Launch of the North-East Expressway. When will sections of the new highway be built? North-East Expressway

This fall, the North-Eastern and North-Western Expressways in Moscow will be connected by a turning overpass on Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street. First Deputy Head of the Construction Department Pyotr Aksenov told reporters about this after visiting one of the sections of the North-East Expressway under construction.

As RG has already written, the capital’s chords in terms of the scale of construction and the impact on city traffic can be compared with the Moscow Ring Road or the Third Ring Road. They will save Muscovites from tens of kilometers of re-runs, which they are now forced to do in order to get to the neighboring area. The chords will allow you to cross through the city without entering the historical center. Moreover, both highways will be free.

In particular, the SZH will run from the Dmitrovskoye to Skolkovskoye highways, and the TSW will run from the Moscow-St. Petersburg toll road to the interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road and the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy interchange. After the highways are fully launched, the load on the outbound routes, according to calculations by the Research and Design Institute of the General Plan of Moscow, will decrease by 20-25 percent.

Some sections of the chords are already in use by motorists, and some of their elements are still being completed. For example, the connection between Festivalnaya Street and Dmitrovskoe Highway. It is almost 11 km long, and half of this route goes over bridges and overpasses. Artificial structures were specially designed so that they go as far as possible from houses and do not cause inconvenience to their residents. Nevertheless, just in case, in high-rise buildings in the northeast, builders replaced 6 thousand windows with silent ones. However, construction is already ending. Visually, the overpasses are almost ready; a few things remain to be completed on the engineering side.

We have actually completed 90 percent of the work,” Aksenov said. - But there was a slight delay. On one of the sites there is a Khovrinskaya pumping station, at which communications need to be relocated. In winter, this could not be done without harming the 3.5 thousand local residents whose houses are powered by it.

It turned out that it was possible to turn off the station only on May 15. According to Aksenov’s estimates, the northern section of the expressway can realistically be launched by City Day in September. This will complete the work along almost the entire length of the temporary storage warehouse. Construction is still ongoing on the section between Shchelkovskoye and Otkrytoye highways.

In the near future, in the southwest of the city, the North-Eastern passage will connect with the North-Western one. In the area of Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street, the construction of several connecting overpasses is planned. The first of them, the turnaround, will be completed in October of this year. It allows you to drive from one chord track to another without wasting time on a detour along Dmitrovskoe Highway. Let me note that the Moscow authorities expect to complete construction of both chords by 2020-2021.

Currently, work on the construction of three new highways is in full swing in the capital: the North-Western and North-Eastern Expressways, as well as the South Road.

North-East Expressway

Length North-East Expressway will be about 29 kilometers. It must, bypassing the center of the capital, urban areas in the north and southeast of Moscow, which are considered the most densely populated.

The highway will pass through the largest highways in the northeast of the capital - Dmitrovskoye, Altufevskoye, Otkrytoye, and Izmailovskoye highways, allowing them to significantly relieve congestion. The chord is being laid from the Moscow-St. Petersburg toll road on the western side of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, along the Small Ring of the Moscow Railway to a new interchange on the Moscow Ring Road at the intersection with the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy highway.

There will be a railway overpass on the section of the North-Eastern Expressway from Festivalnaya Street to Dmitrovskoye Shosse. It is necessary to accommodate branch No. 2 of the Moscow railway junction, which connects the Khovrino and Likhobory stations.

On this site it is also planned to build 4 road overpasses, two overpasses over the railway tracks and additional ramps to them. This will allow residents of nearby areas to significantly save time on travel to Dmitrovskoye Highway. Currently, in order to get onto the highway, you have to make a detour. The opening of this section will allow access to the highway directly in the area of the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya metro station.

The North-Eastern Expressway is divided into sections:

  • From Businovskaya interchange to Festivalnaya street (put into operation in 2014);

  • From Festivalnaya Street to Dmitrovskoe Highway (under construction);

  • From Dmitrovskoe highway to Yaroslavskoe highway (projected);

  • From Yaroslavskoye to Otkrytoye Shosse (route not determined);

  • From Otkrytoye to Shchelkovskoe highway (projected);

  • From Shchelkovskoe highway to Izmailovskoe highway (everything was built except the tunnel over Shchelkovskoe highway);

  • From Izmailovskoye Highway to Entuziastov Highway (under construction);

  • From the Entuziastov highway to the interchange at the 8th kilometer of the MKAD Veshnyaki - Lyubertsy (projected).

