Terenas Warcraft. Terenas Menethil II

She brought the Menethil dynasty to an end and removed the leadership of the Alliance at a critical moment in history.

Biography

Terenas Menethil II in Warcraft II.

Terenas Menethil was born in the royal court of the capital of Lordaeron, one of the most powerful human nations. The Menethil dynasty ruled the kingdom for many generations. Terenas, who was an old friend of Thoras Trollbane, grew up to be a wise and just ruler, beloved by his own people. The long years of his reign brought peace and prosperity to Lordaeron, but that all changed by the outbreak of the Second War.

Even the grandfather of Terenas conducted successful negotiations with the high elves of Quel'Thalas, using the borders of his northern vassals.

Second War

After the First War, refugees from the Kingdom of Azeroth arrived on the shores of Lordaeron, warning of the threat of the orcs. Terenas summoned the kings of the vassal states, and after hearing Anduin Lothar's tales, formed the Alliance of Lordaeron.

Spirit of Terenas.

After the First War, refugees from Stormwind arrived on the shores of Lordaeron and reported the threat of the orcs and their imminent invasion. Terenas gathered representatives of neighboring kingdoms, and they agreed to join forces after listening to the stories of Anduin Lothar and his companions. Thus was born the Alliance of Lordaeron, and soon the high elves and dwarves of Ironforge, whom Terenas summoned, also joined it. Varian Wrynn, Prince of Stormwind, stayed with the royal family.

Terenas led the forces of Lordaeron in valiant battles against the onslaught of the Horde. He personally commanded the warriors during the invasion of the Horde, when his kingdom was almost destroyed. He himself then almost died at the hands of an orc, but was saved by the guards. In the end, the Alliance was victorious and captured the orcs, dispersing them into purpose-built prisoner-of-war camps watched over by Aedelas Blackmoore. Orgrim Doomhammer, the leader of the Horde, was supposed to become a personal prisoner of Terenas, but one day he managed to escape from captivity and hide.

Beyond the Dark Portal

Time passed, and Terenas aged, but still did his best to save the decaying Alliance, turning to Gilneas, Stromgarde and Quel'Thalas. His son Arthas became the protégé of Uther the Lightbringer and paladin of the Silver Hand.

Trouble began with an orc uprising in the Arathi Highlands and the spread of a mysterious plague in the north. Many Alliance representatives, especially those from Dalaran, begged for a quarantine. Terenas refused, stating that the people of Lordaeron had already suffered enough. A mysterious Prophet unexpectedly arrived at the Alliance council and told Terenas that he must travel to Kalimdor to save the world. Terenas ignored him, thinking he was crazy. It was at this point that Terenas sealed his fate.

Arthas kills Terenas.

A few weeks later, word reached Terenas of Arthas' strange behavior, including the destruction of Stratholme and an expedition to Northrend. He immediately ordered the troops to return, but received no response for several months. Murder

Arthas returned home, having defeated the evil he faced in Northrend. In the capital of Lordaeron, a celebration began in honor of the return of their heroic prince. But as Arthas knelt before his father, a grim voice took over his mind. He got up, drew his sword and approached the throne. Arthas grabbed his father by the throat and pierced his heart with Frostmourne, his rune sword. Terenas's death at the hands of his own son marked not only the end of his fifty-year reign, but the end of the entire kingdom of Lordaeron.

The ashes of the slain king were preserved in a magical urn, personally guarded by Uther the Lightbringer. Arthas, wishing to get the urn for his own purposes, killed the greatest paladin and took away his father's ashes, which soon scattered into the air near Andorhal.

Monument

The memorial was erected near the throne room where Terenas was killed. Beneath the capital of Lordaeron, the Forsaken built the Undercity.

Fall of the Lich King

Terenas resurrects a fallen raid.

Terenas approaches his dying son.

The ghost of Terenas Menethil, his soul consumed by Frostmourne, speaks to the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel and warns that the combined forces of the Alliance, Horde, Argent Crusade and Knights of the Ebon Blade have made their way to the last Scourge stronghold to eliminate the threat once and for all.

