What could be the path to achieve the goal. Features of thinking of a purposeful person

Putting goals into practice increases our self-esteem; moreover, in the process we change and become better. So whatever your dream is - to make a million dollars, to become an artist, to become a world-class athlete - don't wait. Start your journey to it right now.

Steps

Part 1

goal setting

Decide what you want. Your first step is to determine what you want to achieve. Taking enough time to become aware of your desires is an important first step towards achieving them, whether you dream of big changes in your life or of something small.

    • For example, do you want to become a happier person? Learn to play a musical instrument? Succeed in sports? Get healthier? All of these are possible targets. What you want is up to you.
  1. Define concepts. When you have a general idea of what you want, you need to think about what exactly these goals mean to you. One and the same, at first glance, the goal is understood by two different people in completely different ways.

    • For example, if you want to become happier, you need to think about what happiness means to you. How do you imagine a happy life? What exactly makes you happy?
    • This also applies to more specific targets. If your goal is to learn how to play the guitar, what exactly do you mean by that? Is it enough for you to know a few chords to play and sing at friendly parties? Or do you aspire to give concerts? As you can see, even quite a clear "play the guitar" can be interpreted in different ways.
  2. Ask yourself why. It is important to think about why you are striving for your chosen goals. If you analyze your motivation, then it is possible that you will come to the desire to reconsider the goals themselves.

    • Let's go back to the same example - imagine that you dream of playing the guitar. You think about the reasons and understand: you just think that guitarists are always popular at school. Here we are not talking about love for music in general or for the guitar in particular. Therefore, it is worth stopping and asking yourself if there is another, easier way to achieve what you want - which, as it turned out, lies in the field of communication, and not art.
  3. Determine if your goal is achievable. Last but not least at this stage is to understand if your goal is realistic. Sadly, not all dreams can come true. If your goal is beyond the realm of possibility, it's time for you to admit it and find a new one.

    Part 2

    Planning
    1. Have a brainstorm. When you have set a goal in general, you need to be specific and start making a plan to achieve it. A great way to take the first step is to use a technique known as "free writing". Take a piece of paper and write down any thoughts that come to your mind about the following topics:

      • your ideal future
      • Qualities you admire in others
      • What could you do better
      • Things you want to know more about
      • Habits you want to develop
      • At this step, you should fantasize and imagine all sorts of options without limiting the flow of thoughts. When you see several possibilities on paper, you can determine which ones are most important.
    2. Be specific. Once you've thought of a few goals and written down a series of ideas for achieving them, it's time to start getting specific. Use your brainstorming notes and goal definitions (we talked about them in the first part of the article). Write down specific things - what you would like to do and achieve.

      • A vague goal such as "I want to play better so I'll do my best" is less effective than "I want to be able to play my favorite song in six months". Poorly defined or vague ("do your best") goals are nowhere near as effective as accurate ones.
      • Move away from general words like "I want to become rich" and concentrate on the specific achievements that you will strive for. Instead of "I want to become rich" your goal could be "I want to learn how to make money in the stock market"; instead of "I want to play the guitar" - "I want to be the lead guitar in a rock band."
      • It's a good idea to make some more notes, trying to describe the goals in as much detail as possible.
    3. Try using the SMART method. It allows you to specify and evaluate goals. On the one hand, in English "smart" means "smart"; on the other hand, the method got its name from the first letters of the five characteristics that the goal must meet. Check if your goals are:

      • S (specific) - specific
      • M (measurable)
      • A (achievable)
      • R (relevant)
      • T (time-bounded) - having a time frame
    4. Rank your goals. Many people have multiple goals. In fact, during the brainstorming process, you may already find that you are hoping to achieve more than one goal. In this case, you should arrange them in order of importance.

      • In addition, you will be able to visualize the process of working towards achieving goals and provide yourself with additional motivation.
    5. Formulate subgoals. Most goals are easier to achieve when broken down into smaller tasks. These are the sub-goals—small intermediate goals on the way to the main one you hope to achieve.

Identify obstacles. Finally, and this is also important, think about what obstacles may stand in your way to achieving your goals. If you think about them in advance, it will give you the opportunity to find ways to overcome them.

      • For example, you may find that guitar lessons cost more than you can currently afford. Then you will think about where to get more money, or decide to try to learn on your own with the help of a tutorial or video tutorials.

      Part 3

      Execution
      1. Make time. There are many ways to streamline the process and help you stay focused on your goal. However, in the end, achieving most goals takes a lot of time and hard work.

        • Think about how long it will take you to achieve your goal and how soon you want to achieve it. For example, you need 40 hours to master the basics of playing the guitar, and you want to achieve the result in a month. This means that you will have to practice a little more than an hour every day.
        • The issue of time cannot be bypassed. If you are really interested in achieving the goal, you will have to solve it.
      2. Get into the habit. To make it easier for you to set aside time to work towards your goal, make it part of your regular routine. Include her time in your daily schedule.

        • For example, from 18:00 to 18:30 you play scales. Then from 18:30 to 19:00 you learn and repeat chords. Finally, you dedicate 15 minutes between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm to gradually learn a particular song. If you get into the habit of doing this every day (or at least every other day), you will quickly master the basics of playing any musical instrument.
      3. Track your progress. Once you've started working towards a goal, keep track of how you're progressing. Keep a diary, use an electronic application or a desktop calendar to record time spent, subgoals achieved, and the like.

