What is the DFS method?

The DFS technique allows you to develop and effectively use your emotional intelligence, namely, to clearly manage your emotional, mental and physical state, thereby increasing the efficiency of activity in any area of ​​life.

Emotional intelligence is indispensable when working with people, it allows a person to simultaneously be aware of his current state, feel the state of other people, see the situation in which he is and keep in mind the result that he wants to get in this situation, after which he can translate himself and others to the state most appropriate for the situation. The uniqueness of the technique lies in the fact that it teaches you to do all this at the same time, without being distracted from your current activity, but simply by changing the state "on the go".

The methodology is based on the practical mastering of 16 psychoenergetic states intended for various types of physical, emotional and mental activity. Usually a person uses 2-3 states that are familiar to him (one of which is bad, the other is good), while other people can be in completely different states, which reduces the effectiveness of communication with them. Why is the technique called DFS - Differentiated Functional States?

The technique was developed using purely scientific methods, and the name bears the imprint of this. Now that the method has become available to everyone and has left the walls of highly specialized institutions, we had an idea to change the name to a more understandable one. But we decided to leave the former, and not the last role in this decision was the wide popularity of the method under the old name, DFS. What does this abbreviation mean?

Differentiated - different from each other, meaning a variety of states within a certain classification. The technique offers 16 states for mastering, each of which has special characteristics. A person learns to define and create each of the states and apply them in his life.

Functional - this means used in any particular activity. Roughly speaking, this is a strictly pragmatic approach, not philosophical research. You can put the method into practice and you will get the result.

States - perhaps this word is understandable. In the course of the work on studying the methodology, different types of conditions will be studied, which have their own characteristics. Until now, for the most part, you have entered into any experience or state not of your own free will, but by a combination of circumstances. The main exercise of the DFS technique is called "Fire Flower". Why and where does this name come from?

"Fiery Flower" is an archetypal image. It involuntarily awakens a certain volume of deep associative rows, deep semantic fields, so that a person is involved as fully as possible. A similar construction called "golden flower" is used in one Chinese psychotechnical system. It pursues somewhat different goals than we do, but there is such an analogy. The main exercise is called a flower, because during its execution the practitioner builds a kind of virtual structure inside himself, which resembles a flower. Why is the fire flower? It is very difficult to explain briefly, a long way has led us to this archetype. To date, this has been experimentally and practically tested and proven to be effective. At a minimum, we can say that the images of fire and fiery energy allow us to solve two problems:
1. Manage the psycho-emotional sphere, psycho-energetic tone,
2. Do not increase local blood circulation at the same time, unlike autogenic training, where, as you know, the working moment is a feeling of warmth (just hot, warm, my muscles relax) and at the same time there is a rush of blood to the place to which the suggestion is directed.

To what extent is this technique - the power of DFS - dangerous or safe for health, is there any official permission confirming the possibility of its use?

The technique is licensed, the only restriction in its use is that it is intended only for work with healthy people. Studies of the effectiveness of this method of mental self-regulation were carried out at the Research Institute of Psychology of the Ukrainian SSR, the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Human Ecology in Kyiv. In Moscow in 1986, a report was read at a conference at the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Health of the USSR on the topic "Using a 16-digit code to form differentiated functional states", where the technique was officially approved.

How are the classes, in what form?

Classes are held in groups, mostly participants sit, although there are also exercises where you need to stand, walk and sometimes lie down. All activities during the classes will take place in an active waking consciousness, without immersion in a trance and without the use of hypnosis techniques.
It is advisable to wear comfortable, non-constricting clothing, light shoes without heels. It is not recommended to drink strong coffee and other strong psychostimulants before and during classes.
There will be no active physical movements in the classes, so good physical shape is not necessary for learning.

In order to study according to your method, do I have to believe in some things that are unusual for a normal person, such as energy or something else?

You don't have to take anything for granted. We do not engage in empty talk and our classes are purely practical. And if we talk about energy, then this word will mean very specific sensations that you will definitely have during practice, in most cases - right from the first lesson. In this case, you will not take any substances or do hypnotic practices. You don't need to have any particular belief system, religion or creed to work with this technique. All these things are your own business. In the classroom, we will do purely practical things that will be useful to you in everyday life. Otherwise, we would be wasting your time and money.

