Problem solving. How to solve problems yourself? Expert advice

What to do if you don't know how to solve the problem. Desperate situations.
When difficult life circumstances come in our lives, we, as a rule, plunge headlong into our experiences, ask ourselves questions: “why am I doing this?”, “Why did this happen to me?”, which do not help us at all, but on the contrary worsen our psycho-emotional state.

We focus even more on the problem that worries us, plunge into negative emotions, devote most of our time to finding solutions and still cannot find it. We get frustrated and lose faith in ourselves. Most people, not seeing a way out of the situation, gradually come to terms with negative changes and continue to go with the flow of life, hoping that in time everything will be resolved and the current will carry them to a more favorable shore.

Remember, when we are fixated on a problem, we look at the world and perceive it through the prism of this problem, and do not notice the rest, and this can be the key to overcoming this difficulty.

You need to realize one truth: there is always a solution, and we know about it.
There is 2 important points to which I would like to draw your attention:

— there are no hopeless situations, there are solutions that we do not like
- due to the fact that solving a problem may require leaving the comfort zone, overcoming our fears, working on ourselves, we often block the awareness of such a decision, and we can walk in circles for a long time in search of a way out.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE NO OUTPUT?

1. Answer questions honestly:

How do you perceive your role in organizing your own life?
Do you think you can have a decisive influence on your future?

Listed below are some of the responses to difficult life circumstances. Your task is to determine to what extent they are inherent in you:
“life is cruel/unfair to me”;
“I can’t do anything about it, it’s not in my power”;
“I want changes, but they are impossible under such circumstances”;
“no matter what I do, it’s all in vain, tomorrow something will go wrong again”;
“This is a punishment from above, apparently I was guilty of something.”

If you recognize your reactions in any of these statements, ask yourself how often do you resort to them? The answers to these three questions will give you a deeper understanding of how much you really control your own life and take responsibility for what happens.

2. You need to distance yourself from the problem.

When difficult circumstances come in our lives or, as it seems to us, hopeless situations, we are completely emotionally involved in them and our attention is narrowed so much that we notice almost nothing but an urgent problem. When we get out of the role of the actor, that is, the subject with whom something happened, and take the position of an observer, we can learn a lot about this problem. Our vision of what happened is changing, emotions subside and we are already able to notice those nuances that we did not pay attention to before.

3. The advice to a friend technique works great..

Ask yourself:
What advice would I give to a friend who is in a similar situation?

This is another way to distance yourself from the problem, reduce emotional involvement and partially remove responsibility for the solutions we proposed. It is the unwillingness to bear responsibility for the consequences of our choice that prevents us from realizing how often there is an obvious way out of the situation and causes delay in making a decision. I recommend that you watch my video on how to learn to make decisions.

4. Fear of making the wrong choice is another reason why the situation may seem hopeless. As I said, there is always a way out, but we are afraid to make the wrong decision, and therefore we often begin to ignore the problem, try to find ways to escape from it, someone escapes from reality, plunging into entertainment, computer games, watching TV shows, and someone finds solace in alcohol, drugs, and so on.

It is important to realize that the right and wrong decision is a myth, we cannot know in advance what our choice will turn out to be until we set foot on the chosen path. I talk more about this in my video “Why is it so difficult to make a decision?”

5. Another recommendation for finding the best solution − give free rein to your creativity . Take a sheet of paper or a voice recorder, whichever is more convenient for you, describe your problem situation, and then you need to do the following. Time yourself, say 5 minutes, set an alarm, and start writing down all possible solutions. The main condition is not to criticize yourself and those options that will flash in your head. Your goal is to capture as many ideas as possible, and in this case, the limited time will force you to focus as much as possible on finding solutions. The next step is to choose the best possible solution to your problem.

6. If none of the methods I have suggested help you find a way out of the situation, then just give yourself time. Formulate your question and let your unconscious find the most suitable solution. At first glance, such a recommendation seems somehow magical and smacks of esoteric teachings. However, if you understand the process from the point of view of psychology, everything falls into place and the picture becomes clearer. Our behavior, everyday choices and actions are determined largely by our unconscious. In addition, often some ideas and desires are rejected at the level of consciousness as unrealistic, delusional, difficult to achieve, inappropriate, and so on. And the amount of information that we are aware of is very, very limited.