Stay motivated. One of the biggest challenges of achieving a goal, especially a long-term one, is staying motivated. Breaking it down into small achievable subgoals and tracking daily progress can help. However, you may need additional reinforcements.

      • Be true to yourself. The achieved goal will not be your joy if you did things to achieve it that you are by no means proud of.
      • Do not forget the words of the wise Lao Tzu: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step."
      • Write! Writing empowers thoughts. Even if no one but you sees them, writing down your goals will help reinforce your intentions.
      • Other people who are striving to achieve goals, even different ones from yours, can be of great support to you. Communicate with them regularly. If you don't have one in person, try joining an online community where people set goals and report back to others on how they achieve them.

      Warnings

      • Things don't always go the way you planned. Stick to your goals, but be flexible. Often things turn out differently than you expect, but not necessarily worse. Be receptive to change.
      • Do not try to insert a square plug into a round hole. If something doesn't work or doesn't seem right, try a different approach.
      • Try to set yourself the right pace. Often people on the way to a new goal at first devote a lot of time and energy to it, but then they lose their fuse. Beginner enthusiasm is always great, but don't set the tempo too high initially and you won't be able to keep up that tempo for a long time.

How to achieve your goals

What goals to set, how to set goals correctly, and the necessary steps to achieve any goal you set.

Good time to you! In the last article, we analyzed the importance that, as it seems to many, nonsense, success in any area of life depends in the first place.

And today we will consider: what goals should be set, how to set them, and what is generally needed in order to achieve the goals set.

By and large, I will not tell you something particularly new, everything has been known for a long time, rather I will draw your attention to some key points and give a simple but really working scheme that I use myself, and which helps me achieve certain success step by step .

I will not say that I have achieved great results financially, but the good news is that I was already able to get out of a deep hole in the form of considerable debt and loss of housing after my first unsuccessful experience in business.

So, with regard to goals in general, I am sure that the first thing that should be most cherished for any person is goal - BE HAPPY.

That is, you need to want not to survive, not to reach old age somehow, but want to be truly happy! It means living a life in which you will increasingly feel comfort, peace and joy within yourself.

And until this goal becomes paramount for you, some fears, laziness and excuses will stop you all the time.

"Everything comes true when the decision to be happy becomes a lifestyle."

But very, very many people, without even realizing it, live just the same survival, if only to somehow live. They do not try to change something for the better, to achieve something, but simply go with the flow, living in the usual (old) comfort without caring about the quality of their life, and believe the well-known saying - "Better a titmouse in the hands than a crane in the sky" .

Well, all right, if this tit can still fly somewhere, but for some it has been half-dead for a long time, its wings are clipped and it’s not like flying, but spruce-spruce weaving.

Of course it's very important be able to live comfortably with what you have, but you need to strive for the crane .

Therefore, it is simply necessary to set yourself the main goal of becoming happy. This is the most important and beautiful goal!

But the point here is that in itself this goal is vague, it does not indicate what we need for happiness. Therefore, to begin with, we will analyze what it may consist of, where to look at all.

What goals to set for yourself.

There are many areas in our life and each is important in its own way:

  • inner state of mind , this is the most important! If you mentally experience suffering, all the time or often you feel some kind of inner pain, then everything else (given below) begins to lose its meaning. And this is the first goal that you need to set for yourself - to find peace of mind. After all, life is first of all - internal state, not achievements, events and situations.
  • physical health , in bad health, for example, a person is paralyzed, even having a million dollars, this will not make him cheerful, money can only give some comfort.
  • Work(creative realization), if a person goes to work like hard labor, is forced to obey, endures and is afraid of losing his job, and every morning begins with thoughts: “God, how to live another working day, if only the weekend”, then one can hardly talk about happiness;

Take a closer look, everyone has some plans for you, colleagues at work, firms (organizations), the state and even relatives. Everyone wants something from you, but by and large, no one cares about what you yourself want. But it is very important not to ignore your sincere desires, to satisfy them and to do in life what just for you like and give pleasure.

Remember what aroused your interest or try yourself in something new, and listen to yourself what resonates with you in your soul. It can be any activity - dancing, music, painting, knitting, photography, cooking, gardening, programming, or even animal training.

And start getting involved in this, study and gradually become an expert, in the future, this can become the main source of your income, because it is in your favorite business that people achieve the greatest success. Especially now, when, with the development of the Internet, a lot of new professions and opportunities for self-realization and earning have appeared.

And for this it is not at all necessary to take drastic steps, quit your old job or arrange a revolution, act for the future just start experimenting and learning.

  • Financial(material) sphere, if there is not enough money and you have to worry all the time, where to get something to at least eat normally and give the most necessary to relatives, this is also not very bright and will strain all the time. I'm not talking about our dreams and desires - to travel, pamper ourselves, relatives, etc.
  • Personal(family) relations. A lonely person can live well, but he will be happy only if he was able, so to speak, to develop spiritually deeply, when only his own and existence can please him. But you and I are not some kind of enlightened, not Buddhist monks, and constant loneliness will be a burden to us.
  • Environment and friends , all this is also important for the joy and pleasure in life, besides, our success largely depends on it.

But you need to be careful in choosing such people and not be afraid to leave those who do not support and inspire you.

  • Self-development . Here I will simply say that it is always important for us to strive to develop, even in the smallest steps. We do not have such a thing that, having achieved some result, it would be possible to hang in this state and somehow hold back the development. We either move forward or degrade.

