To get a gold medal in school you need. Regulations on the forms of obtaining by graduates of educational institutions of gold and silver medals "for special achievements in learning"

Extra points when entering the university, but at the same time sleepless nights in the eleventh grade in the hope of learning the material for the lesson and getting another five. Why do you need a gold medal, and is it needed? Maybe it’s better to calmly prepare for the exam in the selected subjects than to try to do everything? We learned what the trophy owners think about it.

Ekaterina Lapitskaya:

ENJOY THE LAST YEARS OF SCHOOL

First of all, a gold medal is a reason to be proud of yourself. In addition, it is a joy for myself, my parents and close people, because in my family, for example, there have never been medalists before.

I became an excellent student only in the ninth grade. After successfully receiving the first diploma, I did not want to give up positions, and I decided to reach the end with positive marks. Definitely, it was not easy. The tenth and eleventh grades were the most difficult for me. When you are an excellent student, you have some responsibility - you must always be ready for the lesson. If a survey is conducted in the classroom, then the likelihood that you will be asked if no one else knows the answer increases several times. It was a lot of stress for me. On the control or independent tests, the most terrible thing was to hear the result. I seem to be sure that I passed well, but I was still afraid that there would be no five.

In fact, during this period I was very much obsessed with grades. It took me quite a lot of time to do my homework, while some of my classmates had fun and didn't worry about their grades, unlike me. Sometimes I regretted that I decided to achieve a medal.

At the moment, I do not believe that these efforts are justified. The fact is that when entering a university, additional points are given with a diploma with honors, but at the same time you may not have a medal. In fact, the medal brought me only temporary satisfaction and the realization that I managed to achieve my goal. For an honors diploma, one could try a little less than for a medal. Those periods when I studied did not bring me much joy. I could do some other interesting things, but I was only focused on my studies. I won't say it was great.

In my opinion, if a student really likes to study, and it does not bring any difficulties, you can go for a gold medal, why not. In principle, it is just an addition to an honors degree.

I would rather advise graduates to enjoy these last years of school and pay attention to exams. Well, also the desire to receive a medal and a diploma with honors gives rise to perfectionism. I know from my own experience that after high grades you don’t want to lower the bar, and thus you try to do everything 100%, but there is no ideal result.

Anastasia Belaya:

I CAN'T SAY THAT I NEED TO GO TO THE GOLD MEDAL

First of all, the gold medal gave me inner strength, a new impetus to achieve my goals. As for entering the university, thanks to the honors diploma, I was accepted for free education at the institute.

In fact, at first I did not expect to receive a medal. I didn't even expect this turn of events. I just, as always, took my studies seriously during the tenth and eleventh grades, did all my homework, participated in olympiads, made presentations and tried to get only positive marks. Two years flew by unnoticed, and now they tell me that I am an excellent student, I am a medalist!

Experiences and strong emotions were always there. I was very worried about my studies: for independent, control, laboratory work and just for the lessons. She often stayed up late to prepare. There were certainly problems too. It was difficult to understand many topics and even the subjects themselves, but with diligence and labor everything was comprehended.

In fact, I cannot say that a medal is a sign of intelligence, for me it is rather an indicator of work, perseverance. Remembering now my school years, I can say with confidence that I gave all my best, made every effort, so the gold medal is a well-deserved reward.

I do not consider it necessary to go for a gold medal, it is possible to live without it. According to my observations, there is not much difference between medalists and those who do not have it.

Maria Staina:

I DID PRACTICALLY NOTHING TO GET A MEDAL

The gold medal gave me two points at admission and, as a result, passing in the first wave. Without her, I would have gone through the second one and just worried for a few more days. But all the same, I would have entered the budget where I wanted to.

I did almost nothing to get the medal. It was very easy for me to study at school. I always passed tests before everyone else without preparation, it was enough to visit the lesson. I practically did not do my homework, because of this, problems often arose, but the school needed a medal, and its presence is more the merit of the teachers and the director with the head teacher than mine.

There was no effort, I told the director in person that I did not need a medal, asked me to leave me behind.

