50 points in Russian. Primary and test (secondary) USE scores: what is the difference? Preparation for the exam

Each graduate who wants to become a student of one of the universities of the Russian Federation in 2018 faces a difficult task - to successfully pass the exam, as well as to choose the right educational institution and faculty for submitting documents. The majority of 11th graders and their parents are faced with the final exam assessment system for the first time and often find it difficult to find answers to the questions that arise. Therefore, we decided to shed light on important points.

In 2017-2018, the basic rules for passing the exam will not be significantly changed. This means that the 100-point system for grading final tests will still be relevant for graduates.

How is everything going?

During the examination of examination papers, for each correctly completed task, the graduate receives the so-called “primary scores”, which, upon completion of the examination of the work, are summed up and converted into a “test score”, which is indicated in the USE certificate.

Important! Since 2009, the scale for converting primary and test USE scores into traditional five-point grades for schools has not been officially used, because in 2017 and 2018 final exams are not included in the certificate.

Checking work is done in two ways:

  • automatically (with the help of special programs and technical means);
  • manually (the correctness of detailed answers is checked by two independent experts).

It is quite difficult to challenge the result of an automatic check. If the basic rules were not followed when filling out the answer table, the computer may not protect the result, and only the graduate himself, who did not follow a number of mandatory rules, will be to blame for this.

If controversial issues arise during the expert review, a third specialist is involved, whose opinion will be decisive.

When to expect results?

The following time limits apply by law:

  • data processing (for compulsory subjects) at the RCSC should not last longer than 6 calendar days;
  • for data processing (subjects of choice) RTsOI give 4 days;
  • verification at the Federal Testing Center should take no more than 5 working days;
  • approval of the results by the State Examination Commission - 1 more day;
  • up to 3 days to send the results to the USE participants.

In practice, from the moment of passing the exam to receiving the official result, it can take from 8 to 14 days.

Converting USE scores to grade

Despite the fact that officially in 2018 the scale for converting points in USE subjects into a five-point grade is not used, many still want to interpret their result in a more familiar "school" system. To do this, you can use special tables or online calculators.

Table for converting OGE test scores into grades

Russian language

Mathematics

Informatics

Social science

Foreign languages

Biology

Geography

Literature

The second method is a little easier and more convenient than searching for the desired values in the cells of a huge table. Simply select a subject (mathematics, Russian, chemistry, physics, history, English, social studies ... and other subjects), enter the data and get the desired result in a matter of seconds.

We suggest trying how simple and convenient it is to use in practice the online calculators of the USE score and its conversion to a 5-point grade.

Internet systems for applicants

The academic year 2017-2018 is over, the exam has been passed, the results are known, and even the interactive scale for transferring primary scores showed that the USE result is in a fairly good range ... But, is this enough to enter the desired university?

Assess the real chances of entry, based on test scores and the minimum passing threshold set by the university.

Important! The minimum passing score is formed by the university itself. It will directly depend on the scores of applicants who apply in 2018. The more popular the specialty, the higher the passing score will be.

Often, at the TOP faculties, even 100-point results are not enough for admission to the budget. Only winners of the Olympiads, who give significant additional points, have a chance to see their last name in the lists of applicants for such areas.

In 2018, the most popular services for selecting a university and monitoring the entrance score threshold for various specialties will be:

  1. Ucheba.ru
  2. Apply online
  3. HSE calculator
  4. Postyplenie.ru
  5. Typical entrant

Finding these services is very easy. It is enough to enter their name into any search engine.

All 11th grade students who will have to take the USE in 2019 are interested in the question of how primary scores will be transferred to secondary ones and what will be the scale of correspondence between the USE results and school grades.

We offer to delve into the issue of scoring for compulsory subjects of final exams and find out what results can be considered sufficient for admission to a university in subjects of choice.

EGE assessment 2019

Important! There will be no cardinal changes in the system for assessing examination papers in 2019, and the scale for converting primary scores into test scores, developed for the previous USE season, will be relevant for most subjects.

An exception to the rule will be biology and social studies, for which some innovations in KIMs are provided, which entailed a slight change in the maximum primary score, namely:

As in 2018, final papers will be reviewed in two ways:

  1. using automated electronic systems that recognize the standard USE 2019 answer form;
  2. with the involvement of experts who will have to manually evaluate the detailed answers of an increased and high level of complexity.

When checking the work, the graduate will be counted primary scores (hereinafter referred to as PB), and after that they will be transferred to a test score (hereinafter referred to as TB), which will be the resulting one, counted as the official result of the exam.

Score correspondence tables for compulsory subjects

Despite loud promises to expand the range of compulsory exams for graduates of the 11th grade, mathematics and the Russian language remain mandatory this academic year. The prospect of introducing history and the English language is being actively discussed and studied by experts.

For each subject of the USE 2019, there is a correspondence table, according to which the transfer of primary scores will take place.

Russian language

The Russian language exam will be the main one in 2019 as well. The transfer of primary scores received by the examinee based on the results of checking parts I and II of the USE exam ticket 2019 into secondary (resulting, test) scores will be carried out according to the following correspondence table.