When a party of heroes led by Tirion Fordring reached the Frozen Throne and began the battle against the Lich King, the ghost of Terenas supported them. After Arthas killed all the heroes and decided to resurrect them on the side of the Scourge, Tirion Fordring freed himself from the block of ice in which Arthas chained him and split Frostmourne with a blow from the Ashbringer. The souls trapped in the blade were released and swirled the Lich King in a magical whirlwind. The ghost of Terenas resurrects all the dead so they can finish the battle.

Arthas soon falls to the ground next to the shards of the rune sword. He sees the ghost of his father materialize nearby, and his eyes lose their bright blue glow. Terenas kneels beside his son, and Arthas places his hand on his chest and says a few words before dying. When his son dies, Terenas closes his eyes and carefully lowers his body to the ground. He warns Tyrion that control of the Scourge must be maintained and disappears.

Comment from ReQueM

Terenas Menethil II was the last king of Lordaeron and founder of the Alliance of Lordaeron. Ruling for nearly seven decades, including periods of the Second and Third Wars, Terenas was one of the most powerful human kings, three years after the collapse of the empire of Arathor. His death at the hands of his own son ended the Menethil dynasty and stripped the Alliance of its leader at a critical juncture in history.

Terenas' grandfather, having successfully negotiated with the elves of Quel'Talas, made them his vassals.

Second War

After the First War, refugees from the Kingdom of Azeroth arrived on the shores of Lordaeron, warning of the threat of the orcs. Terenas summoned the kings of the vassal states, and after hearing the tales of Anduin Lothar formed the Alliance of Lordaeron.

Terenas led the Alliance forces in a heroic battle against the onslaught of the Horde. Terenas commanded troops at the Battle of the Fall of Lordaeron, where his kingdom was nearly destroyed by the Horde. But in the end, their sacrifices were not in vain, and the Alliance won the war by killing and capturing the orcs, who were later sent to concentration camps led by Aedelas Blackmoore. The orc chieftain, Orgrim Doomhammer, became King Terenas' "personal" prisoner, but the orc soon escaped and went into hiding.

Consequences of the Second War

Despite the victorious end of the war, peace did not last long. When problems began, Terenas reacted quickly, and approached Varian Wrynn, who had taken his rightful place on the throne of the kingdom of Azeroth, with the fact that his people should go to Draenor on a mission: to return stolen artifacts by the Darkmoon clan.

A few years later, the question arose of what to do with the kingdom of Alterac. Lord Prestor became one of Terenas' confidants (after Perenold's death) and, concurrently, a good groom for the king's young daughter, Calia. Terenas even regretted that his own son (Arthas Menethil) was not like Prestor. Prestor was confirmed as King of Alterac by a majority of the Alliance members, thereby solving the general (and Terenas in particular) political crisis. This plan had no effect due to the sudden disappearance of Prestor.

Regin of Chaos

Time passed, and Terenas's health weakened every day, but still tried to hold together the Alliance of Lordaeron, which was falling apart no matter what. During this time, his son Arthas became a disciple of Uther the Lightbringer, and a paladin of the Silver Hand.

Global problems began with the uprisings of the orcs in the concentration camps located in the Arathian Hills, and continued with the appearance of the mystical Plague from the north. Most members of the Alliance (particularly Dalaran) begged Terenas to impose a quarantine, but the monarch refused, explaining that the people of Lordaeron had already suffered a lot. At the same time, a raven flew into the hall, which then materialized into a human. The man was a mystical prophet (Mediv), saying that these lands are lost, and the salvation of his people is seen only in sailing west to the ancient lands of Kalimdor. Terenas thought the prophet was just crazy.

At this moment, King Terenas Menethil II decided his fate.

Terenas heard news of his son's strange behavior, particularly the Stratholme Massacre and his excursion to Northrend. The king sent a fleet to evacuate those troops that Arthas had taken with him on his campaign. But it was all in vain.
Killed and buried

Finally, Prince Arthas has returned from Northrend with a victory over evil. The entire Chapter of Lordaeron gathered for the meeting, celebrating the triumphant return of their beloved and adored prince. But Arthas was different now.

Kneeling before the throne and his father, Arthas's mind was clouded by a strange, icy and at the same time sweet whisper. Rising from his knees, he drew his blade. Grabbing his father by the throat, he pierced his heart with his runeblade, Frostmine. King Terenas Menethil II died in the arms of his own son.