If schoolchildren need to make efforts to study for one five, then this is good, because a medal is a goal that can and should be strived for. But the nerves that she takes away over the past two school years, it's not worth it. If she gave more privileges, then yes. And so without a medal you can live in peace, as the majority lives. In my first-year group of 32 people, if I'm not mistaken, there were 24 medalists. All are very different. My medal, in fact, means nothing, I study poorly. And some even without a medal are much more successful and passed the exam, and are studying now. So again, the medal, in my opinion, is outdated.

If a student from the first grade studied at "5" and "4", then it will not be difficult for him to get a silver medal at school. After all, the child even forms a peculiar habit of work. The desire to gain new knowledge in science appears in such children involuntarily. To get a silver medal, such students just need to add more perseverance and keep the "fours" to a minimum. After all, the number of “fours” for a silver medal is limited.

Many people ask: “In order to be awarded a silver medal, how many “fours” can I get in the last years of study?” For the last two (and in some schools three) years of study, a student who wants to get a silver medal should have no more than two "fours" in half a year and a year. It happens that some regional ministries of education say that in order to get a silver medal, a student must have a maximum of two "fours" in the last year of study, and for the 10th grade - one "five". It is not true. The child has the right to a silver medal, even if he has 1-2 "fours" but no more) for the 10th grade.

It is interesting that earlier in Russia the criteria for awarding a silver medal were not so strict. In the first half of the 10th grade, it was possible to have many "fours". And only from the second half of the year until the end of school, it was necessary to reduce their number in six months to one or two.

If the student was not even good during his studies in primary and secondary school, then in high school he will have to try and stock up on perseverance if he is determined to get a silver medal. Of course, without good mental abilities and with poor academic performance for all previous years of study, a student will not be able to deserve a silver medal.

If the mental abilities of the child are quite high, and the poor grades for the previous years of study are only the results of laziness, inattention and a frivolous attitude to learning, then it is quite possible that the student will be able to complete his studies at a secondary educational institution with particular success. The question arises: how to get a silver medal at school, what do such students need for this? In this case, you need to completely change your outlook on studying and devote most of your time to it, regularly do homework in all subjects without exception. After all, a silver medal is almost as difficult as a gold medal.

Few people know that in the USSR medals were awarded not only for excellent studies. The behavior of the student during the years of study at the institution was also taken into account. At that time, when awarding medals, grades in subjects that were not related to the mental abilities of schoolchildren were not taken into account. This, for example, music, physical education, drawing.

Nowadays, obtaining a silver medal and a special certificate directly depends not only on the annual and semi-annual grades of a student for the last two years of study. The result of the Unified State Examination is of great importance. His results in the two main subjects of the contender for the medal must be satisfactory, that is, the graduate must necessarily pass the minimum threshold.

Studying has never interfered with anyone, and therefore it is worth striving to comprehend new heights in school disciplines. Getting a silver medal is always prestigious. This is an indicator of the student's knowledge and his reward for his work. Good luck in your studies!

A gold medal at the end of school is a worthy reward for the hard work of a student. To receive a medal, it is not enough to study for one five, it is also important to take an active part in school life. What needs to be done to receive a medal, what prospects it opens up in the future, we will tell in our review article.

The gold medal began its history in Russia in 1828. However, after the October Revolution, the presentation of gold and silver medals was canceled. She returned in May 1945 thanks to Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR No. 1247. Until 2012, there were changes with the gold medal, but they concerned more the external image than the remuneration of students.

In 2013, the department of the Ministry of Education and Science decided not to award a gold medal at the federal level, instead they issued a certificate with honors, outwardly similar to a gold medal certificate. The right to award medals was left to the authorities of the regions.

But in 2014, the President of the Russian Federation signed a law that provides for the return of the gold medal again to the federal level.

Some students are interested in the question: is it true that it is golden? An interesting fact in the history of the medal: in the period from 1946 to 1954, it was indeed cast from 583-carat gold, weighing approximately 10.5 grams.

But what is the modern gold medal made of? Now the symbol of excellence in studies consists of an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel. But the coating is made of pure gold weighing 0.3 grams. It is noteworthy that the embossing on the certificate, which is attached to the gold medal, is also made with gold plating.

The design of the medal has also undergone some changes. Now the medal on one side has the inscription "For special achievements in teaching", and on the other side - a double-headed eagle has appeared. In 2007, an image of the Russian tricolor appeared under the eagle.

For your information: to make the medal shiny, do not rub it with an eraser. This will lead to a violation of the layer of special varnish and the medal will quickly darken.

