The heroes of Gaidar's story are Timur and his team. “Timur and his team”: the main characters of A.P.’s work

“Timur and His Team” is a work that teaches you to be kind, responsible, disciplined and always ready to help people. Heroes are true patriots, they are an example of what a person should be.

The main character is Timur. He is courageous, courageous and decisive. A good, loyal friend. Having created a detachment that takes care of military families, Timur and the guys help people with housework and keep order, which a gang of hooligans led by Mishka Kvakin is constantly trying to disrupt.

Zhenya- a thirteen-year-old girl who came to the dacha with her older sister Olga. She loves and waits for her father, the commander of the Red Army. Accidentally meets Timur and his team. Being brave and lively, she quickly becomes imbued with their activities and helps them in everything.

Georgy Garayev- Uncle Timur. The young engineer is incredibly talented, he sings well and performs in the factory opera. Sociable, responsible, cheerful, he falls in love with Zhenya’s sister Olga. While waiting for the summons, he is engaged in Timur’s education, and having received it, he goes to the front as a captain in the tank forces.

Olga― daughter of Colonel Alexandrov and Zhenya’s older sister. The father sends the sisters to their dacha in the Moscow region. At 18 years old, Olga considers herself independent and an adult, and she strictly raises Zhenya. Despite the fact that she constantly scolds her sister for her tricks, Olga sincerely loves Zhenya. Having created a not very flattering opinion about Timur, she forbids her sister to be friends with him, but, having gotten to know him better, she explains to Garayev that she was mistaken in her judgment about his nephew. Olga is a fair and honest girl, together with Timur’s team and many others, she accompanies George to the front.

Colonel Alexandrov- a fair and honest person. Trying to protect his daughters from the horrors of war, he sends them to the dacha. He appreciates the action of Timur, who manages to bring Zhenya to Moscow to say goodbye to his father.

Mikhail Kvakin- Ataman of a gang of hooligans who rob the gardens of local residents and engage in hooliganism. Kvakin is a smart guy, in some cases he acts fairly and honestly. Over time, he begins to understand that their gang, bringing trouble to people, to some extent oppose Soviet power. It is possible that Mikhail will improve and choose a different path in life.

Timur's team- brave, disciplined, responsible and very friendly boys and girls, together with their commander they help people. Cowardly, but kind and honest Kolya Kolokolchikov, cheerful and efficient Sima Simakov, serious Vasily Ladygin, kind Geika, energetic and businesslike Nyurka - each of these heroes embodies the best human qualities.

Kvakin's gang– local hooligans who cause fear and hostility among local residents. They steal, fight and behave disgracefully. They obey their chieftain in everything and wage war with Timur’s team. Only two characters are presented vividly. Alyosha is honest and respects Timur, despite the fact that he is his enemy. The figure - it is no coincidence that he is presented anonymously - is cruel, cynical and angry at the whole world.

This work is the embodiment of the best human qualities; you want to re-read it again and again.

It’s funny what I’m doing there,” Gaidar said unexpectedly during a conversation that had been going on until that moment on a completely different topic. “There I have this... you know, the colonel, the father, is leaving. He’s going to the station. and his daughter asks him: “Are you traveling in a soft carriage?”? » He says:“In a soft one...” And he is, in fact, traveling with me in an armored train...” This is what L. Kassil said about the beginning of the creation of the story.1. The story begins with the fact that the daughters of Colonel Alexandrov

Tell us about the tasks the guys perform.

a) helping an old woman with thrush;

b) stacking firewood;

c) catching a goat;

d) playing with a little girl.

4. Humor in the story.

Tell us about the episodes that made you smile (the return of a goat with a plywood poster attached to its horns; the old milkmaid decided to fill the barrel; the blanket was pulled off the sleepy gentleman Kolokolchikov).

Timur's people do good deeds not for themselves and not for their glory. Remember how they did their business? (so that no one would see. Secretly. They did not want to be known about them, they did not seek fame for themselves.)

Yes, the Timur movement will remain, because there are always people who need help, and there are people who help. And in our school there were children who helped the elders: they removed snow, chopped firewood, and stacked it.

In Russia, the memory of A. Gaidar is immortalized, there are Gaidar museums, city streets bear his name

VIII. Homework.

Write an essay on the topic: “Are Timur’s men needed now?”

Gaidar Arkady Petrovich is an author with whom I have already encountered many times, for example, while reading the work Chuk and Gek. This summer I came across this wonderful author again when I was reading another work by Gaidar Timur and his team. I came across the work this summer. I read the author’s work in one breath, because it is a fascinating story that tells about the good intentions of Timur’s people, about their help to ordinary people.

Gaidar Timur and his team

The reader's diary and the work of Timur and his team by the author Gaidar introduces us to a boy who managed to rally his friends and set a common goal: to help all those who need help, and first of all, the guys helped the families of Red Army soldiers. They help secretly from the adults, therefore, Zhenya, who, having arrived from Moscow with her sister to the village, joining the ranks of Timur’s followers, could not tell her sister the whole truth about Timur. Her sister considered Timur a hooligan and forbade Zhenya to communicate with him. But the children continued their good work. So, they helped the old women. Either they chop wood, then they find a goat, then they fill a barrel with water, then they play with a child. But the most important goal of the guys was to expose and disperse Mishka Kvakin’s gang, which often stole apples. And the guys manage to set up an ambush and lock up the hooligans in the market square, where Timur and his team attached a sign that informed everyone that those same apple thieves were locked up.