I like the iceberg analogy, where the tip is our consciousness, and everything that is hidden under water, that is, the main part of the iceberg, is the unconscious. The technique that I propose works great if you start to trust yourself more, be open to new information coming from the external and your inner world, be attentive to what is happening around you in order to notice the prompts in time and use them.

It is impossible to solve a problem at the same level of consciousness at which it arose. For some reason, this famous Einsteinian statement is always forgotten by clients at a psychotherapist's appointment. Trying to understand his situation, the client builds all sorts of assumptions, hypotheses and tries to connect a psychotherapist to this.

Two heads are better - and the second is generally competent - now we will find an explanation, an insight will happen, and the problem will be solved. This is how the client thinks, and as a rule, falls into a stupor when, instead of clarity, he gets a strange feeling of fog in his head.

I appreciate this state, and I always rejoice when it happens in therapy. This indicates that something important is happening. This means that there is an opportunity to go beyond your life paradigm, a little further beyond the zone of awareness.

All previous ideas have failed, so is it worth it to "look for answers inside" - they are not there. Just as the therapist does not have them, because he has his own outlook on life and his own ways of coping with its challenges. And God forbid he advise anything from his situation.

Truth, the way out is born somewhere in the middle, in unexplored territory. Another person nearby helps to get there - where, he himself does not know. Moreover, the picture of the world, the psychotherapist's paradigm can also change. We reach a new level of perception of reality when we take a different, different from ours, view of things. Such is the nature of the human psyche.

Levels of psychological problem resolution.

1. There is no problem, despite the fact that she constantly reminds of herself with vague anxiety, strange discomfort, a feeling of dissatisfaction. All this is attributed to non-psychological factors, so efforts are directed at relieving symptoms.

2. The problem is perceived as a psychological one, but it is explained, for the most part, by the influence of circumstances: the family is not the same, the country is not suitable, the mental organization is too fine, bad luck. An irrepressible curiosity about causes and a relentless search for recipes to "do something about it." Answers to "how" questions are most valued.

3. The reasons are studied in detail, new touches are periodically added to the picture. The problem is different, but still relevant. The state of "I know everything, nothing changes." There comes an understanding that the answers to the question "how" are not only useless, but sometimes harmful.

4. Spontaneous insights (insights) in situations related to the problem, which cover the sphere of emotions and feelings ("aha-experiences" according to Perls). So far it has not been possible to change reactions and behavior, but it is a matter of time (from this level). Along with the pain of accepting responsibility for what is happening, comes a feeling of power over your life, and this is inspiring.

5. The ability to track habitual reactions and patterns in field situations related to the problem in time, or with a slight delay. "Eyes are opened" to possibilities that were previously blocked or forbidden. Returns the freedom to choose to do things differently.

Unique technique!

In this article, you will learn about one of the most powerful wish fulfillment techniques “Glass of Water”. Also, with the help of it you can find the answer to any question. Water is a powerful information carrier and a transmission link from your subconscious to consciousness.

Today I will introduce you to another technique, it is called the "Glass of Water". This technique hides enormous possibilities. Now that we already understand something about the power of the subconscious and have already learned something about the amazing properties of water, we are able to understand and appreciate the full power and effectiveness of this practice by testing it on ourselves.

When to use the “Glass of Water” technique

  • For example, when you are struggling with a solution to a problem - and you can’t find an answer in any way.
  • Or when you experience acute pain (physical or mental).
  • Or when you are in a difficult dilemma.
  • Or when someone (or something) throws you off balance.
  • Or to search for lost things.
  • When you want to finally get what you have long and secretly dreamed of.

Yes, you can still list many different cases and situations in which the “Glass of Water” technique helps a lot. Like all the other techniques already presented, it also affects the hormonal system. This impact is produced through the development of a special energy - mental.

An important condition: the technique is performed immediately before bedtime. But there is an exception - this is the loss of emotional balance. In these cases, it is not necessary to wait until going to bed, but the technique should be performed at this moment.