Your technique is based on the ability of a person to feel the energy of his body and the space around it. But what if I didn’t feel anything like that and doubt that I’m capable of it at all?

It's OK. Many begin to study according to our methodology, having feelings similar to yours. It takes a little patience and practice. The fact is that our physical body is a magnificent, very sensitive instrument, the real possibilities of which most of us have a very vague, superficial idea of. Those sensations, which are discussed here, are very subtle and belong to the category of "subthreshold", that is, they are outside the zone of our usual attention. Over the course of 30 sessions, a person's sensory sensitivity increases, and he can quite calmly feel the movements of energy flows, the activity of energy centers inside the body, the quality of his own sound and the sound of the environment.
It is difficult for some practitioners to imagine what the “fiery energy” looks like, the image on the basis of which the “Fiery Flower” exercise is built. What can contribute to the development of the sensations that are given in the instructions? The pepper patch helps and, in general, the burning sensation that pepper gives on the skin. But best of all is sunlight, the burning sensation that intense sunlight gives is an absolutely accurate sensation.

Can a person, being a Christian, practice this method? And how does this not contradict the teachings of the Bible? Isn't it "devilish" to intervene and influence what has already been created in a certain form by God?

Can a person who is a Christian seek medical help? Even electricity (electrical energy) was once considered a diabolical invention. An active person, a person who lives with drive - is this "from the devil"? We do not propagate any doctrine, and with a pure heart we are ready to offer the results obtained after applying our methodology to a representative of any religion, being sure that they do not contradict any of them. After all, to be more optimistic, joyful, balanced and calm - these are things that all people strive for, regardless of religion. In your DFS methodology, the words “energy”, “energy centers”, “human sound” and “consciousness” are often used. It looks like magic or magic.

The technique was developed under strict scientific control and was used for serious government assignments. In our time, there has not been a unified scientific language for the phenomena of a mental nature with which the present technique deals. Therefore, to designate some of them, we took words that may have different associations with different people. We understand the shortcomings of these terms, and sincerely hope that in time a uniform language will be developed regarding such phenomena.
Energy centers in the human body exist by nature, and there are three of them. Most animals, for example, do not have a center of intellectual energy - they are two-centered beings. What is meant by psychoenergetics in the DFS methodology?

"Psychoenergetics" in the framework of our methodology is a complex of subtle radiations and fields of the human body. Thin, - because it is almost impossible to register them with ordinary vision. We can say that this is a certain energy that is emitted by our body, which, by the way, is confirmed by various devices. We sensory feel this energy emitted by all living things in our world, but, in ordinary life, we do not pay attention to it. Such a volume of a person's psychic energy can be within the framework of his physical body of a person, or go beyond its limits. It depends on the "energy intensity" of the person. We do not insist on the need to use this particular term, and in different scientific directions different words are used to describe similar phenomena. Our physicality does not end with the surface of the skin. There are some field extensions, radiation, heat, smells, gases, particles of matter, all kinds of energy things, that is, the whole totality of what is called an aura (such a word has taken root). And this part of our physicality also interacts with space. It is also possible to consider the following thing: space is one. It is indivisible. Wherever we single out a piece of space with the help of walls, ceilings and floors, it is still one and the same space. We cannot build a house outside of fantastic theories, inside of which there will be another space. The space is one. Its geometry may change. But it is itself, as such, one. Thus, space is that real thing in which we are dealing with eternity, infinity, immensity, transcendence. Moreover, we are dealing not at the level of logical explanations, but at the level of real interaction.

4B - HARMONY WITH ALL LIVES - A FEELING OF WISDOM, PEACE AND INTEGRITY

In this state, there are no trifles, all processes are filled with deep meaning and are interconnected. Increased resistance to harmful environmental influences. This state is widely used by managers, businessmen, leaders, when it is important to ignite the team with your idea and achieve the goal. When moving to state 1C, there is no fear of mechanisms. On the contrary, one admires the power and strength of machines. In everything buzzing and knocking, a clear rhythm is heard, to which you can adjust. It promotes any physical activity that requires rhythm: sports games, cleaning the apartment, washing, walking, etc. But after a while there is a desire to change activities.