The Menethil dynasty ended.

Lordaeron has fallen.

Terenas' ashes were sealed in a magical urn guarded by Uther the Lightbringer himself. Arthas, who needed the urn for his own needs (transporting the ashes of Kel'Thuzad), killed the great paladin and poured out his father's remains.

Terenas Menethil II(eng. Terenas Menethil) was the last king of Lordaeron and the founder of the Alliance of Lordaeron, created to resist the orcs. He reigned for fifty years, including the periods of the Second and Third Wars, and was considered one of the most powerful human rulers in the last three thousand years since the collapse of the empire of Arathor. The death of Terenas at the hands of Arthas, his own son, deprived the Alliance of a ruler at its worst.

A few years later, there was a way to solve the Alterac problem. Lord Daval Prestor, revealed to be related to the late Lord Perenolde, became one of Terenas' most trusted advisers at the time, and the king began planning a marriage between Prestor and his own daughter Calia. Terenas even wanted his son Arthas to have more in common with his future son-in-law. Most of the Alliance rulers looked favorably on Prestor's becoming king of Alterac, which made it possible to forget about a long political nightmare. However, all plans failed after the sudden disappearance of Lord Prestor.

To eliminate the threat once and for all.

Lyanna Menethil and King Terenas had two children: Princess Calia Menethil and Prince Arthas. Arthas was the future heir to the throne, and his childhood passed in ideal conditions. He was born four years before the First War between humans and orcs, which forced the inhabitants to flee north. If anyone had a golden childhood, full of greatness and lack of pain from the loss of loved ones, it was Arthas Menethil.

Arthas came of age surrounded by those who suffered from the war. His childhood friend was Varian Wrynn, heir to Stormwind and future king after Llane's death. His mentor in combat training was Muradin Bronzebeard, hero of the Second War and staff of Ironforge in Lordaeron. The prince also learned the art of chivalry from Uther the Lightbringer of the Order of the Silver Hand himself.

First and Second Wars

Arthas was born in peacetime. Lordaeron did not have much conflict for many years and was the largest and most powerful among the seven kingdoms. Yes, Stromgarde was much older and held the title of the first kingdom, Alterac was located more centrally, Dalaran was the kingdom of magic, Stormwind defended the border, Kul Tiras had the most powerful fleet, and Gilneas was proud of its autonomy and developed industry. But no one could dispute Lordaeron's role as a human kingdom.

Arthas' childhood fell on the First and Second Wars. Unlike his future friend Varian Wrynn, Terenas did not raise his son as a warrior. The kings of Stormwind have always ruled "on horseback", fighting alongside their armies. But Stormwind was on the border and under constant threat from Stranglethorn trolls. Lordaeron last saw the trolls when their remnants retreated north beyond the walls of Zul'Aman, and east into Zul'Mashar. While Lordaeron still upheld military traditions, Terenas was too preoccupied with diplomacy and other managerial tasks to train his son in the art of combat.

When the refugees from Stormwind arrived, Arthas befriended Varian Wrynn. Varian was a few years older than he, but as heirs to the throne, they were equals. Frustrated by the death of his parents, Varian befriended Arthas, but the two princes lived in completely different worlds. Varian witnessed the fall of his kingdom and the death of his father, and was trained in the use of weapons from an early age. Arthas was younger and less experienced. His kingdom was still prosperous and his father was safe on his throne. After the end of the Second War, Varian eventually returned home to Stormwind, partly rebuilt due to Terenas' influence over the other kingdoms. The two kingdoms became strong allies, and Stormwind often voted in favor of Terenas' plans.

But it robbed Arthas of his closest friend during his teenage years. In truth, Varian had already taken on the burden of adult responsibility that Arthas wasn't ready to take on for years to come. He was still unprepared and still unaware of his future responsibilities.

Muradin, Uther and Jaina

Over time, Arthas met three people who directed his life in a different direction. One of them became more than a friend to him, while the other two became mentors and taught him valuable skills. With Varian gone, Arthas needed someone who could understand what it meant to be heir to the throne and bear the burden of responsibility for an entire kingdom. And he met such a person in Lady Jaina Proudmoore, daughter of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore of Kul Tiras. At the same time, Arthas finally began training with weapons with Muradin Bronzebeard, who had befriended Terenas during the Second War and served as ambassador to Lordaeron. In addition, Arthas also studied religion under the auspices of Uther the Lightbringer, the first of the Knights of the Silver Hand.