How to do the Glass of Water technique

  • First, state your problem. Do not spread your thoughts along the tree - be brief. And even more so, do not go into details, do not overload the wording. For example, if your problem is feeling unwell, then say so: they say, I don’t feel well. Or if you are in a financial crisis, then don’t play around either, and formulate: “Right now I don’t have enough money,” and you can add what exactly.
  • When you have mastered the formulation of your problem, you need to formulate a problem. It is not necessary to invent it - just remember, it is the same for all cases: "you need to find a solution."
  • Then take a blank sheet of paper(small, for example from a notepad). And write down both: both the wording of the problem and the text of the task- let it turn out to be a single text, which, when performing the technique, you will begin to pronounce out loud.
  • Then pour into a glass of drinking water(Give preference to a glass of transparent and colorless glass).
  • Add a few drops of pure lemon juice to the water and mix thoroughly.
  • Take the glass in your hands, holding it with four fingers: forefinger and thumb.
  • Then close your eyes and say the text aloud from memory that you prepared (problem statement + task).
  • Then mentally add a delegation phrase: "That's enough for me to solve my problem."
  • And slowly, with gusto(possible with stops) Drink exactly half of all the water in the glass. However, it's okay if you drink a little more than half - accounting accuracy is not required here.
  • Important! While drinking water, you should have nothing in your thoughts except the delegation phrase: mentally pronounce it while you take sips.
  • Cover the glass with the second half of water with the piece of paper on which you wrote the text of the problem and task, and put next to your bed, at the head.
  • In the morning, drink the remaining half of the water - and also with one single thought. This one: "Thank you!"
  • Mentally pronounce this word until you finish drinking all the water.
  • You can throw away the sheet- with the understanding that he did his job.

Because b be careful over the next 3 days - so as not to miss the decision(Three days is, of course, a conditional period). A solution may dawn on you already on the first night, but 3 days is usually the deadline: that is, in this period of time the decision arrives.

Please keep in mind: there will be no miracles. Decisions are usually so simple that they are sometimes dismissed - not taken seriously. Don't succumb to this risk - don't expect anything "special" and confusing. Remember: there is a simple solution for every problem you have. And it's always the best.

How it works

Do you know that water is a sensitive, finely tuned store of information? And it is already known that, hearing this or that information, it changes its structure. And this is also no secret to anyone: the lemon juice you add to water is an acid and it turns the water into an electrolyte(more precisely, it noticeably enhances the electrical conductivity of water). The operation of electrolyte batteries is based on this principle.

When you speak your text(problem statement + task), water takes this information and adjusts its structure to it- i.e becomes the physical equivalent of spoken words. When you mentally send a delegation phrase, you are transferring a very specific electrical impulse (energy) to the water.

When you close your fingers on the glass, you close this energy - you do not allow it to dissipate.

And when you drink water, you direct the energy saturated with specific information into the body. This is a matrix - a request program (it is also called an intention).

And since you think not only with the brain (as is commonly believed), but with every cell, this is what happens: you are completely, with each of your cells, saturated with the energy of intention - to find a solution to your problem. The energy of intention is a very powerful energy that will not calm down until it connects the energy of the problem with the energy of its (problem) solution.

Why divide the water into 2 servings?

This is a ritual action that you address to your subconscious- after all, it is the energy of intention that appeals to him, the request is transmitted to the subconscious: the first - to find a solution, and the second - to provide a solution to the problem.

Therefore, the night portion is a request for a solution, and the morning portion is a request for a solution. And - most importantly - an announcement of your readiness to accept it.

This is exactly why you say “thank you” in your thoughts - to let your subconscious know that you are sure that the solution is ready. This way you are open to receiving a ready-made solution.

Why is the technique performed at night?

And so that you don’t phon, you wouldn’t create any noise with an incessant stream of your thoughts (very different). In sleep, consciousness rests - and does not create any noise. And the subconscious works without interference - and only on the task that has arrived.