2C - RELATIONSHIP GAMES

In recent years, the so-called psychological competence- that is, both good awareness and practical knowledge in those matters that relate to a person’s relationship with himself and with the people around him. To achieve the maximum effect in training, an optimal combination of "theory" and "practice" is necessary. One of the prerequisites for a person to be able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills independently is a holistic system in which he was trained, since it is when mastering a holistic theoretical and practical system that there is a minimum of difficulties with an adequate "translation" of any new and unexpected life situations. into her language.

One of these systems is method of differentiated functional states(MDFS), the basic course of which includes both teaching the practice of active self-regulation in the process of communication and various activities, and the theoretical foundations of constructive psychology that are relevant to the daily life practice of any person.

The peculiarity of MDFS lies in the fact that this technique offers a real tool to manage your psycho-emotional sphere in the process of communication, while many other methods focus on the role and behavioral aspects of interpersonal communication. The technique allows you to translate into a simple and easy-to-use language what is manifested through unconscious likes and dislikes, denoted as "life force", "psychic energy", "intuition", "psychological atmosphere", "sixth sense", etc. It allows not only to differentiate your feelings from people, situations, places, objects, but also independently, using a special psychological technique, to form the necessary psycho-emotional states. The DFS methodology has existed for more than 30 years, it is taught in many Russian cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Tolyatti, Kazan, Dnepropetrovsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, etc.), as well as in Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.

The DFS methodology was presented at the conference "Ecology of big cities"(1971), demonstrated in closed scientific laboratories (all results are recorded and scientifically confirmed).

The study of the effectiveness of the methodology was carried out jointly with the Research Institute of Psychology of the Ukrainian SSR on two groups - subjects with higher education and athletes, members of the Ukrainian national athletics team. According to the results of the study, an increase in the efficiency of the main production activity was noted; acceleration of recovery of mental tone after exercise; increasing the level and quality of communication skills, developing a sense of empathy; a deeper perception of works of art, enrichment of the emotional and sensory sphere. The results of this study are presented in more detail in the report "Using a 16-digit code for the formation of differentiated functional states", read by Kalinauskas I.N. at a conference at the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Health of the USSR.

Methodology alphabet

To encode states in this technique, the following two characteristics are used:

Activity level — physical (Level 1), emotional-sensory (Level 2), cognitive/intellectual (Level 3), or representation of all activity levels equally (Level 4).

Perception of the environment as a space of activity - this parameter combines the orientation of perception to the environment as a space of activity and the experience of a sense of inclusion in this environment; referred to as "rhythm". In this technique, four options for the perception of space are distinguished:

  • rhythm A - space as infinity;
  • rhythm B - space as a stream;
  • rhythm C - space as a set of discrete objects;
  • rhythm D - space as destructive.

Various combinations of levels and rhythms make up a typology of 16 specific functional states.

For the arbitrary formation of any of these states, MDFS students, under the guidance of a trainer who has undergone special training, create a so-called functional system: by concentrating their own attention in certain parts of the body and nerve nodes, they cause certain sensory sensations in the body, relying on which, they can further manage your psycho-emotional state in any life situation. The basic exercise for developing such a tool as this functional system is an exercise called "Fire Flower", which relies on the physiological and neurological structure of the body, is self-sufficient and highly effective.

In addition, the "practical" complex of this technique includes such basic exercises, the development and application of which can significantly increase stress resistance, develop one's memory and attention, gain experience in spatial interaction during interpersonal communication, and increase the degree of situational involvement. All this significantly increases efficiency, including communicative one, in almost any situation where the acquired skills and abilities are applied.

The main difference of this technique of active self-regulation is that it is used arbitrarily, consciously and without interruption from the main activity.

In the "theoretical" part of the basic MDFS course, students get the opportunity to get acquainted with the general provisions of constructive psychology and those practical developments in the field of psychology that may be of applied importance in everyday life. The range of topics covered includes the basics of dialogue communication; instrumental approach to man; acquaintance with the structure of the self-concept, the psychological mechanisms of a person, society and social influence; methods for resolving motivational conflicts, etc.