Thus, to obtain a document on education, it is enough for a graduate to score 10 PB (24 TB), but only those who score at least 16 PB (36 TB) will be able to join the fight for a budgetary place in one of the universities in Russia.

Mathematics

The results of the USE in mathematics at the basic level are not considered when entering a university, and in order to receive a certificate, those who pass this exam need only get 7 (out of 20 possible) primary points, which will correspond to a grade of "3".

Graduates who pass mathematics at the profile level in 2019, having calculated the primary score, can independently determine the result by transferring from primary scores to secondary (test) ones according to the following table:

Score correspondence tables for elective subjects

The difference between the interpretation of the results in the subjects of mathematics and Russian, as well as other disciplines of the Unified State Examination 2019, is that for compulsory subjects, when translating primary points, they distinguish separately the minimum threshold for obtaining a certificate and separately the lower limit of the result that allows you to apply to the university. For all items of choice, these two lower bounds are the same.

Biology

The minimum passing grade for Biology in 2019 will be 16 PB, which is equivalent to 32 TB.

Story

Those who have overcome the minimum threshold in history for the USE in 2019 will be considered the guys who scored 9 PB, which the translation of primary points set in the table interprets as 32 out of 100 possible TB.

Informatics

The maximum primary score in computer science is 35, and to overcome the minimum threshold, it is enough to get only 6 points, which, according to the table below, corresponds to 40 TB out of 100 possible.

Social science

In order to gain the desired 100 TB for many at the upcoming Unified State Examination in Social Studies 2019, the final assessment participant will need to get the maximum possible 64 primary points. In this case, the minimum threshold for the subject will be 21 PB or 42 TB.

Chemistry

A maximum of 60 primary points can be obtained for a perfectly executed job. At the same time, the minimum result that allows you to receive documents on education and try to continue your education will be a threshold of 13 PB or 36 TB.

Physics

The discipline is rightfully considered one of the most difficult among the elective subjects of the Unified State Examination. Although the minimum threshold is only 10 PB (33 TB) points, not everyone can overcome it. But, having received a high result, a graduate can confidently enter the struggle for a budgetary place in the best technical universities in the country.

Geography

Today, the subject does not belong today to the popular disciplines of the Unified State Examination, because only a few universities that provide education with a narrow specialization require this certificate. If you are determined to take this particular subject, it will not be so difficult to overcome the lower bar of 10 PB (respectively, 34 TB). If you need a certificate with close to the maximum result, you should pay as much attention to preparation as possible.

Literature

An exam that is often chosen by guys who want to connect their lives with journalism or other creative professions. The minimum threshold for literature in 2019 will be 14 PB = 30 TB, and the maximum score of 100 points can be obtained by earning 58 out of 58 possible starting points.

Foreign languages

The calculation of scores in foreign languages is the simplest, because for this group of subjects of the USE 2019 there is a direct transfer of primary scores into test scores according to the one-to-one system.

1 PB = 1 TB

As a minimum threshold for 2019, a result of 22 points was adopted.

Conclusion

The minimum scores indicated in the tables give a hypothetical opportunity to participate in the struggle for a budget place. In practice, passing scores to the university are much higher. This indicator varies from year to year and depends on the number of applicants applying for a particular specialty and the results of their USE certificates.

You can find out what the passing score was for the specialty you are interested in, as well as what certificates are needed to participate in the competition for budget places, on the website of the university where you plan to apply.

If you are interested in what grade the received test score corresponds to, use the unofficial table for interpreting the results of the USE 2019:

The transfer of USE scores is made after the primary result is calculated, based on the approved scale, it is converted into test scores.

They play an important role when entering a university and are recorded in the certificate of passing the exam.

Those who finish the 11th grade and are preparing to enter a university are especially interested in learning how the USE score is translated.

Hundreds of thousands of students undergo this procedure every year. To obtain a certificate, it is enough to pass only two subjects - mathematics and Russian.

The rest of the subjects - and a total of 14 of them - are taken on a voluntary basis, depending on the chosen university.

In order for the results to be displayed in the certificate, the graduate needs to score more than the established minimum points.

How are the results of the exam evaluated

The results of the exam are evaluated by the commission and translated into a 100-point system.

There is an algorithm for converting these amounts into more familiar estimates. Officially, this method has not been used since 2009.

But if you wish, you can familiarize yourself with the scale for transferring USE marks.

The evaluation of the results is carried out in two stages:

  • by the number of completed tasks, the student is given a primary score. It consists of the sum for all tasks performed correctly;
  • then the primary USE scores are translated into test scores. This figure is fixed in the USE certificate and plays an important role for admission to the university. Below is a translation table for the math exam.

Important: the scale is designed taking into account the complexity of the tasks.

Up-to-date information on the exam can always be obtained on the portal http://ege.edu.ru/ru.

What is the minimum score

To receive a USE certificate, a student needs to score more than the established minimum limit in Russian and mathematics.

It is determined annually for each individual subject. In fact, the minimum score is the equivalent of a three.

This result reflects that the student has satisfactorily mastered the curriculum.