As you understand, the topic of this article will be devoted to finding effective ways to help solve the problem. Many people simply immerse themselves in the problem, making it even bigger. It's kind of like a pain. Imagine that you have a sore on your hand that does not heal because you scratch it. In addition, it not only does not heal, but becomes even larger. And some people, having no problems, come up with them. You can read about this in the article - It is described in detail there.

How to solve the problem?

You know what Laura Silva says: "Either solve your problems or stop whining". So the first step in solving the problem is to renounce the problem. That is, you do not plunge into it with your head, do not ask questions: “Well, why did this happen to me?”, "How can I solve this problem?", “Why is it always me… why am I?” etc. Instead, you begin to see the problem not as your own, but as someone else's. You have probably noticed how skillfully we solve other people's problems. They are not ours, they don’t hurt us, they don’t cause bad emotions, you remain cool and sober, which means problem solving comes to you very quickly and in several variants.

Many people think that only they have problems and others do not. The fact is that our whole life consists of choice, decision-making and, of course,. You can't hide from them anywhere. It's just that some have more and some have less. It also depends on the person, on their point of view. After all, what some people consider problems, others think it is. Good luck because now you can do so-and-so. As they say: . So that second step in problem solving a new perspective on these issues.

Let's look at an example here. For example, someone was fired from their job. What do most people do? At first they are indignant, swearing obscenities, repeating that they were not treated fairly, lashing out at loved ones, biting their nails. This is a normal reaction. In my opinion, this needs to be done. But what happens next? Time passes, and a person, instead of solving his problem with unemployment, begins to lie on the couch with beer in front of the TV and mentally resent that he was treated badly. Here is the same sore that does not heal due to the fact that he scratches it. Then the problem really becomes a problem.

What is the minority doing? They analyze what happened with a cool head, then ask themselves the question: "What can I do to solve this problem", “How do I solve the problem in the best way for me?”. Then they look at options, and what happens is they get a new job that is so much better than the one they got fired from, or they open their own business and start working for themselves. And when you work for yourself, no one can fire you. In short, in this way people find new opportunities that they have not seen before. For them, the black stripe really becomes a take-off. And all because they are thinking about solving problems, and not poking around in what happened.

So if something happened to you, first calm down, and then, with a cool head, start asking yourself promotional questions: "How to solve the problem?", "What do I need to fix the situation", “What can I do now to get out of this impasse?”. As I said, the answer will definitely come to you. By the way, here's an article for you - It says how failure becomes success.

So, we got acquainted with the first two methods, namely: detachment from the problem and asking yourself propulsive questions. They are damn commonplace, so now let's move on to heavy artillery.

How to solve the problem?

So, as you understand, in order to solve problems, you first need to emotionally calm down. But how to do it, because emotions just overflow? Here is where we can help! I am not kidding. It is at the alpha level that all problems are solved, restrictions are removed, all diseases are treated. If you don't believe me, you can read the article -. There, Laura talks about how meditation effectively helps solve problems. I highly recommend you read it. Get a lot of impressions.

So!!! The first thing you should do is sit yourself on the sofa. This is not so easy to do, because thoughts about the problem just swarm in my head. So this is the hardest step. Here I advise you two options: the first is to wait until the emotions subside (then it will be easier for you to sit on the sofa), the second is to take a warm bath and lie down there. For some reason, we always climb into a warm bath willingly. It is the second method that I suggest to you. Just in the bath or shower you relax as much as possible. And it is at this moment that non-standard ideas for solving problems can come to you. As Einstein said: "Why do all the best ideas come to me during the shower?". You just literally do not understand, otherwise it turns out really funny !!!

So, it turned out to relax, however, in order to solve the problem, you should visit the alpha level as long as possible. The solution to the problem does not come immediately (although anything can happen). Therefore, I recommend that you download a special sound that contains alpha tempo rhythms. You can download by going to the article -. Also, I recommend that you visit the pages - and. All this will help you relax as much as possible and. If you do this, then consider that you have solved your problem.