It was these people who determined the future fate of the young prince. A romantic connection developed between Arthas and Jaina when he accompanied her to study at the Kirin Tor in Dalaran, but they have not seen each other for many years since. He saw Uther and Muradin every day. As he grew older, Arthas was constantly trained by both, each of whom was a walking legend. It was during this period that Arthas also first learned what was expected of him as king in the future.

King Terenas ordered Calia to become engaged to her unloved Lord Daval Prestor, despite all her pleas. Arthas never found out that Daval Prestor was the dragon Deathwing in disguise, and the engagement to Calia was just part of a plan to use Alterac and Lordaeron to his advantage. But due to Calia's grief and her request to never give her children in marriage for political gain, Arthas realized that someday he, too, might be forced to marry not for love, but for convenience. This was not the first time that his duties as a prince overshadowed his desires, but it was on these duties that the future of the kingdom depended.

Paladin

At the age of nineteen, Arthas traveled south to the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind for a ceremony that would change his life forever. Lyanna and Terenas' golden child has grown into a grown man. His childhood friend Varian also grew up, recently married and became a father. Varian received guests from all seven kingdoms to see the ascension of Prince Arthas Menethil. That untrained boy, trained by Muradin Bronzebeard, now became a skilled fighter who could hand-to-hand defeat even an experienced dwarf. He could even stand up to Varian, who had begun his training much earlier.

However, Arthas himself had doubts about his worthiness to become a knight of the Silver Hand. But Uther reassured him, telling Arthas a simple truth. He felt unworthy because he was unworthy. No paladin is worthy on his own. The reason the Light chooses them is that they may strive to become worthy in the process of spreading the word of Light throughout the world. A paladin comes to the Light by his deeds, not by title.

Surrounded by his father and sister, mentors and his brothers and sisters from the Silver Hand, as well as members of the nobility and Lady Jaina Proudmoore, Arthas entered the Cathedral of Light, swore allegiance to the order, and was declared a member of the Silver Hand by Archbishop Alonsus Faol. Gavinrad the Terrible, one of the first paladins, gave him the "Vengeance of the Light" - a sacred war hammer. Arthas emerged from the cathedral already a paladin, a warrior of his kingdom, a defender of his people.

Arthas always went to the end and reached heights in everything. But maybe if he had been a less skilled warrior, a less responsible prince, and a less glorious paladin, then such a sad fate would not have befallen him.

KINGDOM OF LORDERON

"Guardians of Azeroth"

L Orderon is the mainland in the Eastern Kingdoms, as well as the largest human state in history. In everyday life, it is also called the Empire, despite the fact that this is at odds with the official title. The name "Lordaeron" comes from the three primary languages of the Alliance: "lorn" (meaning "earth" in Dwarven), "daer" (meaning "people" in Common), and "ronae" (meaning "peaceful" in Thalassian).

One of the seven kingdoms that emerged from the natural collapse of the Empire of Arathor, Lordaeron has long been ruled by kings from the Menethil dynasty, one of the oldest noble houses that subjugated the lords of the northern reaches of the mainland. The kingdom was formed quite peacefully, like most of the states of modern Lordaeron, due to the unviability of the former statehood and the exodus of the imperial dynasty of Arathor to the south. The migration of people was facilitated by the much more fertile soils of those parts, devoid of the rockiness of the wild plains of the Arathi Highlands.

Lordaeron is the main initiator of the creation of the eponymous Alliance of Lordaeron, which united under itself six human kingdoms, as well as Quel "Thalas, the state of the high elves, in order to confront the impending orc threat. And although there were many contradictions between the mighty powers of the North, the kings of Lordaeron still managed to repel Orgrim and his Horde. The Menethils also housed many of the refugees from Stormwind after its destruction at the end of the First War, including many members of the nobility there. becoming a full-fledged hegemon in his region.