Conditions under which a medal is guaranteed

  1. According to the law, the main and main condition for receiving a medal is the final grade "excellent", received in all subjects, within the framework of the school curriculum in the 10th and 11th grades. In addition, the top five should be in the subjects in the final assessment.
  2. The decision to award the medal is made by the meeting of the teaching staff, fixed by the director of the educational institution. Documents for approval are submitted to the local department of the Ministry of Education.
  3. If the student received full-time education, it is possible to be exempted from physical education for health reasons. Students studying externally and at home, unfortunately, cannot count on a medal.

These are the basic requirements for a student. But just being good at it is not enough. It is at the faculty council that the decision on the award is made. What can influence the positive decision of teachers?

  • As a rule, the teacher loves his work, his subject. Therefore, by showing interest in science, you can get the teacher's loyal attitude, attracting certain attention to your person;
  • a special “tick” in favor of the medal will be participation in olympiads, both district and city or regional scale;
  • taking an active part in the life of the school, no matter what it will be: creative competitions or work as a designer. Attention is drawn not only to teachers, but also to a more “senior in rank” composition: the director and head teachers. Participation in sports competitions, speaking for the honor of the school, can also serve this;
  • it is desirable that there is no recertification to increase points throughout the course of study.

It is naive to believe that by studying “somehow” for 9 years, you can get a gold medal if you pull up your studies a little. Whatever one may say, but the teacher's opinion about the student develops over the years, and it is unlikely that it will be possible to radically change the attitude. As much as possible, you can get the status of a "promising" student. Therefore, it is necessary to study starting from the 5th grade.

More recently, a gold medal opened the door to literally all universities in the country. It was enough to pass an interview with the admissions committee. But since 2009, medalists have been equated to all graduates, and admission to the university is based on the average score of the certificate and the results of the Unified State Examination. The only thing that the medal contributes to is that it will only add priority in the choice between two students with the same GPA, and sometimes this is a significant help in the framework of high competitions for admission to a state-funded place.

A gold medal is not just an award, it is an incentive to be the first, a reality to temper your character and show the qualities of a leader. As well as the opportunity to get into a fairy tale by taking part in a real ball of graduates-medalists.

Hello, I need advice. I finished the eighth grade with one 4. If I continue to be a straight A student, will this annual assessment affect the decision of the teachers to give me a gold medal?

The medal is issued only according to the results of the final assessment in grades 10 and 11

Hello, in the 10th grade I had 4 in two subjects both in half-years and in the year, but in 11 all fives, can I qualify for a gold medal? And can I apply for a red certificate?

There will be no medal

Will depend on grades in 11th grade, you will need to get 5 in both semesters

Hello! If a girl has a deuce in her current written work in grade 10, she has a chance to get a gold medal

Hello!
At school they told me that I should get an A in every trimester in all subjects, and in 10th and 11th grades.
So after all, the medal is issued for fives in YEARS, or in all trimesters for two years?

Hello, I have 4 in the 10th grade for the first half of the year, and 5 for the second and 4 in the 11th grade for the first half of the year. If I am in 11 for the second I will get 5, if I have a chance for a gold medal?

Yes, you have a chance. Because when adding up the grades, the average score is 4.5 and usually teachers help and give 5. But not all teachers meet the needs of the student.

Hello, and if for the first half of the 10th grade there are two 4, and for the second half of the year all 5, and for the 11th grade there are also only 5, then a gold medal is issued.

Sorry, you can find out if in the 10th grade in the first two semesters and in the year there were 4 in two subjects, and in the 11th grade in two semesters and in the year 5 in these subjects, respectively, all the other 5, can I qualify for a gold medal, Well, or at least a red certificate?

what is the procedure for issuing a medal in 2017? can a graduate apply for a medal if the final grade for grades 10-11 is one 4? Thank you)

if the final is with one 4, can I get a medal?

Hello! Need advice! If in the 10th grade I got 3 fours for the semester, the final ones for the 10-11th grade are all fives, can I count on a medal? And is there a silver medal now?

I have such a situation: in the 10-11th grade in all subjects except mathematics, five. With mathematics, here's what: the first half of the 10th grade - grade five, the second half of the year - five, I wrote an intermediate certification for a three, from which a four came out in a year. In the 11th grade, the first half of the year is a four. The second - five, intermediate certification - four. is it possible to get a gold medal?