The good thing about the work is that adults finally take the side of the children, understanding them and supporting them. Olya, Masha’s older sister, can change her opinion about Timur when Timur, in spite of everything, brought Zhenya on his uncle’s motorcycle, just so that Zhenya could see her father, who arrived in the city for a few hours. But since time was lost, since the telegram was read too late, Zhenya was able to see her father for only a few minutes. But, thanks to Timur, the meeting, although fleeting, took place. This incident changed Olga’s opinion about Timur.

Timur and his team are the main characters

In the work “Timur and His Team” the main character is Timur - he is a simple, ordinary boy. Although no, you can’t call him ordinary, because he is a little man with a kind and sympathetic heart, so he is always ready to help everyone. This is a proud commissar who rallied the guys. Now Zhenya, Nyurka, Kolya, Geika, Sima, who are also the heroes of the work, are playing a secret game that is incomprehensible to adults, so because of this, conflicts arise between children and adults. But this game is permeated with a great and generous feeling of love for the Motherland, because Timur’s people help the families of Red Army soldiers.

Also the heroine of the work Timur and his team are Zhenya and her sister Olya. Zhenya, after the death of her mother, began to be raised by her older sister. Her sister is strict and wants Zhenya to grow up according to all the rules, to be obedient and disciplined. But Zhenya doesn’t quite agree with this, because this is a thirteen-year-old child who wants adventure and, thanks to Timur and his team, Zhenya got this opportunity.

There are also negative heroes here in the person of Mishka Kvakin and his gang, with whom Timur is waging a real war.

Having met Timur and his team in a brief summary, I concluded that this is a good work that makes you think, because in our time there are a lot of people who need help and it would be good if schoolchildren united in one team, became some kind of Timurovites who would do good deeds. So today I’m going to visit my retired neighbor, perhaps she needs my help, which she won’t refuse.

In 1940 the film was released
"Timur and his team",
which became a cult favorite for Soviet children.
His popularity and influence were very large-scale:
A whole Timur movement unfolded in the USSR.
The pioneers, imitating their idols, helped the elderly and wounded soldiers returning from the front.
Few people know how the fates of the children who embodied the ideal of selflessness, patriotism and compassion turned out on screen.

The script for the film was written by Arkady Gaidar.
Many people mistakenly think that the film was an adaptation of his story, but first Gaidar created the script, and on its basis the story was later written.
Arkady Gaidar and the film's director, Alexander Razumny, were best friends.
They worked on the film for 2 years.
The Son of Reason recalls:
“The fact is that Gaidar was a very handsome man, and not only women, but also children clung to him.
We then lived on Tverskaya, not far from Mayakovsky Square, and when Gaidar went out into the yard, children came running from all sides to play with him.
One day he came up with a game that all the children happily accepted.
Later, the idea for this game became the basis for the script.”
Gaidar named the main characters in honor of his son Timur from his 1st marriage and his adopted daughter Zhenya from his 2nd.

Liviy Shchipachev in the film *Timur and his team*, 1940

About 200 children auditioned for the role of Timur Garayev, the nephew of the Red Army commander.
They approved Livy Shchipachev, the son of the then famous poet Stepan Shchipachev.
This is exactly how Gaidar and Razumny imagined an exemplary pioneer: fair-haired, blue-eyed, with a strong-willed chin.
Livy was remembered by the audience, but did not continue his career as an actor.
He graduated from a school for especially gifted children, an institute named after. Surikov in painting class, became a member of the Union of Artists.
His paintings are exhibited in the Tretyakov Gallery and in foreign collections.
Liviy Shchipachev does not like to remember the film:
“I'm an artist, not an actor.
Forget about my past,” he said.

Katya Derevshchikova as Zhenya, 1940

The role of Zhenya went to Ekaterina Derevshchikova.
This was not her first film work.
The fate of this actress was tragic:
her father was repressed, the girl was expelled from VGIK for unknown reasons.
She searched for her path for a long time, lived for some time with her husband in Kyiv and served at the Russian Drama Theater. Lesya Ukrainka.
In the 1960s she returned to Moscow and got a job in
Puppet theater of Sergei Obraztsov.
She had to experience the death of loved ones: her second husband died of cancer, her son passed away at the age of 35.
In 1999, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Nikolai Kutuzov in the film *Timur and his team*, 1940

Nikolai Kutuzov got the role of Geika by accident:
he studied music and performed in a balalaika orchestra.
There they saw him and offered him a role in the film.
In the future, he did not connect his fate with cinema, since his real calling was music.
Kutuzov wrote many works for the choir, taught at Gnesinka, and directed the Academic Choir of Russian Song of the Central Television and All-Union Radio.

Igor Smirnov, who played the role of Sima Simakov, also devoted his life to music.
He became a choreographer, teacher, head of the department of choreography at the Moscow State University of Culture and Art, and one of the founders of the Karelian national ballet.

Igor Smirnov in the film *Timur and his team*, 1940

Boris Yasen, who played the hooligan Mishka Kvakin, was older than the other guys and after filming went to the front.
In 1942, he returned to star in the continuation of the film story “Timur’s Oath”, and then again went to the front line, where he went missing.
These 2 films became the only ones in his creative life.

Boris Yasen as Mishka Kvakin

Viktor Seleznev, who got the role of Vitya, the grandson of Dr. Kolokolchikov, acted in films from the age of 4, but did not continue his film career in the future.
He was fond of sports, bullet shooting, graduated from a coaching school, and became an Honored Trainer of the RSFSR in bullet shooting.

It is surprising that almost all the children who starred in the film “Timur and His Team” abandoned their film careers, but successfully realized their abilities in other areas of activity.
The director managed to find truly unique and talented children worthy of imitation not only in the film, but also behind the scenes!
