To apply for a tourist visa through a travel agency, the following documents are required:

When buying a tour in a travel agency, the travel agency takes care of issuing a visa;

When traveling independently to the UAE, a visa can be issued through an airline, hotel or through visa centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg (Dubai Visa Center in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Abu Dhabi Visa Center in Moscow, Asian Visa Center in Moscow, Visa center of Sharjah in Moscow and St. Petersburg). Visa Application Centers issue visas to persons whose purpose of travel is tourism, visiting close relatives, studying, as well as those who have recently married a UAE citizen (provided that the surname has not changed).

A visa is issued within 2-4 working days (Friday, Saturday, all holidays according to the UAE calendar are days off). Documents for a visa are submitted no earlier than 1 month before the start of the tour. The delay in issuing an entry visa can last from 1 to 14 days.

From February 01, 2017, a visa for Russians is issued upon arrival in the UAE, without any fees. The term of this visa is 30 days, with the possibility of a single extension for another 30 days. Thus, upon arrival in the UAE, Russian citizens will receive an On Arrival visa: at passport control, an arrival stamp will be placed in the tourist's passport indicating the length of stay in the UAE - 30 calendar days. Visa fees will not be charged when passing through passport control.

Visas are not issued to: children traveling in the company of third parties (that is, without parents); persons whose surname and name are included in the so-called black list “Black list”; persons who have ever committed offenses in the territory of the UAE. Entry of girls under 30 years of age is desirable, accompanied by an adult brother, father or husband.

A visa to the UAE will almost certainly be refused:

  • a girl under 30 without a marriage stamp, especially those who are going to go unaccompanied;
  • a married lady, also under 30 years old and going on a trip without a male company;
  • a girl under 30 years old (married) traveling in the company of her husband, but having different surnames with him;
  • a child (especially a girl of 10-16 years old) who is going on a tour with her mother, but without her father.
  • Customs

    The following items are not subject to state duty:

    • tobacco (up to 2 kilograms), cigarettes (no more than 2 thousand pieces), cigars (less than 2 hundred pieces);
    • for those whose faith is different from Islamic, it is possible to transport alcoholic products with a volume of less than 2 liters;
    • personal perfumery;
    • personal belongings necessary for the trip;
    Import taboo:
    • videos and printed materials that are contrary to the beliefs of Muslims, as well as having an erotic and even more pornographic nature (books, newspapers, CDs and other media can be withdrawn for review according to censorship for several days);
    • substances of psychotropic properties;
    • weapons items;
    • drugs of any kind;
    • medicines containing codeine (“Pentalgin” and “Sedalgin” will have to be forgotten at home), some sedatives are also prohibited;
    • products made of rhinoceros tusk or ivory (it is also not recommended to bring the bones and tusks themselves);
    • hunting birds (a hunting falcon will not be able to fly with you);
    • some breeds of dogs are not allowed to cross the border of the Emirates.
      Pets under 4 months old are required to have a permit from the UAE Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, which must be issued upon arrival in the country; plus an international veterinary certificate with a list of all vaccinations (with dates).
    It will not work to bring vegetables and any other fruits to Fujairah or Abu Dhabi; for Dubai and Sharjah, seafood, fruits from regions in which cholera walks, fall under the ban. Bird animals (and even semi-finished products) from Asian countries are taboo. You cannot take anything classified as part of the historical and cultural heritage of the UAE with you. The same applies to wild animals, palm seeds and fruits. Gold, silver and other valuables purchased in the local markets must be accompanied by a check (although the customs services are unlikely to pay attention to a trifle, but if the valuables are bought decently, you will have to explain).

    The United Arab Emirates is not only a comfortable resort, but also a major center of trade. Most Russians go to Abu Dhabi or Dubai for quality branded items. Tourists who have not yet had time to visit the territory of the United Arab Emirates get the impression that this country is quite closed, and not everyone is welcome here. This is partly true, but the experience of many Russians also shows the opposite. If you have permits to visit the country, getting into it is very simple.

    Visa to the UAE for Russians

    Do our citizens need a visa? This is the very first question that a Russian tourist asks himself. No matter how much you want to get into the country of futuristic architecture simply and without official permission, you need a visa to the UAE. Without any problems, they will make it to you in a travel agency. But any tourist can apply for a visa if they know some of the nuances of the process.

    Firstly, when a tourist is going to make a visa on his own, bypassing agencies, the Emirates will require him to indicate a sponsor. Emirates hotel and airlines - as an option for your guarantor.

    The Dubai Visa Application Center processes documents in a very simple way: you don't need to look for anyone, as the Emirates airline automatically becomes a sponsor. It is also enough to simply apply for a visa through the Asian visa center, on the territory of which the visa center of the Emirates has recently begun to operate.

    To get a visa, you need to know what type of permit you need. There are guest, work, tourist, transit and student visas.

    A guest visa, or the so-called Visit visa, is issued to Russians who want to stay in the UAE for more than two weeks. It can be issued to family members of those citizens who live in the country on a long-term visa. The length of stay under the guest document is a total of 90 days. But it is possible to get it only through an Emirates company, a resident or a licensed state hotel.

    A transit visa is often issued by those tourists who are not going to stay in the UAE, but want to visit it as a connecting point for a trip to another country. Its validity is only 96 hours, or about four days, but this time is enough for transferring to another plane. Through the Emirates, travelers often end up in Australia and Africa. By the way, it should be noted that the transit document is valid only in Dubai.