Under the leadership of Lothar and Terenas, the Alliance managed to achieve victory, fighting their way through the orcs all the way to the Dark Portal and destroying the passage to their homeworld. Anduin Lothar was soon killed by Orgrim Doomhammer near Blackrock Mountain, and with the loss of his diplomatic skills, relations between the peoples of Alyas of Lordaeron began to deteriorate. One of the main reasons for dissatisfaction was the tax that King Terenas Menethil introduced to accommodate the orcs in the camps. Although Lordaeron retained its leadership over the alliance, Gilneas and Stromgarde left the Alliance, not wanting to further succumb to the policies of an arrogant king.

CITIES OF LORDERON

Capital of Lordaeron (Capital City)

Second title: Lordaeron;

Population:about 10,000 souls.

D an ancient city, the cradle of Lordaeron civilization. It was erected during the existence of the Arathor Empire and retained its original appearance as much as possible, which was not possible for the same Stromgarde, located on the site of the former residence of Emperor Thoradin. Despite its seemingly peripheral location near the Tiristfal forests, it was the Capital of Lordaeron that served as the basis for the formation of a new people, who soon settled almost the entire north of the mainland. Lordaeronians fought their way to glory with sword and word, thereby striving to assert the truth of their status as a hegemonic people.

From time immemorial, the Capital of Lordaeron was the residence of the ruling Menethil dynasty, whose ancestors, following the example of the magicians of Dalaran, declared the independence of their possessions. Many nobles of Arathor moved under the bosom of new, much more promising rulers, only strengthening the position of the Menethils. Since then, the immortal dynasty of Lordaeron kings has managed to transform the northern outskirts of the Arathor Empire into a fundamentally new center of human civilization. Now the city is the center of cultural and political life of the kingdom. However, it is not the largest in the state. The main part of the capital's population is made up of small landed nobles, officials, as well as a certain number of merchants and artisans, wealthy enough to settle near the nobility. The well-born aristocracy prefers to settle outside the city and holds solid feudal allotments in their hands. Several representatives of the most powerful Great Houses of the kingdom sit in the so-called. Royal Council, an advisory body of power under the current ruler. Despite the formal absence of legislative power, the Lords-Counselors, due to their closeness to the king, have considerable influence on the political life in the state. The strongest of the Houses that sit on the Council is rightfully the Barov family, who rule in the city of Caer Darrow, and also have considerable allotments near Brill and Southshore.

Once the Capital concentrated in itself almost the entire industrial power of the state, but in the future it was decided to move all large-scale production to the east, to Stratholme and its suburbs. The Capital itself remained exclusively the administrative and cultural center of the country.

On the eve of the Second War, the city and its environs were overwhelmed by a wave of refugees from the south. Many of them remained here to live, even when Stormwind was restored by the labors of the brotherhood of stonemasons. However, the Capital is not a multinational city - now, in addition to the few Stormwind nobility, foreigners in the city are usually represented by visiting merchants or members of the embassies of other kingdoms.

Stratholme

Second title: Strat;

Population: 25.000 souls.

AT second in importance, as well as the largest city in the kingdom. The people are sometimes referred to as "another capital". Stratholme is located on the northeastern tip of the East Thicket (Dorrowshire Forest). If the Capital of Lordaeron can be called the head of the kingdom, then Strat rightfully deserves to be called his powerful trained hands. Most of the craft workshops in the state are located here, and the outskirts of the city are full of sawmills and mines.

Stratholme is a cosmopolitan city, where you can always stumble upon a visiting foreigner or an already fully accustomed migrant. There are especially many dwarves in the Strat. The latter often believe that they have always lived here, however, it is not possible to confirm these tales with anything. In addition to dwarfs, elves and half-elves live in the city, due to the proximity of the borders with Quel'Thalas.

In addition, Stratholme was the cradle of the Order of the Silver Hand, founded by Archbishop Alonus Faol and his disciples. The city has a paladin organization monastery, as well as many churches and chapels. The city is a center of pilgrimage for believers in the Holy Light, and it is here that new members of the paladin order are recruited.

Andorhal

Population: no information.

BUT Ndoral is the third largest city in the kingdom and is considered the breadbasket of the kingdom. The suburbs and environs of Andorhal are dotted with fields and plantations belonging to various stripes of feudal lords - from small estate lords to large landowners akin to Barov. Despite the fact that Central Lordaeron is a kind of expanse for all kinds of nobility, Andorhal itself is a free city and is directly subordinate to the king.