If, for example, you have excessive fullness and weak muscle tone, then it would be good to strive for the development of the body, if you are worried about internal problems and you often experience negative emotions, and perhaps there are emotional disorders, then it is important to take care of your inner world, study something and use to improve your well-being and its stability.

In general, you need to set your own goals in these areas, because all these moments together make us happy, inspired and energetic, and they will differ in some way for everyone, because we are all different, everyone has different conditions and resources, different predispositions and inclinations, and for everyone right now something may have a special need.

How to set goals the right way.

Take a pen, a piece of paper and, slowly, think and write down what goals you have now. What do you want from life? Write first everything that comes to mind, it can be 10, 20 or more goals.

Next, take another piece of paper and write out of all the goals described earlier, the most necessary , the most cherished 2-3 goals for you, without which you cannot imagine a happy life, in which you will give yourself with all your heart, which excites when you think about it. In general, determine what you will want to wake up for every day, what will give you the feeling that your life is not in vain.

By the way, one of these goals, for a given period of life, will take precedence over the others, this is the most what you need now, but the priority may change over time.

When you write these two or three goals, leave space between them about a third of the sheet, here we will enter “required actions”.

So, for this purpose, describe in detail How would you like to live and what to do? For example, I would like to do this, to have such and such a family, to have such and such, specifically in numbers, material income, where and how to live, for example, in your own house on the river bank, there are so many rooms in the house, there is a garage, etc., in general, describe in more detail and more colorfully.

And write not some unrealizable dreams, like: to have a billion dollars and to be loved by everyone, but let them be bold and hot dreams, but it is imperative that realistically achieved in some foreseeable future(eg 1 or 3 years).

You can take your time and draw up a list with goals gradually, over several days, now the main thing is to begin, and then, without too much delay, bring to the end.

How to achieve the goal - concrete actions

After describing the goals, in the space left, we write the paragraph: "The most necessary actions leading to the goal."

At this point, think about and note those concrete actions to take in order to achieve what you want.

And write actions starting with the smallest steps, what will be the first and what will be next.

For example, if you are single and want to start a family, then the first action would be: go outside and take a walk where you can meet certain people, or find a dating site. And the second step will be: without too much thought, continuing to feel embarrassed, go up and talk to a person, say at least a couple of words or write a message to him.

And if now these actions prevent you from doing excessive fullness and the uncertainty associated with this, then we set ourselves intermediate goal: “Start eating right and exercising in order to become more confident and attractive.”

The same applies to the most important thing - our health.

What do you need to feel good, be cheerful and energetic? And now think about how best to achieve this - what actions, where to start here and there?

These actions must be reliable, that is, proven, proven and effectively working, and not some of their own or others, little-verified stories and conjectures.

Example. For my good health, stability, well-being and energy, I need:

  • relax regularly (what specific actions?)
  • complete rest (when, how and what?)
  • playing sports (what sport, what do I like best, what will be especially useful in my case?)
  • learn (what exactly are the ways?), etc.

That is, describe the specific actions in stages necessary to achieve the goal.

Scheme:

  1. Detailed clear goal that we have set for ourselves
  • (most effective actions)
  • (... action)
  • (... action)
  1. The second detailed goal
  • (... action)
  • (... action)
  • (action), etc.

Fixing the set goals

After writing a leaflet with goals and actions, often find a separate minute and remember (dream), periodically look through this sheet, and even better if you at least sometimes (preferably more often), and for example in the morning, rewrite goals in a separate notebook, in this case motor skills will be connected. It has been scientifically proven that the brain begins to perceive the information described by the hand in a different way, more deeply and purely, and assimilates it better. Imagination and writing on paper are the most powerful tools for self-development.

It will also help if you record your goals on an audio player and occasionally listen to the recording. After all, it is important not only to know your goal well, but fix it in the mind, make it an idea and start living it . After all, there is nothing stronger than an idea, if some thought has built a nest in the head, it begins to control our life, and it’s good if this idea is useful!

I also want to recommend you one very convenient service, which was created specifically for setting and achieving goals using the SMART methodology. The service was created by Russian enthusiastic developers, it has all the necessary tools and the ability to additionally motivate yourself with the help of like-minded people and social networks. Probably for some of you, this particular method of tracking and achieving goals will suit you best. SmartProgress.do >>>

What should always be remembered

Dreaming and acting towards your goals, it is important remember the present , otherwise constantly thinking about where you would like to be, you lose the ability to enjoy life here and now.

It doesn’t work in life that, they say, I will achieve my goal and then I will live, I will become happy. In life it's the other way around at first you mentally relax and start to relate more easily to yourself, to your goals and life itself, and without unnecessary stress, without burnouts, you begin to move towards your plan, then everything magically, albeit not always quickly, turns out.

Therefore, keep a big goal for the future, but try live by one day , solving small problems as they come, and not thinking ahead about everything, and not bringing yourself to illness and the pursuit of achievements. A big goal, as a bright landmark to which you need smoothly seek.

Just do not forget that everything you do is primarily for the sake of your happiness, and you can be in a good mood and be content with life right now, and this, if not strange, depends only on you!

How to achieve your goals

Having set goals and periodically remembering them, start moving towards this, trying no distractions on harmful thoughts, useless and stupid people, quarrels, arguments with someone and empty activities.

And start now right now at least just do first steps without waiting for the perfect moment .

Many people make one of the biggest mistakes, they are constantly waiting for this perfect moment to start something. They spend their whole lives in this expectation, until one day their dream turns into disappointment. And in life very often this happens.

