Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education " Moscow Polytechnic University» ( abbr. Moscow Polytechnic University is a technical university located in Moscow.

History of Moscow Polytechnic University

Komissarovskoe technical school

For the staff of the Moscow State Machine-Building University (MAMI) (University of Mechanical Engineering), such a step and the beginning of a complex but bright history of the development of the university was the organization in Moscow of a small craft school, which eventually turned into one of the leading secondary technical educational institutions of Tsarist Russia - the Komissarov Technical School (KTU) in 1865. The activities of this school had a huge impact on the development and improvement of Russian vocational education. The experience and traditions of the Komissarov Technical School were preserved and developed in the post-revolutionary period by the staff of educational institutions organized on its basis, including the staff of the University of Mechanical Engineering.

The Komissarov school developed rapidly. The number of students increased and in 1867 it was reorganized into a craft school with a three-year term of study to train metal and woodworkers.

MGIU had a deep historical connection with MAMI. The opening of a branch of the evening automechanical institute on February 1, 1931, which received the short name "AMI-AMO", can be considered the prologue to the creation of the Plant-VTUZ at ZIL. However, the creation of the VTUZ plant at the AMO was not approved by the Supreme Council of the National Economy of the USSR.

Thus, in accordance with this Decree No. 1425 and Order No. 107 of the Minister of the Higher School of Economics of the RSFSR dated February 8, 1960, a higher educational institution was organized at the Moscow Automobile Plant ZIL - a plant-VTUZ on the basis of a branch of MAMI. In the first years of its existence, the MAMI was entrusted with the provision of the necessary assistance to the VTUZ plant. In February 1966, in connection with the creation of an appropriate base at the educational institution, by order of the Minister of the Higher School of Economics of the RSFSR, the VTUZ plant at ZIL was transferred to independent management.

Moscow State University of Printing Arts named after Ivan Fedorov

The history of Ivan Fedorov Moscow State University of Printing Arts began in 1930. By the decision of the Central Executive Committee of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR on the basis of the printing departments of the Moscow and Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institutes (VKhUTEIN ) was organized Moscow Polygraphic Institute. It became the first educational institution that trains highly qualified personnel for printing companies and publishing houses.

Initially, the Institute included three faculties: Technological, Engineering and economic and Publishing-graphic(with profile "Graphics"). The Technological Institute trained process engineers for letterpress printing, process engineers for flat printing, process engineers for gravure printing, process engineers for photographic equipment, process engineers for materials science. There were two specialties in the Faculty of Engineering and Economics: an engineer-economist-planner and an engineer-economist-rationalizer. The Publishing Department admitted to five specialties: book designer, newspaper and magazine designer, poster and children's book designer, book originalist, poster and magazine originalist. In 1939, the Faculty of Mechanics was opened to train engineers in the specialty "Mechanical equipment for printing enterprises."

From September 1, 2016, the University of Printing becomes the Higher School of Printing and Media Industry as part of the Moscow Polytechnic University.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated March 21, 2016, the Moscow Polytechnic University was established in Moscow by reorganization in the form of a merger of the University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI) and the Ivan Fedorov Moscow State University of Printing Arts (MGUP). Andrei Nikolaenko has been appointed Rector of the Moscow Polytechnic University (before that, Rector of MAMI).

About 2000 teachers conduct classes in 75 departments of the university. More than 29,000 students study at the university in various forms of education. Nonresident students are provided with accommodation in 10 comfortable student dormitories.

For conducting classes, the university has a constantly updated technical base: classrooms, educational and scientific laboratories, computer classes, gyms, sports and recreation facilities, a scientific and technical library with a fund of about 2 million copies, canteens and buffets are located in building 21. The university is the largest higher educational institution that trains qualified specialists.

In recent years, the Moscow State Technical University "MAMI", which until now is the largest higher educational institution in Russia, trains engineers and scientists for mechanical engineering, machine tool, automobile and tractor manufacturing enterprises, research centers, firms engaged in design, production, economics and marketing, service, diagnostics and technical operation of cars, tractors, technical and technological systems of mechanical engineering, continued to improve all aspects of his work. The university increased the number of students and now the university has eight faculties that train specialists in full-time, part-time and part-time forms of education, the faculty for advanced training of teachers of universities and technical schools, the institute for advanced training of automotive industry workers, the Research Institute of Advanced Engineering Technologies, the Center retraining and cycle training of executives and specialists. The university has signed agreements on joint activities with more than 60 gymnasiums, lyceums, schools, technical schools and colleges. More than 50 thousand specialists for the automotive industry of the country and about 9,000 specialists for foreign countries have been trained by the university only in the last 60 years of its existence. Graduates of MSTU "MAMI" today work at the leading enterprises of the Russian machine-building complex, including such as: JSC VAZ, JSC Kamaz, JSC "Moskvich", AMO ZIL, JSC GAZ, JSC "Avtodiesel" (YaMZ), JSC MIZ, JSC ATE-1, Moscow Bearing JSC, Shabolovsky Bearing JSC, State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation NAMI, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Research Institute Autoelectronics, NIITAvtoprom, NIIAT, NITSIAMT, NIKTID, at enterprises of the defense complex and others.