Hello. I would like to know. In the certificate of the 9th grade there was one four in physics. And at 10 and 11 all fives, including half a year. What medal can I expect?

you have incorrect information, when entering a university, they do not look at the average score of the certificate (only when entering a college), but only the results of the Unified State Examination and the gold medal give additional points plus the Unified State Examination (up to 10 points, depending on the university)

Graduates with any number of fours and fives in semesters or trimesters in grades 10 and 11 can apply for a medal, but at the same time, annual grades in 10 and 11 should be only "5"

Only grades 10 and 11 are considered. In half-years and at 10 and at 11 there can be any number of 4 and 5, but only five per annum! I release the 11th, I know for sure!

Do the results of the exam depend on getting a gold medal?

Sorry, my situation is:
In the 1st half of the 10th grade I was 4 in Russian, but the year ended perfectly
Now again in the 1st half of the year 4 in Russian, if the year is finished perfectly, what kind of medal will it be?

1. What medal can a graduate receive?

Now schoolchildren can be presented to the medal "For Special Achievements in Education". This is an analogue of the gold and silver medals for schoolchildren, which replaced them in 2014.

A graduate of the 11th grade can receive a medal "For Special Achievement in Education" if he has one of the following achievements:

  • he will become the winner or prize-winner of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren;
  • he will score the maximum number of points in the Unified State Examination (USE) in one academic subject (Russian language or mathematics);
  • in all academic subjects, he will have the final grades "excellent" and when passing the exam, he will score at least 220 points in total in three academic subjects.

A disabled child graduating from the 11th grade may receive a medal not only for the above achievements, but also in the following cases:

  • in all academic subjects, he will have the final grades “excellent” and when passing the exam, he will score a total of at least 146 points in two compulsory subjects - Russian language and mathematics (profile level);
  • in all academic subjects, he will have the final grades “excellent” and when passing the exam, he will score at least 73 points in the Russian language and at least 5 points in mathematics (basic level).

An important condition: students who had violations during the exam were not presented for the award.

3. What preferences does the medal "For Special Achievement in Education" give?

Each university has the right to award applicants additional points to the USE points for the presence of certain individual achievements. In total - no more than 10. The medal "For Special Achievements in Education" is one of such achievements. Usually 2-3 points are added for it (in each university in its own way).

In addition, if several people applying for the same place score the same number of points, the advantage will be with the medalist.

Conditions for obtaining a gold medal at school

How to get a gold medal? A gold medal for graduation from school, or, more precisely, a medal "For special achievements in learning" is issued to those students in grades 11 (12) who have semi-annual, annual and final grades of "five" (in Ukraine, respectively, "ten", " eleven", "twelve") in all subjects included in the curriculum, and received the same marks on the state (final) certification. Students who are studying externally or who received excellent marks as a result of re-certification conducted in order to increase the score cannot receive a gold medal. The decision to award a gold medal is made by the pedagogical council of the general educational institution, agreed with the local education authority and approved by order of the school director.

Thus, to become the rightful owner of the coveted award, you need to make a lot of efforts. In fact, it is not at all easy to get only excellent grades in all subjects included in the school curriculum during two very difficult years of study (grades 10 and 11). But if the student is firmly convinced of his desire to become a gold medalist, his path to this award should begin with a conversation with the school principal. Having declared his intentions, the future medalist has every chance to receive additional support from the school administration in the form of necessary teaching aids, literature, and consultations with teachers outside of school hours. An additional advantage in determining a candidate for a medal will also be an active social life of a student: participation in olympiads, conferences, competitions and even KVNs.

As can be seen from the above, obtaining the highest school award is a very laborious task, requiring full dedication to the educational process for at least two years. The desire to become an excellent student, no doubt, is honorable, but does not bring significant benefits. That is why, it would be much more expedient not to chase after getting a medal, but to direct one’s forces towards decent preparation for passing the unified state exam and entering a university.

The attitude to the silver medal at school in our time is very ambiguous.

Previously, Russian schoolchildren who received a silver medal at the end of school had the right to enter a university, including on the budget, having passed the profiling exam with an excellent mark.