People think so, I’ll start when I’m ready, when I get more knowledge, or when my condition improves and I gain confidence, or in general, when some stars converge and there will be a sign from above.

In fact, everything is simple - there will never be a perfect moment, and you disturbing yourself change life for the better. You are afraid and listen to your fear, you do not have faith in yourself and your strength. Probably sometime earlier you made a mistake and maybe not one, or maybe someone told you some kind of "nasty thing", you believed and that's it. And now they are fixated on the fear of failure, which now does not allow you to do something necessary, and someone even began to think that he was in life.

And it always seems to the maximalist that they are not competent enough, that you need to gain more knowledge, although, in fact, you don’t need to gain anything, it’s enough if you just know something well and can bring real benefits, and perfection will come with practice and time.

And all it takes is trust yourself, trust life and take the first step!.

Of course there is a risk, but risk, this is the second gold, he is always there, and he differs from recklessness in great opportunities to make his life and the life of loved ones happier.

And often in life, one necessary action is more important than all knowledge, just like a few seconds can change everything. For example, when meeting, when all you need is to make up your mind and just speak.

Finally:

Surely, many of you have now thought, they say: “Ah, reluctance, I’ll write about the goals later, I’m not up to it now,” or “It’s not so important, I won’t write anything, it’s unlikely to help anyway.” It means that your old beliefs have worked inside you, which slow down and spoil your whole life.

For those who did, keep this goal and action sheet, review and apply it, it will come in very handy!

If nothing comes to your mind right now and it’s incredibly hard to think about goals, perhaps

Secret technologies for success

How to achieve your goals.
Fundamentals of the psychology of success

In life, it often happens that you need to do something important. You realize the importance of the matter, but you lack the desire and energy to work. As psychologists say, you have low motivation for activity. Motivation is closely related to other psychological processes: perception, thinking, attitude towards oneself. Changing the perception of certain objects, forming a new style of thinking, we develop a new attitude towards our activities. When a person begins to think differently, he begins to act differently. By accustoming yourself to new thinking (perceiving yourself and your activity differently), you thereby change your motivation for activity. There are several technologies that allow you to achieve high motivation with minimal effort.

Relive good memories

A graduate of the university, Sergei decided to find a decent job. To begin with, he chose the easiest way to search - to find suitable job advertisements in the press and call the phone numbers listed there. In addition, he decided to call all the recruiting agencies found in the telephone directory. Having prepared his resume, yesterday's student set to work. But very soon, after several unsuccessful calls, Sergey completely lost interest in activities (since the telephone conversations “did not go well”). There was depression, a feeling of helplessness, fear of new phone calls. He began to look for reasons and excuses not to call the phone number indicated in the ad, every day he postponed calls to recruitment agencies “for tomorrow”, etc.

The following psychological technique can help Sergei. It's called "Reviving Good Memories"

  1. Think back to a time in your life when you did something well. What exactly and why was it so easy for you then? Why are you unable to do something today?
  2. Recall a specific successful episode and try to relive it in detail. Then relive fond memories from other episodes. What were your feelings then? What is stopping you from feeling similar feelings now?
  3. Try to evoke those feelings now and get carried away with something. Transfer these feelings from the past to the activity that you need to do now. Link inspiration from past successes to your goals today.
  4. Write down your impressions, feelings, reasoning. Write a self-hypnosis text that you can reread and keep yourself motivated in the future.

As soon as Sergei remembered his successes in the past (victory at the school olympiad, academic success at the university, a successful deal that recently brought a good income), he felt better. Longing and disappointment decreased, he felt a surge of energy, inspiration, self-confidence. Then he took a piece of paper and wrote down the following sayings:

No one is defeated until he admits he has been defeated.
Faith in success, great desire, perseverance are the components of success.
I believe in you.
I know exactly what I want to achieve.
I won't give up on the first failure.
I will turn failure into victory.
I will definitely succeed.
Readiness for success is the main secret of its achievement.
I will do everything I have in mind.
Success depends on my efforts and desire to achieve it.
Success comes to those who strive for it.
Nothing will affect my dream.

Change your attitude towards mistakes.

It is very important to be positive (with a positive attitude) about possible mistakes. This maintains motivation at the appropriate level, encourages you to work on your shortcomings and weaknesses. Only those who do nothing do not make mistakes. Despite the banality of this saying, many people are terrified of possible failures. Most often, the reason lies in early childhood - too harsh and authoritarian parents who severely punished the slightest childish prank and suppressed any initiative of the child.

Over the years, children's fear of parents can be transformed into a fear of punishment from higher authorities. Especially if you come across a boss "from childhood", very similar to parents from childhood memories - cruel and authoritarian. Constantly fearing to make a mistake, such a person becomes passive, completely loses creative initiative in his professional activities. At the same time, really active people make more mistakes, but they succeed much more often than passive people. It is no coincidence that many foreign companies financially encourage their employees even for those creative ideas that “failed”. This attitude keeps people highly motivated and eager to constantly experiment and think outside the box.

Mistakes and failures should not be afraid; they need to be worked on, as they are very useful as a material for self-improvement and a stimulus to activity.

  1. Reflect and write down your statements that express a positive attitude towards failures and mistakes and the prospect of overcoming them. You can use these sayings to support your motivation.
  2. Carefully analyze a setback that you experienced recently (or sometime before). Think about ways to overcome them. Determine which skills and abilities you have are underdeveloped and need to be improved. Reflect on the methods you will use as you work to develop certain skills and abilities.
  3. Come up with several mottos that would help you respond positively to your own failures and mistakes. For example: “Mistakes are great! Now I know what to work on."