The following powerful problem solving tool that I will give you will definitely help you solve the problem. Only a few know about it, and you are lucky that you are on this page. In combination with the above tips, you will not have a single problem that you cannot solve. This method is called -. I already wrote about him, you can read. This method takes a lot of time, and its effectiveness cannot be overestimated. You just take a piece of A4 sheet, write a question at the top of the sheet: "How do I solve a problem related to..." and write down all the thoughts that come into your head. I don't care what you write there. You can write absolute nonsense. The main thing is to answer the question and write without stopping.

This method helps to turn off logical thinking, increases focus many times, connects. The main thing here is to write and write without stopping. The solution may surface in five hours, or even longer. The main thing is not to give up!!! Thus, you will find solutions to any problems, any difficulties.

Finally, I want to tell you that it would be better if you "problem" replace with the word "situation". Word "problem" very poorly perceived at the subconscious level, causes black colors, unpleasant sensations. And here is the word "situation" perceived much nicer than the word "problem". Such a replacement will also help you solve problems in the best way.

Summary:

  1. We change the word "problem" on word "situation".
  2. We renounce the problem (we perceive it as not our own).
  3. We relax as much as possible (go to the alpha level).
  4. Take a sheet, ask a question "How to solve the problem?", a "How to solve the situation?" and write whatever comes to mind.

Well good luck to you in solving trials ..., situations.

how to solve a problem, problem solving

Like

Each of us, one way or another, is constantly faced with various tasks and problems. These can be problems of a personal and business nature, unresolved issues that turn into problems over time, personal responsibility for making a particular decision.

It is not always possible for everyone to find the best way out of the situation. Most often in order to find an effective solution lacking experience, wisdom, time or knowledge. There are many different techniques for finding solutions, and the main challenge is which technique is right for you or your particular situation.

Recently there have been claims that there are no problems. There are only tasks that need to be solved. Problems exist only in our heads. There are many opinions on this subject, and in principle, everyone is free to think in their own way. But since the word "solution" is more like the word "problem", let's try to view our problems as problems, so it will be easier to solve them. We all learned to solve problems at school: with one unknown, with two unknowns, there were even those when there seemed to be very little initial data for solving it.

So in life, when you are at first glance in an unsolvable situation, at first it seems that it is almost impossible to cope alone, but starting to unravel the tangle of questions, it becomes clear that the solution has been found and found correctly.

How can we make sure that in any situation we act according to the same algorithm, which has previously proven its effectiveness? The answer is tritely simple - to create your own personal decision-making system, and hone the skill of finding effective solutions to automatism.

“If we understand that any problem or task has a solution, then our thoughts will not focus on our attitude towards it, but on what to do to make one task or problem less.”

“The hopelessness of a situation is most often not in the absence of a way out of it, but in the inability to find it.”

“All our difficulties are to a greater extent connected with the fact that what do we think of them not with the true state of affairs. Therefore, the problem is not what exactly happened but in that how do we react to what happened."

“The paradoxes and patterns of our life and business are such that for the absence of problems, you have to pay ... the lack of success!”

Wise thoughts, aphorisms, sometimes like echoes from distant worlds and centuries, are often good helpers and advisers in various situations. This is someone's experience. But we habitually want to step on our own, and not on someone else's rake, so we most often evaluate the value of advice after ...

Let's see how those who already know how to do this find solutions to problems and problems. Note that we now have an important task: to learn how to find the most effective solution.

Techniques for finding an effective solution

1. Make sure you solve the problem you need. It is important not to forget: "The main attention is on the main things."

2. In second place, I will put the ability to ask yourself the right questions. Remember, sometimes someone's question can radically change the attitude to the problem and look at it from a different angle. Questions are also needed in order to analyze the current situation, to understand what we need to build on and what resources we have.

Coaches have the ability to ask questions. A coach is a person who professionally solves other people's problems. In their practice, coaches use a technique in which they artificially create a situation in which a person must find his own correct and effective solution. The decision that he implements with great desire and pleasure.

Brian Tracy states that successful people spend 25% of their time on a task. Indeed, our inability to determine the true cause of the situation, hello to the fact that this problem can be repeated again and again in different variations.

3. An effective tool in finding the most effective solution can be a simple brainstorming session conducted among colleagues, employees, friends, family members. In such cases, they say: "One head is good, but two is better." Moreover, ideal and creative ways of solving a problem often emerge in such an environment. Having several options in hand, the main task will be to choose the best one. In this case, it will be useful to know how to make the right choice.