Minimum score:

  1. Determines the issuance of a certificate of passing the exam.
  2. It is set for each subject annually after passing the exam and before the results are published.

At the end of 2016, in order to obtain a certificate, it was necessary to obtain at least 36 test points in the Russian language.

In mathematics, this limit is 3, and in the profile level - 27.

The difference between primary scores and test scores

When evaluating the results of passing the exam, the primary amount is first set. Then these USE 2017 scores are transferred to test scores.

They are determined on a 100-point scale. This score will be in the USE certificate if it is above the minimum.

When calculating points, the algorithm is as follows:

  1. For each correctly completed task, one or more points are awarded.
  2. At the end, the sum for the entire work is calculated.
  3. The primary USE scores are being translated.

Regarding test scores, they are calculated on a 100-point system. But the amount of primary may differ for different items.

For example, in mathematics, you can get 30 primary points, and for foreign languages this limit is 80.

The assessment of the task depends on its complexity. For the tasks of part B, one primary point is awarded for the correct answer.

For part C, there are several options: for tasks 1 and 2, 2 primary points are awarded, the correct answer to question 3 and 4 immediately gives 3, and tasks 5 and 6 will add 4 points to the student's result.

USE scores and grades

Although there is an approximate scale for converting USE scores into grades familiar to all students, since 2009 this system has not been applied.

The refusal to transfer to grades is due to the fact that the amount of points does not affect the indicator in the certificate. It is fixed in a separate certificate.

In the event that a student scored less than the minimum result in one of the compulsory subjects, neither a certificate nor a high school diploma will be issued to him.

If this is a subject from those that are surrendered on a voluntary basis, the result simply will not be counted anywhere.

If an unsatisfactory grade was obtained according to the results of the exam, what should I do? It all depends on what subject.

  1. If the number of points scored is below the minimum in mathematics or in the Russian language, you can retake the exam in the same year on one of the reserve days.
  2. When an unsatisfactory grade is obtained immediately in both subjects, retake is possible only for the next year.
  3. If you did not manage to score enough points in an optional subject, you can retake the exam only next year. An unsatisfactory result will not be reflected in any document. In fact, everything will look as if the graduate did not pass this exam at all.

Depending on the subject, a retake is possible either in the same year on reserve days, or in the next.

Thus, if a student has not passed mathematics at the basic level, he can use the reserve days.

And if a low score was obtained based on the results of the profile level, retake will be possible only after a year.

What to do if the graduate does not agree with the assessment

If the graduate is sure that his work deserves a higher rating, he has the right to file an appeal.

In such a situation, the work will be re-considered by the conflict commission.

There are two possible outcomes. When a score seems low, the student can either be given points or points taken down.

Important: according to the results of the Unified State Examination in 2010, of all the appeals filed, the third part was satisfied.

The first two parts of the exam are tested without human intervention. The possibility of errors cannot be ruled out.

The reason for this may be illegible handwriting and similar circumstances.

If it appears that the grade is low, students file an appeal.

What is the exam

The general text of the task consists of three parts.

  1. Part A is in the form of a test. Of the four proposed answers, the graduate must choose one correct one.
  2. In part B, the following types of tasks are possible: writing a one-word answer, choosing several correct options, or establishing correspondence.
  3. In part C, the student is asked to give a detailed answer to the question.

Depending on the type of task, the verification process is different. The first two parts are checked automatically. Responses are scanned by the system and scored.

This process takes place without human intervention. Upon completion of the test, the results are sent to the testing center located in Moscow.

Part C is evaluated by two independent experts. If the results match, this total is set.

If a slight discrepancy is found after evaluation, the average result is displayed.

With a noticeable inconsistency, a third specialist is appointed.

After the verification is completed, all data is sent to a single testing center. There they are processed and fixed in the database.

From there they are sent to the schools where the exam was taken.

How do USE scores affect college admissions?

In order to apply for admission to a university, graduates need to take the exam.

In total, you can apply to 5 universities, in each of them no more than three specialties.

The application is prepared in writing and handed over personally or sent by mail.

If the second option is selected, you will need to issue a registered letter with a description of the attachment, as well as a notification of receipt.

To find out if the application was approved, you need to go to the official website of the university.

When the acceptance of documents is completed, a list of those who apply for enrollment is laid out there. Their results of passing the exam are also given there.

Enrollment takes place in two waves.

  1. When the first list is published, a few days are allotted for applicants to provide the originals of their documents (in most cases they send copies).
  2. If the deadline for submitting documents has expired, but there are still vacancies, a second list is prepared.

To enter the university, you will need the following package of documents:

  • an application for admission;
  • certified copies of the certificate and identity document;
  • a form with a list of points scored according to the results of the exam;
  • photographs (their size and number are established by the rules of the university).

Other documents may be requested from the applicant. For more information, please contact the university of interest.

The transfer of USE scores in 2017 is carried out according to the same system as in previous years.

To pass the exam, you need to score at least the minimum number of points that is set for each subject annually.

To get a certificate and a certificate with the results of the Unified State Examination, you need to exceed this limit in compulsory subjects.