Working on his mistakes, Sergey wrote:

  1. 1. Failures and mistakes are good science for those who want to improve. Lots of bad phone calls? This is no longer scary, because there is something to work on.
  2. 2. Mistakes are helpful for my development. Now I know how to talk on the phone, how to build a conversation in order to effectively introduce myself to potential employers. I also know what I need to improve.
  3. Let the previous attempt was unsuccessful, but it taught me a lot. I won't allow it in the future. I am sure that having accumulated the experience of previous mistakes, I will definitely achieve success.
  4. I am fully prepared for the fact that out of 30 phone calls there will be only one successful. And the faster I get 30 failures, the sooner I get to my success.

With renewed vigor, Sergei began to look for work. However, he did not have to score 30 failures. Of the 24 phone calls, 6 turned out to be successful - in 6 places they became interested in him and invited for an interview. In the future, out of these six in 2 places, Sergei was offered to sign a contract. Another lucrative offer came from a recruitment agency, where he nevertheless applied. After some thought, he chose the most suitable option. So Sergei managed to overcome himself and won.

Create a situation of success.

Julia (a first-year student) set herself the goal of mastering the English language perfectly. After studying for about a month, she abandoned her studies. Realizing the need for systematic studies, she was no longer able to organize herself for daily work. She attributed the failure to her allegedly poor language skills, as well as insufficient willpower.

To perfectly learn a foreign language, you need to work long and hard, more than one year. And in order to keep track of your achievements today, you need to find criteria by which it would be possible to determine even a slight progress towards the goal, even barely noticeable improvements. When the overall goal is not specified, when specific intermediate tasks are not scheduled, it is very difficult to fix the changes. Imagine a person studying English hard for a whole month. A lot of energy has already been expended. Fatigue has accumulated. And the desired goal (knowledge of the language) is still far away. As a result, he drops his hands. After all, a person has set himself a goal - to travel 5,000 km, and as soon as possible, but so far he has only 20. Against the background of the goal, his current achievements are more than modest. They are practically invisible, no progress is noticeable. As a result, a person experiences nothing but longing and disappointment.

But when he focuses his attention not on the final goal, but on intermediate tasks, then it's a completely different matter. Then life becomes more fun and work is much easier. Suppose a person has set himself an intermediate goal - today you need to walk five kilometers. Five more tomorrow. The day after tomorrow - more. Walked 5 km today - well done, get some candy. The intermediate goal has been reached. The next day I walked another 5 km - already twice well done, the day after tomorrow - already three times, etc. The amount of achievements and successes is gradually accumulated. And along with it, self-esteem and the desire to achieve more grow. And this positive baggage stimulates to work further and not stop halfway.

Even a small success has a significant motivating effect, inspires activity. Therefore, it is very important to create a situation of success for yourself. If you have planned the stages of achieving the goal, then this may be the achievement of the first of them. Anything that you have planned and already accomplished can and should be experienced as a great success.

The “secret technology” for creating a situation of success might be:

  1. A person is able to induce to activity not only others, but also himself. When there is no desire to work (but you are aware of the importance of the matter), communication with yourself, persuasion or a request addressed to yourself, help overcome the difficulties of self-organization. Find the best motivation techniques that suit your personality more than others. Write down some self-motivations. What form they will be - sincere requests, peremptory orders, logical arguments, emotional appeals or rude curses - depends on you. Choose from them the best.
  2. Break down your end goal into a series of specific milestones and recognize the importance of achieving each one. Set as many specific (and realistic) goals as you can and strive to achieve them. List specific steps to achieve the goal.
  3. Plan how to achieve a specific goal (or a specific stage of achieving it). The goal should be chosen of medium difficulty, since the achievement of easy goals will not be experienced as success, and the achievement of too difficult ones will require a lot of time and effort, and often is simply impossible. What goal would you like to achieve?
  4. Determine quantitative or qualitative indicators by which you could record even minor positive changes in your work. For example, in sports, an improvement in performance even by thousandths already stimulates the athlete, because it indicates progress. In the study of languages, such a criterion may be an increase in active vocabulary, etc.
  5. Make every effort to successfully complete the task, achieve at least one of your goals. Have you achieved this specific goal? What difficulties did you have to overcome?
  6. Remember to praise yourself for having achieved even a small success (“What a great fellow I am!”). Positive emotions associated with achieving success are very important. "Reward" yourself with something. What prize have you prepared for yourself?

And what about our Julia?

Later, having taken up the matter seriously, the girl began to convince and ask herself: “Julia, I beg you, stop messing around! Take care of your mind, you are capable and so smart! I beg you, work on your English every day! You know that only systematic studies will bring results. You are a good fellow and you can always find at least an hour for this important matter. You are a real beauty, and others will like you even more when you master English.

She then developed a system of milestones that allowed her to monitor her progress in learning English. Thus, the student was able to overcome her difficulties in self-organization and henceforth daily (and not sporadically, as it was before) worked on improving the foreign language.

The author of this simple but effective twelve-step system is Brian Tracy. He has been a recognized leader in the study of success and personal achievement for over 25 years. His track record includes 26 published books and more than 300 curricula translated into different languages of the world. One of the leading speakers and business professionals, Brian Tracy has spoken more than two thousand times to numerous audiences.