4. The “Six Thinking Hats” method, invented by Edward de Bono, is considered effective for evaluating provocative and unusual ideas, innovative proposals and situations.

Considering that collective opinion is often a struggle of different opinions, the Six Thinking Hats method encourages participants to think in parallel. To do this, participants wear hats of different colors, and look at the task from the perspective of the corresponding color of the hat. First, a proposal is voiced, and then each participant takes turns putting on hats:

The white hat is the information hat. In a white hat, you can be asked to provide additional information, figures, facts that will help assess the situation.

The red hat is the hat of emotions. You can describe the emotions that this sentence evokes.

The yellow hat is the hat of optimism. Even if the idea seems bad, you need to find positive aspects in it.

Black hat- hat of pessimism. Even if the idea is great, you need to find flaws and threats in it.

The green hat is the hat of growth and opportunity. Everyone can suggest ways to improve the idea so that it works better.

The blue hat is the process hat. Wearing a blue hat, people are included in the process of thinking about it. Purpose: to find out how effective this method of evaluation of the proposal.

With the help of the "Six Thinking Hats" method in corporations, they solve the problems of staff turnover or the exchange of electronic document management.

5. Find the maximum amount of information on the subject. In this case, it will also be necessary to choose from the available arsenal and adapt someone's effective solution to a specific situation. Try to read good business literature, accumulate knowledge. Read more, analyze what you read, memorize information.

6. The most favorite and fastest search for the right and effective solution is to flip a coin. This is the case when there are so many good options that it becomes difficult to decide.

I came across a translation of a poem by Peter Hayne on this occasion:

If you are a prisoner of doubts of torment,

They are locked up like a cage.

Wise of all, do not laugh, friend, -

Flip up a coin.

Only a penny to rush into the air,

The world will only get shorter.

You suddenly realize

What do you secretly want?

7. It would be nice to hear your intuition. Sometimes, in extreme situations, the subconscious is able to offer the best way out. Trusting your intuition, you need to remember about the likelihood of errors.

8. I accidentally stumbled upon the “Horse” technique, which, I think, has the right to life in some cases. When there is no strength left, and the solution has not yet been found, go to bed. “Morning is wiser than evening,” our grandmothers used to say. Just before going to bed, mentally think about the task and say: "Let the horse think about it."

In this way, you let go of the problem, and if the obsessive task bothers you, tell yourself that now this is not your task, that now the Horse is thinking about it. Having thus relieved tension and believing that the Horse has the answer, the author of the method advises thanking the Horse when the answer comes to your mind or puts it into the mouth of another person.

9. Silva glass of water technique. With this method, you can use the latent abilities of consciousness. This is essentially self-hypnosis, and it stimulates the creativity of our brain through the use of both hemispheres.

Before going to bed, fill a glass with clean water and drink half. Then close your eyes and look slightly up. Mentally say, "This is all I need to do to find a solution to the problem I'm thinking about." After that, let go of the problem and stop thinking about it - you have transferred it to your consciousness for consideration.

Waking up in the morning, drink the second half of the water and do the same steps as before going to bed. People who use this method believe that the solution comes either at night in a dream, or in the form of some random clue. This method is very similar to the "Horse" technique, probably in search of an effective solution, people invented many similar methods in case the idea did not occur at all.

10. And now, when the only solution is nevertheless found, it can be checked against the criteria "What should be an effective solution."

  • Our decision is justified.
  • Our decision is real, we have all the resources to implement it.
  • Our solution can be decomposed into simple components.
  • Our decision is timely. His performance is still relevant.
  • Our solution is flexible. It can be adapted to changing conditions.
  • Our decision should bring maximum benefit.
  • Our solution provides control over its execution.

Friends, none of us is immune from making the wrong decisions. You need to understand this and try to get rid of this fear. The only sensible way to deal with problems and challenges is to create momentum as quickly as possible. Do not let everything take its course, but start taking action. In the process of movement, means and ways of solving the problem, usually hidden from us, necessarily appear.