Probably, to answer this question in detail, it is worth going back a while. Or rather, for quite a long time. So, the last century, the last millennium. A small town in a country that has also not existed for quite a long time. A company of young, passionate and talented people, inspired by the idea, by combining their strengths and talents, to create an unprecedented theater, to surprise and delight the world, leaving everything that anyone could leave, and taking with them what they considered necessary, plunged headlong into the creative process . They did well. A performance was born, they created and studied at the same time, putting everything they had time to learn into their work. And it is not known who first came up with the idea that in order to create something unprecedented, you yourself must be different from what has already been, and know and be able to do something that no one knows or can do.

So the idea was born theater of states. A theater in which everything was as usual: a play, roles, texts, a plot, but it all rested on a complex score of experiences that were created with the help of controlled emotional states. It was as if invisible and inaudible energy filled the room, creating a given space, atmosphere, preventing the audience from remaining outside observers of what was happening on the stage and in the space of the hall.

Until now, there are people who remember how, at one of the performances, the audience entered the hall, where, at first, remaining unnoticed, the actors stood motionless, like statues, along the perimeter. And everyone who entered felt how, despite the fact that the performance had not yet begun, the curtain was closed, and the audience was only taking their seats, something was already happening in the auditorium itself, and this “something” was part of the performance, which has been going on for a long time.

What happened, what was found, discovered then? And what does all this have to do with what we're talking about all the time?

And this is what happened: in the process of searching for new expressive means in art, the first techniques of technology were created conscious control of the psycho-emotional state and discovered ways of building relationships with space. Such is the road from what seems to be just another system of self-regulation to the technology of another way of life, life in space.

And since the “Fire Flower” exercise became the initial and necessary condition for mastering this technology, the technique itself was called “Fire Flower” for a long time, and the exercise for building a functional system was seen as “the main one”. You will learn how to make a “Fiery Flower”, and everything will work out right away. This distortion of perception is quite forgivable, since thinking in a hierarchical order - from the most important to the least important - is habitual for most of us.

Naturally, at first it was difficult to see how effective, deep and multifunctional this technology is. The focus on a specific theatrical task did not give a reason and opportunity to see the entire widest range of tasks and the variety of activities for which it can be applied. But over time and under the influence of life circumstances, the actors of that same legendary theater began to notice that the skills that, as they thought, were needed only to improve acting skills, work great in everyday life. Their emotional stability increases, the effectiveness of the implementation of life tasks is growing, the ways of building relationships with both people around them and with the outside world as a whole are being improved. The technique went beyond the narrow professional application and was in demand in a variety of social strata, among people of various professions.

A serious test for testing the real effectiveness of the methodology was its application in the process of training athletes of the highest qualifications and achievements. Sport, with its clear focus on results, leaves no doubt about the actual effectiveness of a particular practice. He poses a simple, concrete question: will we jump higher from this? And the results, as well as medical and psychophysiological studies, showed: jumping higher, running faster, and throwing and pushing further.

Soon after the report on the methodology at the conference at the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Health of the USSR "Using a 16-digit code for the formation of differentiated functional states" (see Appendix 1), it ceased to be only a practical development and received a deep scientific justification. At the same time, the technique received its own name, which has become familiar and widely known today - the technique of differentiated functional states (MDFS or DFS). Its basics were published in the monograph “Alone with the World”, in addition, the “Educational and Methodological Guide for Teaching the Methods of Differentiated Functional States” was published. Over the past years, a considerable number of MDFS instructors have been trained and an opportunity has been created for regular improvement of their professional qualifications. The number of those wishing to master this practice is growing and expanding. It would seem that everything that could and should have happened happened.

But the fact is that the wider the tasks for which the methodology was used, the more diverse the activities were, the effectiveness of which grew thanks to the acquired skills, the more obvious it became that DFS is not just a method of self-regulation, albeit a very effective and modern one, but a technology , which makes it possible to build holistic spatial relationships both at the level of any of the tools, and at the level of a person as a whole with space as a whole.

It was then that it became obvious that further deepening into the subtleties and nuances of the methodology itself and the technology of its development is impossible without the use of the QS (method of qualitative structures) as a way of thinking about the whole. Combining these two approaches has produced remarkable results.