How to achieve your goal in just 12 steps- this is what Brian Tracy offers us in his twelve-step system - simple and effective, and amazes even the biggest skeptics with its simplicity. By consistently following these 12 steps, you can become and achieve what you think about, and much faster than in any other way.

This system will take you from abstract vagueness to absolute clarity. You get a ready-made treadmill that will help you get from where you are right now to exactly where you want to be.

I have repeatedly read and studied the books of Brian Tracy. Once I happened to be at his seminar in Moscow with my daughter and husband. I was lucky, such people infect with their energy for a long time. My desire and desire to improve my personal effectiveness arose largely thanks to Brian Tracy. To be honest, I have not used the 12-step system in my work yet. But I really want to try to do it here, on the pages of my blog, together with my readers. I have one goal, I will experiment on it, I will inform you about the results later.

How to get things done

So, Step One: Create Desire - Burning, Strong Desire

Desire will be our motivational force that overcomes our fears. We make any of our decisions on the basis of either fears or desires. The more we talk about our desires, the faster they become strong and push our fears aside. As a result, our burning desire allows us to rise above our fears and move us forward, overcoming any obstacles.

Are you all aware of your strong and burning desire? What is it? It must be personal, even selfish. All the greatest achievements began with the definition of true desire.

Step Two: Develop Persuasion

We need to be sure that we can achieve our goal. If this confidence does not yet exist, it must be developed and strengthened. If your goals are big and require a lot of effort to achieve, don't try to do too much too fast. Otherwise, you can lose the presence of mind and faith in achieving the goal. You need a firm and strong belief that by continuing to do the right things, you will be able to attract the resources necessary to achieve the goal.

Step Three: Write It Down

This is the simplest action that not all of us do. It has already been said a million times that goals that are not written down on paper are just desires and our fantasies. If you write down the goal on paper, then you can then pick it up, touch it, examine it. Just imagine, we take desire from our consciousness and transform it into a form in which something can be done with it. Write down the goal on paper and turn on the mechanism of success at full power!

Fourth step: Make a list of all the benefits

Benefits will strengthen our desires and move us forward. You need to make a list of all the benefits that you will receive as a result of achieving the goal. The larger the list, the stronger our determination and motivation. It is very easy to lose your presence of mind if something suddenly goes wrong. If you have 30 benefits written down, it is safe to say that you will overcome all obstacles.

Step Five: Determine Your Starting Position

Before taking action, weigh yourself. There should be a benchmark against which to measure progress. The more clearly you visualize your starting position, the more likely you will be able to get where you want to go.

Step Six: Set a Deadline

By setting a deadline for ours, we program its achievement in our minds. It happens that people are afraid to set a deadline, afraid of not achieving their goal on time. Something like, "I love it when targets whistle past me." I assure you, there is nothing wrong with that. It's just that you weren't ready yet and you just need to set another deadline.

If the timeframe for achieving your goal is long, for example, 3-5 years, you need to break it down into subgoals, which in turn are also divided into time periods. Make sure that the deadline for completing the sub-goal is within 30 days. This will allow you to see results in a shorter time frame.

I once watched one interesting film about a girl who was advised to create her own blog, as she cooked very tasty. This girl had a book by a culinary master who lived many years ago. And she decided that she would cook all the dishes, something like 500 dishes that are written in this book in 1 year. If she had not set such a deadline for herself at the very beginning, she would never have reached her goal. Life always makes its own adjustments to our plans. And only by clearly following her plan, in spite of everything, the girl managed to achieve her goal. The film is called Julie and Julia. I recommend to look.

Step Seven: Make a List of All the Obstacles Standing Between You and Your Goal

Obstacles are the other side of success and achievement. It's strange if they don't. So then this is not a goal, but just some kind of occupation.

Write down any obstacles that might get in your way. Group them in order of importance. Find the biggest obstacle. It needs to be focused on.

Do you know that obstacles can be external and internal? They may be within us or within the situation. If the obstacle is definitely among us, then we need to strengthen some of our skills, or change something in ourselves.

An external obstacle may tell you that you are working in the wrong job, communicating with the wrong people, and so on. Find your target blocker!

Step Eight: Determine What Additional Information You May Need

It is necessary to make a list of information and knowledge that are necessary to achieve the goal. You should immediately think about where you can get it. The advice of a specialist or consultant in the field may be needed.

Have a plan for buying services or learning so you can calculate how much time and money it will take.

Step Nine: Make a List of People Whose Help or Mentorship is Needed

If other people must be involved in achieving your goal, make a list and rank the names in order of priority.

Step Ten: Make a Plan

Finally. So when do you need to write a plan?)) A plan is a list of actions. It's better to have a detailed plan. This is your road, this is your compass, on which you can start moving. This is the basis of your planning and. To draw up a plan, all you need is a notebook, a pen, and your goal.

Step Eleven: Use Visualization

Pictures can activate your consciousness, so you need to present a clear and clear picture of your goal as if it had already been achieved. If you don't succeed the first time, practice. In the process of training, clear images will increase the power of your thinking and like a magnet, the right people, ideas and events will be attracted to the process of achieving the goal.

Twelfth step. Decide in advance that you will never back down

Do you have perseverance and determination? In any case, develop your determination and never think about failure. Don't let anyone stop you from reaching your goal. Be decisive in your decision. Often, thanks only to the strength of perseverance, we learn how to achieve our goal.

