Conference start in medicine registration deadlines. Scientific and practical conference “Start into medicine”

The second scientific and practical conference “Start into Medicine” was held at the First Moscow State University named after Sechenov. Schoolchildren presented their projects and research in medical, biological-chemical, physical-biological and bioengineering areas.

The “Start into Medicine” conference has been held for the second year as part of the city project “Medical class in a Moscow school.” Its goal is to determine current effective models for the implementation of pre-professional education in Moscow schools, as well as to present new educational achievements of students in medical classes.

Tatyana LITVINOVA, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the First Moscow State Medical University named after. THEM. Sechenov:
– In general, every student who comes here is already professionally prepared. Namely, we are interested in a professional schoolchild as an educational institution, because then we will not have to change the child’s trajectory, he chose it himself from childhood.

The conference lasted two days. During this time, participants were able not only to talk about their projects, but also to participate in 12 master classes, which were conducted for them by leading teachers. The lectures – a journey through the anatomical body and virtual 3D anatomy – aroused particular interest among schoolchildren. Here the children were able to test their knowledge by answering questions from teachers.

Vladimir NIKOLENKO, Head of the Department of Human Anatomy of the First Moscow State Medical University named after. THEM. Sechenov:
– I thought I would ask them a more complex question, and on the lower limb I asked them to name the muscle (sartorius), the schoolchildren not only named it in Russian and showed it, they named it in Latin, they said why it is called that.

Plenary and breakout sessions, interactive seminar, round table, discussion platform, exhibition of design and research works, excursions to the university museums. The result of such an intense two-day program of the “Start into Medicine” conference was the awarding of the best school projects and works of teachers.

Tatyana Vasilyeva, Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Education:
– The interest in the conference, which is really growing compared to last year, suggests that this is important from the point of view of school education, pre-professional education, and career guidance for future medical university students. It is important that the guys write their works under the guidance or at least with the consultation of professors or university teachers, so the works receive a greater degree of scientific reliability and practical application, and they learn to take any work more seriously.

The results of the conference are taken into account as the individual achievements of those entering the university. The winners and runners-up of the conference among high school students who decide to study at the most reputable medical university in the country will be awarded 5 additional points.

“I am participating in this conference for the first time; I prepared a report on the topic “Analysis of the permeability of tooth enamel in solutions of a low pH environment.” I believe that this topic is quite relevant in our time. I conducted various studies, studied how, for example, carbonated drinks affect tooth enamel,” Valeria, an 11th grade student at school No. 1231, shared with us.

The projects at the conference surprised not only schoolchildren, but also teachers, who proposed their developments in organizing specialized education using modern natural science technology complexes, and also presented elective courses for students in medical classes and shared their experience in organizing project and research activities within the framework of the project “Medical class in Moscow school."
