2019 HSE Best Teachers Announced

The traditional election of the best lecturer at the Higher School of Economics 2019 has taken place.

During the elections, students voted online in the LMS module "Evaluate Your Courses", immediately after the mandatory module-by-module evaluation of teachers and courses. Each student could indicate no more than two lecturers and no more than two teachers of seminars/practices.

HSE alumni also have the right to vote: in the annual fall Alumni Monitoring, a link to which everyone who graduated in 2018 received, alumni could name three teachers whose work and help they remember most during their time at HSE. Education “at the expense of HSE” (only from a formal point of view) means studying in a “commercial” place - the same legal status as for students who pay for education at their own expense.

The only difference is who bears the cost of tuition. When a student is educated “at the expense of the NRU HSE”, the costs are borne by the NRU HSE on its own. This is the basic financial condition for a student to enter the university “at the expense of HSE funds”. However, this condition may change under certain conditions.

Clause 4.4 of the agreement states that “In the event of a violation by the Student of obligations for the conscientious development of the Educational Program, which led to the emergence of grounds for providing the Student with an IEP (individual curriculum), as well as in the event that a disciplinary sanction is applied to the Student in the form of a reprimand, the Contractor terminates making expenses corresponding to the Student's tuition fee under the Agreement.