In addition to its role as an important agricultural region of the country, Andorhal plays the role of a major staging post for all sorts of merchants who bring their goods in and out of the kingdom's borders. The main square of Andorhal is always in the bustle of everyday life. There are tents with goods everywhere, and taverns are crowded with visiting people. There is even a joke among the people that it is more difficult to find a local here than in Stratholme.

To the north of Andorhal lies a small town called Hearthglen. This place is under the jurisdiction of the Order of the Silver Hand and is ruled by Lord Tirion Fordring, one of the original five paladins. The city is a key military stronghold in the region, and the paladins here keep a close eye on the state of affairs in their assigned territories.

Caer Darrow

Population: 875 souls.

To Air Darrow is a relatively small but prosperous town located on the Isle of Darrow in the middle of Lake Darrowmere. This region is known for the fact that before the Second War, an ancient elven stone was located here, according to legend, protecting the world from evil forces. In addition, many ancient ruins are scattered around the island, left here since the time of the Arathor Empire. After the invasion of the orcs, the pillar was destroyed, which cannot be said about another local landmark, the fortress of Lord Barov.

The latter is one of the oldest human structures in the north of the continent of Lordaeron. Built back in the days of the troll wars, it has survived more than one century. True, the orcish invasion of the fortress was given with great difficulty.

When Uther the Lightbringer arrived on the island on a mission of mercy to provide aid and support to the survivors of the bloody raids, he was ambushed by privateers from Alterac. In the naval battle that followed, some of the sailors were captured. During interrogation in the capital of Lordaeron, they confessed to treason against the Alliance, which led to the final exposure of the treacherous overlord of Alterac.

The patrons of Caer Darrow, the Barovs, are highly revered by the inhabitants of the island. This kind is incredibly wealthy, and they own a lot of land in the vicinity of Lake Darrowmere. They also own considerable allotments in the vicinity of Brill and Southshore.

Tyr's Hand (Tyr's Hand)

Population:no information.

D the doe of Tyr is a fortified walled city in the very east of the kingdom, the largest headquarters of the Order of the Silver Hand. Together with New Avalon, also owned by the paladins, it forms a kind of urban agglomeration with access to the sea, its own fields and a huge number of temple complexes, which are the object of interest of many pilgrims following the philosophy of the Holy Light.

It is believed that the city was founded during the wars with the forest trolls and named after a certain Tyr, a great hero of the past, the truth of which is now lost in the depths of human folklore.

In the future, the city became a place of trade between Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron, but by the time Stratholme was built, it had lost its trading influence and turned into a defensive fortress to deter possible attacks from the east.

During the Second War, a peasant uprising took place in the city, but it was very quickly suppressed by the forces of the Order of the Silver Hand. To maintain order in the region, the city was handed over to the paladins, and, as it turned out, not in vain. Alterac's spies were discovered by members of the order, inciting the people to revolt in order to hide the presence of Orks in the region. As a result, the Horde was able to cut off the connections of the city and invaded it.

After the war, the city was rebuilt and finally handed over to the Order. The influence of the paladins is now clearly felt within Tyr's Hand.

Brill

Population:3.600 souls.

B Rill is a small city located north of the Capital City of Lordaeron and is the administrative center of Tirisfal Glade. This is an unremarkable city, nevertheless, standing at a crossroads, and even near the royal residence.

Brill often suffers from attacks by gnolls, who have chosen the lands north of the town. Tellingly, these hyenomen are not found anywhere else in the kingdom.

Darrowshire

Population:no information.

D Arrowshire is a relatively small settlement at the western end of Darrowshire Forest. In general, this town is not remarkable. Even the Darrowshire Chronicle is replete with the same entry, "Darrowshire remains at the edge of Lordaeron's history." Nevertheless, this village is a convenient resting place for travelers moving towards Stratholme.

THE OUTSIDE REALMS OF LORDERON

Hillsbrad)

Population: 18.800 souls.