Next year, a section of the “Northern Road” from Entuziastov Highway to the Moscow Ring Road. Over 12 kilometers of roads will be built here, including six overpasses with a total length of more than 3.7 kilometers. In addition, this site provides for the construction of an underground pedestrian crossing and the reconstruction of two existing ones.

Also, until the end of next year, a section of the highway from Shchelkovskoye to Otkrytoye Shosse will be built. Here, work is being carried out on the construction of new ramps, as well as an entrance to the industrial zone.

On this section, an overpass will be built for traffic towards Shchelkovskoye Highway, an overpass for exiting to Otkrytoye Shosse, an exit from the North-Eastern Expressway to Otkrytoye Shosse and an exit section from Shchelkovskoye Highway to the Northern Rokada.

But the construction of two sections of the highway - Izmailovskoye Highway - Shchelkovskoye Highway and Izmailovskoye Highway - Entuziastov Highway - is planned for this year. Moreover, work on the Enthusiast Highway has already reached the finish line.

This section of the North-Eastern Expressway will run along the MCC tracks and cross the Entuziastov Highway in the area of the metro station of the same name. Construction work is underway on the main route of the Northern Road, Entuziastov Highway, Budyonny Avenue, Perovskaya Street, Anosova Street, Elektrodny Proezd and other adjacent sections of the road network. There will be 5 pedestrian crossings and more than 7 kilometers of tram tracks.

Currently, construction has been completed and 5 overpasses, 3 pedestrian crossings, as well as the Lefortovo MCC station have been put into operation. The work in this area is 85 percent completed.

The construction of the temporary storage warehouse is planned to be completed in two years.

The construction of the North-Eastern Expressway is designed to provide a diagonal connection between the north, east and south-east of the capital, reducing the traffic load on the city center, the Third Ring Road, the Moscow Ring Road and outbound highways.

The North-Eastern Expressway will provide transport services for the reorganized industrial zones in the Eastern Administrative District and the Southern Eastern Administrative District, will allow organizing traffic without traffic lights thanks to the construction of a section of the road from the Moscow Ring Road to the Open Highway, which will reduce the average travel time by more than 15 percent and relieve congestion on the ring road by 20–25 percent, reducing the level air pollution in residential buildings in the Bogorodsky, Sokolniki, Basmanny districts by approximately 10 percent, and will also make the acoustic conditions in these areas more comfortable.

North-Western Expressway

The chord will stretch from Skolkovskoye to Yaroslavskoye Highway and will relieve congestion in the central part of the city, providing a diagonal connection between the north-eastern and south-western regions of Moscow. This will help relieve congestion on the Third Transport Ring, MKAD, Garden Ring, Leningradskoye and Volokolamskoye highways, as well as other highways.

The chord length will be about 29 kilometers. It is planned to make traffic along it without traffic lights.

The following facilities will be built along the North-Western Expressway:

  • Alabyano-Baltiysky tunnel (built);

  • Mikhalkovsky tunnel (allowed the removal of the traffic light at the intersection of Bolshaya Akademicheskaya and Mikhalkovskaya streets);

  • Left turn tunnel on the Moscow – St. Petersburg highway;

  • Tunnel Yartsevskaya/Molodogvardeyskaya (along Molodogvardeyskaya);

  • Tunnel Yartsevskaya/Elninskaya (along Elninskaya);

  • Left turn tunnel on Rublevskoe highway;

  • Turnaround tunnel along Rublevskoye Highway (southern side of the highway);

  • An overpass in front of Rublevskoye Highway, which will connect Krylatskie Hills Street and 3rd Krylatskaya Street;

  • Bridge-understudy of Krylatsky;

  • Bridge over the canal near Karamyshevsky;

  • Overpass across Dmitrovskoye Highway;

  • Overpass near Gostinichnaya Street;

  • Overpass across the Small Ring of the Moscow Railway near the Vladykino metro station;

  • Overpass near the Botanical Garden metro station;

  • Left turn overpass on Yaroslavskoye Highway;

  • 35 overground and underground pedestrian crossings;

  • Tunnel at the intersection of Berzarina and People's Militia streets.

The construction work was one of the most difficult on the North-Western Expressway. It passes under Leningradsky Prospekt, two transport tunnels (Volokolamsky and Leningradsky), Zamoskvoretskaya metro line, Podmoskovnaya station of the Moscow Railway, and also connects Alabyan and Bolshaya Akademicheskaya streets.

The North-Western Expressway will increase the Aminevskoye Highway by 25–30 percent. Parts of Vitebskaya Street and Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street have already been built. There are five more complex objects in the works, including the connection of Mosfilmovskaya Street with Aminevskoe Highway and General Dorokhov Street.