With the introduction of the USE, this privilege ceased to exist. Currently, the admission of Russian schoolchildren to universities is associated only with the number of points obtained in the unified state exam. The real help from a silver medal upon admission is only in the advantage of a student over another student without a medal with the same number of USE scores.

With the current state of affairs in Russian schools, receiving a medal does not give a student anything, except for the status of a medalist. But for the prestige of the school, teachers, the number of medalists released is still important. The school administration is always striving to increase the number of silver and gold medalists.

In connection with this situation, it was even supposed to cancel the presentation of gold and silver medals to schoolchildren, but after discussion it was decided that there should still be medalists in schools.

Things are a little different in Ukrainian schools. The silver medalist is awarded 200 additional points, which are so necessary for admission, which helped to increase the prestige of excellent studies, on the one hand, and the appearance of "fake" medalists, on the other.

The silver school graduate medal, like the gold medal, has been awarded for more than 50 years. Initially, the medals did indeed consist of real silver and real gold, but since 1954 alloys began to be used in the manufacture of medals, and after 1960 the name of the medals became purely symbolic. They are made mainly from an alloy of copper and nickel, and coated with a colorless varnish that prevents the metal from darkening. The medal is awarded for "Special Achievement in Teaching".

If you have set yourself the goal of getting a silver medal at school, then it would be nice to know under what conditions it is issued.

Conditions for obtaining a silver medal

How should schoolchildren applying for a silver medal study, how many fours can they have in their certificate?

Under the new rules, a silver medal can be received by any student of a Russian school who:

  • in grades 10 and 11 will have no more than two fours in each semester and at the end of each year;
  • and pass the exam not below the minimum threshold.

The conditions for obtaining a silver medal and the status of a medalist for Ukrainian schoolchildren are somewhat different.

To receive a silver medal, the school requirements are:

  • a student for the period of study in grades 10, 11 can have 8 points in no more than two subjects according to the results for the semester, for the year and according to the results of the state final certification;
  • all other marks should be 10-12 points.

The decision on whether a particular graduate will receive a medal or not is made at a joint meeting of the school council and the teachers' council. After approval by the local education authority, the decision is approved by the principal of the school.

Getting a silver medal at school, what needs to be done for this?

If you decide to seek a silver or gold medal, then:

    notify teachers or school administration about this;
  • determine the grades in which subjects can prevent you from getting a medal;
  • make maximum efforts in studying those subjects for which it is realistic to get a higher mark;
  • be socially active, participate in school social affairs and activities;
  • take part in school, district and regional olympiads.
  • Even if getting a silver medal at a school does not give a student any advantage in admission, it will give him the status of a student with extraordinary abilities (which can come in handy when entering after 11th grade). The name of the student will always adorn the list of medalists in the school annals.

    Fast questions and instant answers to them

    How to get a gold medal in the 2017/2018 academic year: what are the conditions, minimum grades

    Yes, the conditions next year will be even tougher. The number of gold medalists will drop drastically, I think.

    The conditions for obtaining a gold medal are both complex and simple at the same time: a student must not only have one five in all subjects in two years, but he must also pass all the exams without exception with excellent marks.

    I can imagine what kind of tremor will cover a potential medalist in the exam.

    Two conditions are required to receive a gold medal at a school. For the last two academic years in all subjects, have the final grade "excellent" and successfully pass the exam.

    Such an innovation gives a complete picture of the success of the student, because the gold medal is a prestige and it is impossible that its receipt depended only on the subjectivity of teachers.

    What are the conditions for receiving a gold medal in the 2017/2018 academic year?

    After the scandal of gold medalists, when one girl accused another at the graduation party that her mother, taking advantage of her official position, made her daughter a gold medal, the Ministry of Education decided to change the rules for awarding a gold medal, starting from the 2018 academic year, a medal is received after an excellent passing of the exam, when all exams passed with a grade of five in terms of points, that is, having excellent grades in the last two classes and having received excellent marks in all the exams, you can count on a gold medal.

    In order to get a gold medal a student of the graduating class must have final grades "excellent" in each subject. What is important - not only for grade 11, but also for grade 10. In addition, it is necessary to successfully pass the Unified State Exam, i.e. score the required number of points. Only in this case, the graduate can count on receiving a gold medal. More information about the order and the procedure for issuing a medal can be found here.

