Rostov Water College named after Ushakov. Basic information

About the university

The branch of FGOU VPO "MARITIME STATE ACADEMY NAMED AFTER ADMIRAL F.F.USHAKOV" in the city of Rostov-on-Don has existed as an independent educational institution since April 1999. However, despite its youth, the Branch has eighteen years of experience in educational activities, counted from 1992, when at the Rostov Maritime College. G.Ya. Sedov, the first groups of cadets of higher education were created. The modern educational concept is aimed at creating university (academic) complexes that unite the head university and its branches in various regions of Russia, which train specialists of this profile. Branch of the Maritime State Academy. Admiral F.F. Ushakov" in Rostov-on-Don is one of the brightest examples of the implementation of such a policy.

The advantage of our Branch in comparison with other similar educational institutions is the receipt of a state-recognized diploma from the head university - the Maritime State Academy named after Admiral F.F. Ushakov, whose authority guarantees the subsequent employment of graduates.

The increased requirements currently imposed on maritime transport specialists, and, as a result, the need for specialists with higher professional education, lead to a significant competition not only for full-time, but also for the correspondence department of our Branch. Here, the theoretical training of specialists with secondary vocational education and experience in practical work in the fleet is carried out.

In addition, the branch of the MGA them. Ushakov in Rostov-on-Don has a training and simulator center "Vega", which provides retraining of specialists in the framework of additional professional education and retraining of seafarers.

Our branch is continuously improving its material and technical base. The teaching staff in their educational activities uses the latest advances in computer and multimedia technologies, maintains close contact with specialists and teachers from the leading universities of the city, as well as the head university.
Within the framework of the unified state educational standard, a highly qualified teaching staff trains future highly professional maritime transport specialists in three specialties:

1. Navigation (code 180402);
2. Operation of ship power plants (code 180403);
3. Organization of transportation and management in transport (sea) (code 190701).

Training in ship specialties is conducted at the Branch in the scope of the first three courses. Further training of cadets is carried out at the head university in Novorossiysk. Students studying in the specialty "Organization of transportation and management of transport (marine)" take the entire program in Rostov-on-Don!
In 2009, at the Branch of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Marine State Academy named after Admiral F.F. Ushakov" in Rostov-on-Don, the first graduation of engineers for the organization and management of water transport took place!