In addition, it is planned to build 30 new ones and reconstruct 15 existing ones on the North-Western Expressway. In total, the new highway will have 12 overground and 18 underground crossings, which will make it possible to organize traffic without traffic lights on a significant part of the chord.

The section from Rublevskoye Highway to Balaklavsky Prospekt has already been put into operation: two overpasses on Rublevskoye Highway and pedestrian crossings have been built there.

Among the plans is the construction of a multi-level interchange at the intersection of Varshavskoe Highway (three lanes in each direction). On this section, a tunnel will be built under the Varshavskoye Highway, an overpass towards the Varshavskoye Highway, two turning ramps and side passages for passing turning flows of public transport, an overpass under the Paveletsky direction of the Moscow Railway, as well as a bridge over the Chertanovka River and an underground pedestrian crossing.

At the same time, construction of a railway overpass in the Paveletsky direction of the Moscow Railway will begin this year. According to the project, the first and second tracks will pass along one overpass, the third existing track and the fourth promising track will pass along the second.

And here is a 790-meter overpass at the intersection of Warsaw Highway and Balaklava Avenue in 2018. As part of the project, two pedestrian crossings are being built across Kantemirovskaya Street: one aboveground - at the intersection with 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane, and the second underground - near house No. 58. Double-glazed windows with noise-proof valves are being installed in nearby houses. In total, builders will replace more than 1.8 thousand window blocks.

The North-Eastern Expressway (NEC) is emerging more and more clearly on the map of Moscow. Motorists probably actively use four sections: from Businovskaya interchange to Festivalnaya street, from Izmailovskoye to Shchelkovskoye highway, from Entuziastov highway to Izmailovskoye highway and from Shchelkovskoye to Otkrytoye highway. Now they have access to two more: from Entuziastov Highway to the Moscow Ring Road and from Festivalnaya Street to Dmitrovskoye Shosse.

Thus, the chord became continuous in the sections from the Businovskaya interchange to the Dmitrovskoye Shosse and from the Otkrytoye Shosse to the Moscow Ring Road. This almost 80 kilometers of roads, 67 artificial structures and 14 pedestrian crossings. In the north of Moscow, the route of the expressway continues beyond the Moscow Ring Road, turning into the new highway M11 Moscow - St. Petersburg.

The remaining two sections - from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye Shosse and from Yaroslavskoye to Otkrytoye Shosse - are currently being designed.

Despite the fact that the chord is not yet fully ready, it has already made life much easier for millions of Muscovites. Let's talk about already open areas.

From Businovskaya interchange to Dmitrovskoe highway

This large section of temporary storage warehouses included two sections: from Businovskaya interchange to Festivalnaya street and from Festivalnaya street to Dmitrovskoye highway.

First was opened in 2015. It consists of 7.8 kilometers of roads, including 19 overpasses (4.45 kilometers), as well as a reconstructed pedestrian crossing.

Plot helped connect three areas: Khovrino, Golovinsky and Western Degunino. Before this, it was possible to travel between them only through the Moscow Ring Road, which heavily loaded the highway. In addition, this section helped to integrate the highway with the Moscow-St. Petersburg federal highway.

Second section- from Festivalnaya Street to Dmitrovskoye Shosse - opened on September 5. It includes 10.6 kilometers of roads, including seven overpasses, a bridge over the Likhoborka River, an overpass on the connecting branch of the Oktyabrskaya Railway and an underground pedestrian crossing. The section allows residents of the Golovinsky, Timiryazevsky and Koptevo districts to directly access Dmitrovskoye Highway without entering the Moscow Ring Road.

This is one of the most important sections of the chord, which will provide a connection to Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street and exit to the North-Western Expressway. It will also allow the Moscow-St. Petersburg highway to exit through Dmitrovskoye Highway into the city center.

From Open Highway to MKAD

The second part of the future highway will stretch from the Open Highway to the eastern part of the Moscow Ring Road. During construction it was divided into four sections: from Otkrytoye to Shchelkovskoye highway, from Shchelkovskoye to Izmailovskoye highway, from Izmailovskoye highway to Entuziastov highway and from Entuziastov highway to the Moscow Ring Road.

Traffic on five overpasses section from Shchelkovskoye to Izmailovskoye highway is also already open. The total length of its roads is 13.38 kilometers, of which 1.48 kilometers are occupied by overpasses, and another 480 meters are a tunnel under the Shchelkovskoye Highway. The site helped relieve congestion on Izmailovskoye and Shchelkovskoye highways, Entuziastov highway and Budyonny Avenue, as well as Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya and Pervomaiskaya streets.