    If you want to graduate from school with a gold medal, then in all subjects you should have an “excellent” grade, that is, 5, there should not be fours. Also in 2018, in order to get a gold medal, you must pass the exam with honors.

    The procedure for obtaining gold medals was approved in 2014 (see the text of the Order here). To receive gold medals, a graduate must have only “excellent” final grades in all academic subjects for the last 2 years of study (for grades 10 and 11).

    From 2018, a gold medal will be awarded only to those school graduates who successfully passed the USE (received at least a certain number of points), and they will be awarded after passing the USE.

    Let's hope that now there will be fewer cases like the scandalous story in the Adyghe school in June 2017, associated with the undeserved receipt of a gold medal.

    There should not be fours at all, but if they were in some year, then at the end it is possible to retake this assessment with a commission and confirm your high level in this subject, you also need to pass the Unified State Exam with excellent marks.

    To understand how to do Who gets a gold medal at school, we brought in our experts with extensive experience to solve this issue, and here are some other options for solving this issue we managed to find, we hope it will be useful to you.

    Starting from 2019, the right to a gold medal will have to be confirmed by high USE scores

    The Ministry of Education approved changes to the procedure for filling out, recording and issuing certificates of basic general and secondary general education and their duplicates. The corresponding draft order is published on the Federal portal of draft regulations.

    The document, in particular, provides for the introduction of additional requirements for obtaining a certificate of secondary and general education with honors. “In addition to having the final grades “excellent” in all subjects of the curriculum studied at the level of secondary general education, and successfully passing the state final certification (without taking into account the results obtained during the repeated state final certification), exam results will be taken into account.”

    According to the new rules, a graduate will receive a certificate with honors if:

    • completed training in educational programs of secondary general education;
    • * has final marks "excellent" in all subjects of the curriculum studied at the level of secondary general education;
    • successfully passed the state final certification (without taking into account the results obtained during the passage of the repeated State Examination);
    • scored at least 70 points on the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and mathematics at the profile level or 5 points on the Unified State Examination in mathematics at the basic level. When a graduate of the Unified State Examination in mathematics chooses both the basic and profile levels, only the results of the latter will be taken into account.

    In the event that a graduate passed the state certification in the form of GVE, in order to receive a certificate with honors, he must receive 5 points in compulsory subjects.

    If a graduate chooses various forms of passing the GIA (GVE and Unified State Exam), he needs to get 5 points in the compulsory subject taken in the form of the State Higher Examination and the Unified State Examination in basic mathematics, and at least 70 points in the compulsory subject taken in the form of the Unified State Examination.

    Currently, the draft law is in the stage of public discussion, which will last until October 12, 2018

    The medal "For Special Achievements in Education" is an honorary distinction for graduates of the 11th grade who received the final "5" in all subjects of the school curriculum for the last two years of study. More recently, the gold medal "For Special Achievement in Education" opened the doors of all universities, but in recent years its prestige has significantly lost ground.

    What is the essence of the gold award for the successful completion of school

    This is what a modern gold medal looks like

    The medal for excellence in learning has been awarded since 1828. During this period, the award has undergone both external and procedural changes. For modern graduates, the medal is issued with the coat of arms of Russia and an enamel ribbon in the colors of the state flag on the obverse. On the reverse, it is indicated that the award was issued "For special achievements in education." The certificate of the medalist is made with gold stamping. Since 2014, the medal has not been awarded at the federal level, but the regions retain the right to encourage excellent students in this way.

    Award conditions

    Ball of medalists

    A gold medal at school is probably the first cherished trophy that students dream of. However, over the years of study, someone is progressively striding towards his goal, and someone puts up with the fact that stable high marks are not his forte and are looking for how to express themselves in other areas of school life. Both those and others have the right to their own path, which by no means guarantees a cloudless future.

    It is interesting. According to statistics, it is most difficult to earn a gold medal on Sakhalin - every 596th student receives a trophy. For comparison: in the Stavropol Territory, every 29th graduate becomes the owner of the award "For Special Achievement in Education".

    So, in what case can a student count on a high reward after receiving a complete secondary education?