    To apply for a student visa, you will need a color copy of all pages of your passport and a certificate of vaccinations. If a student is going to transfer from their university to the UAE University, an extract with the student's grades will be required.

    It is not possible to apply for a work visa on your own. In this case, the permit to enter the country is made by the employer. A foreigner will only need his passport and diploma. The validity of such a visa is only 60 days, but during this time you need to make a resident visa.

    And yet, the tourist visa to the Emirates is recognized as the most popular entry document for Russians. True, it has a validity period of only 30 days, but this is enough to enjoy excursions.

    tourist visa documents

    Anyone who decides to apply for a visa through the Dubai Visa Application Center or the UAE Center must provide a certain package of documents. It includes:

    • International passport. In addition to the original, a copy of the page with personal data and photos will also be needed;
    • Completed application form;
    • Round trip plane ticket;
    • Photo in color format 3.5x4.5 cm;
    • Receipt of payment of the registration fee;
    • Other visas and their copies;
    • Proof of your financial status with a certificate of employment. If there is no work, bank statements will do.

    It is worth noting that if the tourist is a woman under 30 years old, obtaining a visa will become a little more complicated. The fact is that the authorities are well aware of the desire of the beautiful half of humanity to stay in a comfortable country for permanent residence. But the ruling class is categorically not satisfied with this state of affairs. Therefore, to ensure that a female tourist will return back, the creation of a visa is overgrown with some additions.

    So, a visa is issued only if the girl is accompanied by a legal spouse, or, in extreme cases, gives official permission to enter the country. In this case, you will need to provide not only a copy of such a document, but also a photo of your husband.

    In addition, if a young tourist girl did not leave the country on time, $1,500 would be taken from her, which she must leave as a deposit. However, if a woman has booked a room in a four or five star hotel, a deposit of one and a half thousand dollars will not be required.

    A tourist visa will be issued at least four days from the date of application. Weekends are not included in this period. A transit visa can be issued in as little as half an hour, but only if you are going to do it at the airport. The term for issuing a guest document takes much more days from the date of application than a tourist one.

    Registration and receipt of a visa in electronic format

    Do I need a visa to the Emirates, we figured it out. Collecting the necessary package of documents for Russians is not particularly difficult, because such papers are required for obtaining a visa to almost any country. However, obtaining it through the visa center is fraught with some difficulties. So, for example, only those Russians who have managed to visit Canada, Japan and European countries over the past five years have the right to issue a permit through service centers. If there are no stamps, obtaining a visa is possible only if your income is about $10,000.

    The Moscow Embassy can issue a visa only to diplomats or persons who are going to visit the United Arab Emirates for official purposes.

    The Abu Dhabi Center website is entirely in English, so many Russians may have difficulty understanding the requirements.

    The Emirates Visa Application Center, which opened in 2012, allows you to obtain an entry permit online. What is needed for this? To apply for a visa without leaving your home, you first need to register on the center's website, then fill out the form. Then you need to send the required package of documents:

    • Passport pages in color, and the quality of the file must be high and the resolution good;
    • Your photo in color is 200-400 by 257-514 pixels. The background should be light;
    • Certificate of employment on a company sheet or an account statement. Keep in mind that your earnings must be at least 34 thousand rubles;
    • Copies of previous visas to other countries;
    • Ticket or its reservation, both there and back.

    Your online visa application will also be processed in about four days from the date of application.

    The cost of a visa depends on the center through which the processing takes place, as well as on its type. The most expensive option for processing a document for tourists is offered by the Asian Visa Center, where you will need to pay about $ 99. The Emirates Visa Center will take $ 96. Visa services from the Dubai Center are the cheapest and amount to about $ 91. By the way, if the children are included in the parent's passport, then permits documents for entry to the Emirates are made free of charge.

    The simplified visa regime between Russia and the United Arab Emirates means only one thing - the ability to break into a trip at the very last moment.

    All the wildest hopes of market participants and tourists came true. A visa to the Emirates for Russian citizens is now issued directly at the airport in the border control zone and absolutely free of charge. No additional documents, except for a passport, are required to enter the country. Among the first passengers of the night flight Emirates from Moscow to Dubai on February 1 was the CEO..

    “Airport employees quickly reformatted their work in a new format. Passengers, when they go to the place of passport control, should pay attention to the inscription of the Visa on arrival counter and go to them. No separate procedures for obtaining a visa in a separate window are required, all control takes place here. When I landed, there was just a change of staff. I asked the officer if I really didn't need a visa, he said no. Now it is enough for Russians to have a passport valid for six months. I draw your attention - not three, but six.

    Artur Muradyan also specified that in addition to a passport, a tourist may be asked for medical insurance. Some border guards are also asked which hotel they plan to stay at. According to him, the risk that the Russians will not be allowed into the country remains. At best, you will be sent for an additional check (if your name is from the so-called “black list”, for example), at worst, you will be deported to your homeland. Apparently, at your own expense.

    “The procedure is very similar to going through passport control in the US. They scan the retina of the eye, check the name. You need to be prepared that most of all the officers will pay attention to young girls - more carefully check the reservation, the availability of a return ticket. People who go to work in the Emirates need a work visa. Their easing of the visa regime does not apply, - said the interlocutor of the publication.

    When asked how many tourists today arrived in the UAE without a visa, the head of the tour operator company replied that only a few. Basically, these are passengers who bought tickets at the last moment, on January 31. The fact is that the carriers announced that they would put on board travelers without visas only the day before. Therefore, the majority of tourists were afraid to take risks and