Section from Izmailovskoye Highway to Entuziastov Highway- this is 22.84 kilometers of roads that were opened in 2017. It included 15 overpasses, five pedestrian crossings and a reconstructed railway overpass. The road has eased traffic on Budyonny Avenue and on the section of Entuziastov Highway from Budyonny Avenue to Plekhanov Street. It also made it possible to reduce the flow of traffic traveling to the city center along Entuziastov Highway. The site has improved transport accessibility in the Sokolinaya Gora, Preobrazhenskoye, Vostochnoye and Northern Izmailovo districts.

Eastern end of the chord - section from Entuziastov highway to MKAD— opened on September 4. It will ease traffic in the east and south-east of the capital, reduce the load on Ryazansky Avenue, Entuziastov Highway and Shchelkovskoye Highway, as well as on the eastern sectors of the Moscow Ring Road and the Third Transport Ring (TTK). It will now be much easier for residents of the Kosino-Ukhtomsky and Nekrasovka districts, as well as Lyubertsy, to enter the city.

The segment included the longest overpass in Moscow— 2.5 kilometers from the Plyushchevo platform to the overpass exit from Perovskaya Street.

During the construction of the road, pedestrian crossings were repaired: to the Vykhino metro station and the platform of the same name of the Kazan and Ryazan directions of the Moscow Railway, to the Assumption Church and Veshnyakovsky cemetery, to Kuskovo park.

Crossing Moscow

The North-Eastern Expressway will become one of four new through highways in the capital. They decided to build them instead of the Fourth Transport Ring because, according to experts, such a system. The new transport framework, which will appear in Moscow by 2023, will be based on the North-East, South-East and North-West Expressways, as well as the South Road.

New highways They will connect the city districts and relieve congestion on the Third Transport Ring Road, the Moscow Ring Road and outbound highways. They will include about 300 kilometers of roads, 127 overpasses, bridges and tunnels, as well as more than 50 pedestrian crossings.

The North-Eastern Expressway will stretch from the M11 Moscow - St. Petersburg highway to the interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with the Veshnyaki - Lyubertsy highway. It will connect major highways and also connect diagonally the north, east and southeast of the capital.

It is planned to open traffic on two sections of the North-East Expressway by early autumn. Over the next month, the initial section from the Businovskaya interchange to the Dmitrovskoye Shosse will be completed, and by the beginning of autumn it is planned to launch traffic along the final section of the route - from the Entuziastov Highway to the Moscow Ring Road.

Read about the stage of readiness of sections of the North-Eastern Expressway and when they are expected to open in the material of the Moscow 24 portal.

From Businovskaya interchange to Dmitrovskoe highway

Now the road between Dmitrovskoe Highway, Festivalnaya Street and Businovskaya Interchange is almost ready, builders are finishing the construction of a two-hundred-meter section in the area of the Khovrinskaya pumping station.

“The Khovrinskaya pumping station, which supplied more than three and a half thousand consumers, fell into the construction zone. We built a new station, but we were able to disconnect all systems from the previous one only on May 15 of this year, and we quickly began to build a two-hundred-meter section. We expect that we will finish in September. We will strive to open traffic for City Day,” First Deputy Head of the Construction Department Pyotr Aksenov told the Moscow 24 portal.

What is ready on the section from Dmitrovskoye Highway to Festivalnaya Street?

More than 11 kilometers of four-lane main road, seven overpasses, two of which are one and a half kilometers long, and ramps ranging from 300 to 500 meters in length were built on the site. A new overpass across the Oktyabrskaya Railway and a bridge over the Likhoborka River were built.

“At the same time, the construction of the overpass across the railway proceeded without stopping the movement of trains,” noted the first deputy head of the Department of Construction.

We also took care of protection from highway noise. “We have replaced six thousand window blocks, and we will also build about two kilometers of noise barriers,” Aksenov promised. According to him, trees will be planted along the road.

In October, a reversal overpass will be built on Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street, connecting the North-East Expressway with the North-West. “The overpass on Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street is the first part of the connection of the two expressways. It makes it possible to turn around on Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street and enter the North-Eastern Expressway without entering Dmitrovskoe Highway,” Aksenov noted.

From the Entuziastov highway to the interchange with the Moscow Ring Road "Veshnyaki - Lyubertsy"

In September, it is planned to open traffic on another section of the North-Eastern Expressway: from Entuziastov Highway to the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy interchange on the Moscow Ring Road. Here the stumbling block was the old traction substation of the Gorky direction of the Moscow Railway. According to Pyotr Aksenov, the capital’s government has agreed with the Moscow Railway on the demolition of the substation and the construction of a new one.