So, we have dismantled a system consisting of twelve steps, the implementation of which, according to Brian Tracy, will help us to know how to achieve the goal. In the course of writing the article, I worked on my goal - the creation of another site. How much I will succeed and how long will my desire come true, those of you who receive articles from my blog in your mail will find out. Subscribe and follow the news.

I, in turn, am interested to know what methods and methods you, dear readers, use to achieve your goals. Are there similar steps you follow in the achievement process? Is there something else that you are using? If not difficult, please share in the comments below.

So that timid moment came when you decided to ask the monumental question “how to achieve your goal?”, thereby potentially increasing the number of successful people by one combat unit.

Today we will find the goals, if they are not there, we will make a plan to achieve the goals and move in their direction. This post allows you to put into practice the information from the introductory article on, we advise you to read it first. No, not for likes and subscriptions, but so that you can follow the steps of this victorious guide with skill.

A little background information before we start. Having goals in life, contrary to popular belief, is fun and wonderful. We call it the “Game Principle” (the name will still have to be worked on), where it’s fun for you because you discover new goodies for yourself, start completing levels faster and better, get better and, in the end, get the opportunity to win.

Goals guide, ennoble and help, it is still not clear why so many people deliberately deprived themselves of this cool tool, but oh well. The skill you gain here is truly priceless. Let's go.

How to reach your goal in 7 steps

Step 1 - description of desires

And forget about how to achieve your goal if you don’t have an overflowing desire to achieve it.. Therefore, at the very initial step, you should understand what you most desire? Imagine a day of your success. The very day when you feel happy, loved, prosperous in all areas of your life.

Do not think that such an outcome of events is unlikely, just imagine what it is, this day of your unconditional victory in all respects. What things could contribute to such a state? On the first sheet of the notebook, write down everything that comes to mind, for example: a loved one and family, a beloved and well-paid business, a healthy and thin body - write everything that you will have that very day.

Here it is important not to look at society and not impose generally accepted goals such as family, material wealth, fame and other things - these are all just average indicators among the population, but each person is unique, not all of us need the same thing. Think about exactly what you need.

Step 2 - Setting Goals

Before thinking about how to achieve your goal, you should understand what exactly are we going to achieve? Therefore, retreating a few lines from the entries of the previous step, we continue to write down: if the first paragraph was financial security, now write how much money you need, for example: $ 50,000 in your account and monthly income $ 1,500. If you want to lose weight, write the number in kilograms or centimeters. Specify each of your desires from the previous step.

Goals should be listed in order from most important to least important. That is, if $50,000 is the biggest impact on your level of success, then this should be your first goal.

Step 3 - setting a deadline

Another important thing is the time frame. The absence of a deadline allows a person to do nothing all his life and does not allow to determine the progress in their activities. If you want to lose weight, for example, by 5 kilograms, then write the exact date by which you are going to achieve this.

So, for each goal from the previous step, we add a plausible deadline. For global goals, let's say a deadline of five or even ten years is normal. It is already possible to work with such goals.

Step 4 - weeding out left targets

Before reaching your goal, ask yourself “why?”. Why do you need this or this, what does it give you, what is the point of it, what will it change??? When the answer to the question "why?" concrete, justified, pleases you and motivates you in itself - such a goal can be achieved, and the rest should be removed from the list immediately.

Check your targets for a challenge. A good goal kindles excitement in a person and puts him in harsh conditions. from which it would be interesting to get out and unconditionally defeat the situation. The challenge must be if we want to be motivated in the process of achieving what we want.

If suddenly you have reached this line, but you either haven’t got it yet, or you don’t have a single goal left, it’s not scary. Navigate now to and then start executing the instruction again.

Step 5 - Create a Goal Achievement Plan

So, now the funniest hemorrhoids of this whole undertaking awaits you - you need to draw up a plan to achieve the goal. It is mandatory because no one can explain to you how to achieve any of your goals without a specific plan of action. It's the same as wondering if you can be a magician without having hands.

A whole book could be written about making a plan to achieve a goal, but we will keep within nine points. By trial and error, a scheme was invented, which, in our opinion, is ideal in terms of time costs / efficiency. Gaining experience in setting goals, you may find your own more suitable scheme, but for a start we will offer an option that we use ourselves.

Choosing a target

If you have several goals, then choose the one that you want more than anyone else. Desire is the main selection parameter, because it indicates the degree of necessity for you of certain things.

Break down the goal into subgoals by year

If your goal is for a month or less, then skip ahead, and if it is for no more than one year, then you are starting. This is where you start if your goal is for more than a year.

For clarity, we will describe drawing up a plan using the example of a goal of $ 50,000 with a deadline of five years, but you do everything the same for the goal you chose in the previous paragraph.

So five years is made up of five years, so the first thing to do is to have a different page for each year (pp. 2-6). Next, we break the ultimate goal into subgoals by year. In the first year, write that you are going to deposit, for example, 3,000, in the second - 5,000, in the third - 8,000, in the fourth - 13,000, and in the fifth - 21,000 dollars.

You could notice the dynamics here: with the passage of years, the goal for the year becomes more and more significant - these are our personal preferences, it is easier for us to start small and increase momentum in the process. But here everything depends on the goal and the individual characteristics of the person, so it is not at all necessary to paint all your goals exponentially (although in most cases this will be a good solution).

Breaking the year into months

Designate a separate page for each month (pages 7-18) of the current year. We break down the goal by months, for each month we write the amount of money that we are going to set aside on the account.