    • If for grades 10 and 11 in all subjects he has high final grades. Previously, the requirement was tougher - a high score was required not only in final grades, but also in semester and annual grades. Therefore, it is now easier to get a gold medal.
    • If the pedagogical council of teachers of the educational institution decided to reward the graduate, and on its basis, as well as on the basis of the order of the school director, the administration of the educational institution agreed on the issue with the apparatus of the local education department.
    • If the candidate is not studying externally.

    What will additionally help to get a medal

    A gold medal is a worthy reward for hard work in teaching

    The main condition for receiving a high award for academic achievement, of course, is the final grade of "five" in all subjects of the school cycle. But there are also a number of requirements that will help schoolchildren become the owner of the coveted trophy at the graduation ball:

    1. Active social position in the life of the educational institution. The fact is that the decision to award is first made by the pedagogical council of the school on the basis of the academic work and personal qualities of the candidate. Therefore, it is very important to engage in extracurricular activities (subject olympiads, conferences, competitions, KVN-mi, etc.).
    2. Over the past two academic years, the student has not had recertifications in subjects in order to improve the score.
    3. The student studied the entire volume of the school curriculum in person. However, exemption for physical education for health reasons is allowed.
    4. The candidate for the medal was not exempted from the final attestation.

    Benefits of medalists

    To date, medalists participate in the introductory campaign on equal terms

    For many years, receiving a gold medal meant benefits when entering a university: an applicant was admitted to any educational institution on the basis of an interview. Since 2009, a law has been adopted on equal conditions for enrolling in universities based on the average score, which is the sum of the score of the certificate and the scores obtained when passing the USE. The medal is just an advantage if the average grade is the same for several applicants. Since 2015, this condition has gained additional value, since enrollment in the university occurs after the applicant has submitted the original documents on graduation. That is, if earlier a former student first assessed his place in the ranking of universities, and then determined in which of them he would study, now the graduate is forced to play blindly. In this case, of course, the presence of a medal provides a kind of insurance in case applicants have the same score.

    The medal "For Special Achievement in Education" loses its advantages over the years, but in any case remains an important incentive for learning at school. After all, the desire to be the first, the best, is laid down in childhood, and this forms ambitions that help to achieve success in adulthood.

    From 2018, the conditions for receiving the medal will be even more stringent. The number of medalists will drop sharply. Innovations will provide a complete picture of the student's success, because it is prestigious to receive a gold medal and this should be influenced not only by the subjective position of teachers regarding this or that student.

    A gold medal is the dream of many schoolchildren, a reward for dedication and efforts. This year, which was to receive the coveted reward, we must try hard. The criteria for receiving a gold medal are very simple: in the certificate, the student should only have a grade of "five" in any of the subjects for high school, and all the exams must be passed with "excellent".

    The gold medal began its journey in Russia in the 19th century, in 1818 the first graduates who studied with excellent marks were awarded real gold medals. After the revolution in October 1917. such awards were eliminated, and they were restored already in 1945. Until 2012, only its appearance changed. In 2013, the Ministry of Education decided to issue only a certificate with honors. But, already in 2014, the President of the Russian Federation signed a law that returned this award back to the federal level.

    Even 10 years ago, a gold medal opened any horizons and doors. It was enough to come to an interview with the admissions committee at any university. At the moment, medalists, as well as other graduates, enter according to the general list, taking into account the average score of the certificate and passed the exam. There is still a benefit, choosing between applicants whose average score will be the same, and one of them is a medalist, upon admission to the budget they will take a medalist.

    Everyone remembers last year's scandal at Tahtamukay School No. 1. Then when the graduate's mother was accused of using her "connections" to help her medalist daughter pass all the exams and the exam with excellent marks. Although after the checks it turned out that the girl passed all the exams honestly, she decided to pass the medal.

    After this situation, the Ministry of Education changed the conditions for obtaining medals. Starting from 2018, graduates will be awarded medals only after passing the Only State Examination for five, if translated into balls, and of course the certificate score remains unchanged - “excellent”. Some fives should be not only for the 11th grade, but also for the 10th.

    There is, of course, the opportunity to retake the grade "4" if they were in any of the high school subjects. To do this, a commission is created and the subject is retaken as an exam. Nevertheless, the exam becomes the first place, because if you do it poorly, then all previous efforts become in vain.

    The gold medal is not just a toy to remember the school, it is an incentive to be the best, an opportunity to show everyone your willpower and desire for development.