The fact is that from time to time, among those who master the technique, a fairly similar complaint sounds, which has already been mentioned: “For so many years I have been doing“ Flower ”, everything is basically very good, but still there is no exact desired result” .

Naturally, this could not but alarm. And this is what was revealed with a more in-depth look at the methodology as a whole through the prism of the ISS.

On the surface there was a mixture of aspects related to different integral systems. First of all, the perception of the functional system "Fire Flower" and the system of basic exercises of the methodology. And since this mistake crept into earlier publications about the methodology, I would like to once again draw your attention to the next very important point.

The "Fire Flower" is a functional system, which in this practice serves as a construction, a level of organization of such a whole as a psychoenergetic instrument, and, naturally, in no way can be a part of any other whole, including such a whole as basic exercises. methods.

The system of basic exercises consists of "Flight of the White Bird", "Contemplation", "Cinema" and "Zero-Concentration".

The construction of a functional system is a mandatory but not sufficient condition for achieving the results expected from practice. Only a combination of an impeccable skill in performing basic exercises and a well-built functional system makes it possible both to achieve a guaranteed result and to penetrate into the fullness of the content of the DFS methodology.

That is why right now we can talk about the methodology in full and finally present it not just as a system of self-regulation, but as a technology for building spatial relationships.

It becomes possible not to think, and the saying “fools are lucky” changes the meaning quite seriously.

The ability to manage your states gives a huge bonus in any activity. It is impossible to offend you, to bring you into a state of frustration if you do not need it. Excess energy and empathy always allow you to enter into a dialogue with those with whom you need, and establish cooperation. It is not easy to believe at first, but no external circumstances will prevent a person who owns the DFS technique from doing what he wants in almost any situation, for him it is only a matter of his qualifications and the power of the tools. And this will happen without any violence to everyone's pleasure. Simply due to the acquired skill of using the communication channel more fully, or, in the language of the author of the DFS methodology, due to the resonant interaction of you as a space with the space of the Other.

The main problem in mastering the methodology for me was and remains the picture of the world learned in the previous period of my life and the automatisms of behavior associated with it. The cure for this "gift of fate" is only the objectification of the acquired skills, that is, the performance of actions that previously seemed impossible. The training itself provides a large number of such objectifications in a playful way. But this was not enough for me. The most serious and truly transformative action was the application of skills in one's life, in the target activity. Kind traffic cops, nice housing department employees, skipping the line at the embassy, ​​carrying piercing and cutting objects on the plane, a green onion braided into intricate pigtails on the window and much, much more - all this gradually transforms my inner and outer world.

Yes, our press conference unexpectedly turned out to be very productive, but, in addition to its huge educational benefits, it is undoubtedly very useful for getting to know the locals in practice. People, as you can see, are different. They live differently, each solves his own problems, they read different books, they rejoice in different ways, they grieve about different things, but they found a common third voice.

It has been said more than once that the success and meaning of new knowledge and skills is manifested only in their practical application. Here's another great reason to practice. Remember the principles of building a Dialogue: I, the Other and the obligatory presence of a third voice. Remember what can serve as a third voice: the plot, the authority, the general system of criteria, or the witness. What was the third voice for these people? Perhaps, for some, the plot was the initial impulse: fate brought it together with someone who had already discovered the possibility of living in space and, with the help of the DFS, got used to it. Or someone read the book, and the author's opinion seemed quite authoritative and convincing. But in order not just to become interested or start to respect, but to take an effective concrete step, a much more voluminous third voice was undoubtedly needed, namely a general system of criteria. If a person discovered that in his picture of the world there lives the idea that the world is not a plane, but space, not only a set of physiological properties and signs and psychological mechanisms, but a holistic, unique, one-of-a-kind world, and that it can be the master and creator of his life, and if with all this in the picture of the world there is a feeling, knowledge or intention for the sake of himself, his creative realization and finding the meaning of his individual life, to learn and change in accordance with these skills and knowledge, then this discovery and is acquired as a third voice in interaction with those who live and act in a similar world. And therefore, we have the right to assert that the use of the DFS methodology to solve their problems will most likely be people who have one more thing in common in their picture of the world: they know that in order to be and be realized, you need to act.