At this stage, you can slowly remember what and in what month you can expect. If a session or repair is scheduled in a certain month, for example, then this month you can set aside less money or not save at all, but scatter this money over neighboring months. Correct immediately if you remember something in order to scribble less.

Breaking a month into weeks

The secret to steadily moving forward is to take the first step. The secret of the first step is to break down difficult, seemingly insurmountable tasks into simple and feasible ones, and start with the very first one.

Mark Twain

Write down actions to achieve the goal

Then the current week, logically, can be divided into seven days, but this can be done in the mind, and we will stop at the week. Now think about how to achieve your goal for this week. You know the result you want to get, it remains only to write the most effective for his achievement of action.

Actions may be different, depending on which of them you consider the most appropriate. These could be options like "ask for a raise" or "look for a better paying job" or "upgrade your skills" or whatever you think is a good idea.

Detailing actions by day

And while we don't break the week down into days, you'll often need to make notes that, for example, on the first two days of the week you'll read a book 2 hours a day, and on the last three days of the week you'll write an article on goal setting. All your actions must be described in such a way that it will be clear later whether you were able to complete them or not (in our example with a book, this is a given time of 2 hours).

We draw up a plan to achieve the remaining goals

Now you have a plan layout and one goal detailed in it. But what if you still have goals that you also wish with all your heart?!

You must understand that goals must be achieved consistently. Therefore, you concentrate on achieving one single goal until it is achieved, and only then begin to work on achieving another goal - this is the regime of maximum productivity.

Are there any exceptions? It can be difficult mentally and physically to follow the same goal all day long, so you can come up with an element of switching and paint in parallel with the first goal, some second goal from your initial list.

A good solution here would be to fulfill a global goal, which is periodically (not too often) diluted with local goals (those goals that take no more than one month to achieve).

The option with two parallel targets is especially good, when the achievement of a local goal can positively affect the achievement of your global goal, although it does not directly relate to it. For example, you play sports, and although it has nothing to do with your global goals, training raises morale and makes you feel like a masterpiece, which in turn helps you survive in great global battles.

If your second goal is local (let's say it is calculated exactly for a month) and you decide to fulfill it in parallel with the first goal, then find the current month in your notebook and write your goal in it, and then, according to the already known principle, break the goal into weeks and describe your actions by weeks (and days if necessary).

If your second goal is global, then you need to create a separate layout for it after your first layout. Its achievement will begin from the date on which the achievement of the previous global goal is scheduled.

We foreshadow your silent question: “Is all this waste of paper, time and energy really necessary?”. So, how much do you want to achieve your goal?

We set priorities

When you get to this line, you will have an action plan for one or more goals for the coming week. In the second step, we asked you to write down a list of goals in order of importance. Now we will do the same, only for the current week.

You have a given set of activities for the current week, just number them in the order in which you need to do them (this numbering can usually be kept in mind, but for clarity at first it will be better to number).

What is the beauty of this approach?

If you notice we have drawn up a plan here that requires a minimum amount of time and writing. The further away from the current date you are in your plan, the less detailed it becomes. No one knows what will happen in a year or five years, therefore, we consider it a senseless undertaking to describe such distant dates in detail.

Step 6 - Working with the Action Plan

Great, now we know what to achieve, when to achieve, and most importantly, how to achieve our goal in general. For now, it doesn’t matter that your plan is approximate and there is no guarantee that you will actually get to what you want in this mode. To start, there is a plan, which means there is something to follow and something to build on.

It is foolish to make plans for a lifetime without being master even of tomorrow.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Step 7 - Correction

With adjustment, everything is simple: if the final goal turned out to be too difficult, you can make it more believable. But here it is important to set a limit. For example, an end goal can only be adjusted three times. The limit should not be large, because you can live your whole life like this, spending all your time adjusting your final destination until it is corrected to your current position in one moment.

The action plan for the week should be such that you can complete at least 100% of your list.. Yes, 100% is the minimum, harsh Spartan conditions.

In addition to adjusting the final goal, you can adjust intermediate goals, change your actions, or, for example, increase the number of working hours - here you have room to maneuver.

When adjusting your goals, don't forget to think about whether you still really want to achieve everything that you have planned for yourself. Track the level of your desire, if it is low and enthusiasm disappears somewhere, and you can no longer motivate yourself again, then you should think about setting new goals that can ignite you.

What to do if you fail to set goals

Perhaps some of you have reached as far as the fifth step and found that you have nothing further to work with. Don't worry, one day you'll just be sitting still on your ass waiting for a miracle, until suddenly you're overwhelmed with such an endless desire to achieve something that you'll rush again with full pants of joy to look for recommendations on the topic "how to achieve your goal." No, we all understand perfectly well that a day like this never comes. What then to do with the goals?

What does it give? Even if you made a huge mistake with the choice, then you can get this information only by going through everything on your own experience.. Over time, you will form a holistic opinion about what you don’t like at all, and in contrast, ideas will appear about things that can be very cool and interesting for you.

P.S

Only 7 steps, and the question of how to achieve your goal seems to be settled. We believe that anyone reading this is in a position to consistently create a plan to achieve their goals and stick to it to the bitter end.

Remember to have fun in the process and don't be too serious along the way. We believe in you, otherwise why would we spend so much time and energy trying to create and bring this text to the masses?! Yes, and we know firsthand.

Are you still here?! Your goals will not reach themselves. Productive work and great success!