“We turned off the traction substation and switched it to a new one, after which we began to complete the road. Full traffic from the Entuziastov highway to the interchange with the MKAD “Veshnyaki - Lyubertsy” will open in early autumn,” he promised.

From Otkrytoye to Shchelkovskoe highway

By the end of the year, the capital’s authorities plan to open traffic from Otkrytoye to Shchelkovskoye highway. Overpasses of the main passage and side passages were built here. And also a tunnel under the Shchelkovskoye Highway, which is going to open in the coming months. According to Pyotr Aksenov, the construction of roads more than eight kilometers long with the relocation of utilities is in full swing.

“On the section of the first section, traffic is planned to be opened within the next month. The main work of the first stage of construction has been completed. It includes the laying of about 5.5 kilometers of roads, including the construction of three overpasses about 3.4 kilometers long,” said a government official.

He also noted that thanks to the commissioning of a new section, traffic flows between Shchelkovskoye and Otkrytoye highways will be redistributed. This will reduce the traffic load on Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya, Stromynka, Krasnobogatyrskaya streets and Rusakovskaya embankment. In addition, transport accessibility of the Golyanovo and Metrogorodok districts will increase.

From Dmitrovskoe highway to Yaroslavskoe highway

Next year, construction of the section of the North-Eastern Expressway from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye Highway may begin.

“The planning project has passed public hearings, has finally received approval from the Moscow government, design is now underway. The site is very complex, there is a cluster of large industrial enterprises and a huge number of utility networks. We are doing everything possible so that construction begins next year,” said the first deputy head Depstroya.

He emphasized that the design of the site and the liberation of the territory will be carried out at the expense of budget money. “We are already starting to work: demolishing garages and interacting with industrial enterprises that fall into the construction zone,” Aksenov noted.

At the same time, there is a proposal from investors to build a road from Dmitrovskoye to Yaroslavskoye highway on a concession basis, but a final decision on this issue has not yet been made, he explained.

From Otkrytoye to Yaroslavskoe highway

The only section of the North-Eastern Expressway on which no work is currently underway is from Otkrytoye to Yaroslavskoye Highway.

“The problem is that, presumably, the road should pass through the Losiny Ostrov national park, while there is no final decision on the routing of the section. The Moskomarkhitektura is working on the study, when the department completes the work, then we will start talking about the construction of the section,” summed up Pyotr Aksenov .

The North-Eastern Expressway, 26.6 km long, will connect the south-east and north of Moscow along the periphery. It began to be built as a continuation of the only already constructed section of the Fourth Transport Ring in the area of Entuziastov Highway.

The chord will run from the Moscow-St. Petersburg toll road on the western side of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, along the Small Ring of the Moscow Railway to a new interchange on the Moscow Ring Road at the intersection with the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy highway. The route will connect major highways in the north-eastern part of Moscow: Izmailovskoye, Shchelkovskoye, Dmitrovskoye, Altufevskoye and Otkrytoe highways.

I’ve somehow gotten used to the fact that in the area of Enthusiastov Highway there is endless construction going on. Overpasses are erected on top, something is opened or closed there. But I only realized that such construction was taking place there when I saw it from above. Let's look at the section under construction (and partially operational) from Entuziastov Highway to Shchelkovskoye Highway.

9. Fantastic denouement.

10. Partial traffic along it was opened in September 2012.

11. On the website of the construction complex there is a huge PDF with a diagram of this site. Be careful, the file is very heavy and complex.

12. Surprisingly, the Moscow Electrode Plant was not touched. By the way, if you believe the map, there is still a separate railway section on it. It is clear that it is not used, but it is clearly visible in the satellite image.

13. That section that opened in 2012 runs into such a funny exit to Second Street of the Izmailovsky Menagerie.

33. Former Central Stadium of the USSR named after. I.V. Stalin. Construction began in 1932 according to the design of the architect N. Ya. Kolli. The project was partially implemented. The stadium was supposed to accommodate 100 thousand spectators and was designed in such a way that military parades could take place there. It was assumed that tanks would be able to freely enter and leave the stadium in columns. Due to the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, construction was frozen. According to legend, there is a tunnel from the stadium to the Partizanskaya metro station. As the degree of drinking increases, the tunnel turns from a pedestrian one into a tank one, which goes all the way to the Kremlin. To the question “why?” the narrators were never able to answer.