To south of the Alterac Mountains lies picturesque Hillsbrad, a land of fertile fields and scarlet firs. This region is on the periphery of the Kingdom of Lordaeron, and the local population is in many ways different from other Lordaeron. These circumstances allowed Hillsbrad to noticeably advance against the background of other possessions of the Menethils, having received a certain share of autonomy. So Hillsbrad secured the right to choose his own supreme magistrate, who manages the territory of the province. For now, that person is High Magistrate Rutherford Burnside.

If anyone beats the Andorhal landowners in food production, it is the landowners of Hillsbrad. Every year, the Menethils make a lot of money from this region by trading in the products produced there with their neighbors. Due to the fact that the Hillsbrad people do not know any other occupation, except for farming and gardening, their traditions and life are often tied to, one might say, harvest topics. Local towns often blend so seamlessly into crop fields that a visitor can easily confuse them with huge villages. Sometimes residential areas alternate with arable land, as is the case in Hillsbrad, the capital of the province of the same name. Every year, the Hillsbrads hold a harvest festival in their villages, which is the fundamental pastime of the local population. Another, very young, but already accustomed holiday is the day of the fall of the Horde, the main fun of which is the burning of an effigy of an orc.

Hillsbrad does not have a local militia, the collection of which is provided only in the most extreme cases. The province is guarded by a special southern corps of the Lordaeron army, led by Alexandros Mograine.

The already mentioned capital of the province, the city of Hillsbrad, is the main staging post on the way to Dalaran, therefore mages and merchants often visit here. Hillsbrad is home to the town hall, which is also the administrative center of the province.

In addition to the capital, the cities of Southshore and Tarren Mill are located on the territory of Hillsbrad, heavily dependent on the House of Barov, who have considerable holdings near these cities. Southshore is also an important port city, linking Lordaeron to Kul Tiras and Khaz Modan. The ruler of Southshore is Magistrate Henry Malebu. The largest local landowner, excluding the Barovs, is Baron Netander, who owns land near the Dun Garok fortress. Other local feudal lords are rather thin and in their financial situation are not much different from wealthy townspeople.

Hillsbrad is second only to Stromgarde in the number of Orc camps. In addition, the province has a central Orc camp, Durnholde, which, due to its size, is comparable to a small fortified settlement. The orc camps are run by Lord Aedelas Blackmoore.

Menethil Harbor)

Population: 12.000 souls.

G Menethilov harbor is a large port city located on a small island near the swampy shores of the Bolotina. The city was built not so long ago, with the permission of the mountain king Magni Bronzebrod. During the Second War, the forces of the Alliance of Lordaeron landed in this inhospitable area, after which they built a port and shipyards to counter the Horde within Baradin Bay and quickly transfer troops to Khaz Modan Front. The name of the city was in honor of the ruling dynasty of kings of Lordaeron, whose representative, King Terenas, was the leader of the alliance against the orcs.

The main population of Menethil Harbor are people who arrived here during the Second War, as well as dwarves, the indigenous inhabitants of the region. Many of the inhabitants are former sailors who fought against the dreadnoughts of the Horde. There are many representatives of Kul Tiras among the people. A kind of "marine" flavor of the city strongly distinguishes the Harbor from other Lordaeron villages. We can say that the local population has crossed the line of identity, when it is allowed to consider themselves a kind of small people.

Despite the end of the war, Menethil Harbor is still under martial law. Murlocs and Dragonmaw Orcs are one of the most dangerous threats to the local population, which is why the inhabitants of the city are very united in the face of danger. Captain Stoutfist, the city's warlord, a dwarf by blood, has been given absolute authority over the fortress and the surrounding settlement, giving the city a degree of autonomy.

Now Lordaeron uses the Harbor to counter the colonial machine of Kul Tiras and its merchant guilds, after the Second War, being almost the only competitor for the hegemonic state.

FOREIGN POLICY OF LORDERON

E If before the invasion of the orcs into Azeroth, Lordaeron had strong competitors, then at the end of the Second War, the power of Menethil becomes an unambiguous hegemon within the northern Eastern Kingdoms. King Terenas is trying with all his might to strengthen the position of Lordaeron in the political arena. However, not everyone agrees with the self-confident ruler's ambitions...

Gilneas

D The rainy Kingdom suffered the least from the conflict with the orcs, but nevertheless played an important role in the course of the war. Good neighborly relations never developed between Gilneas and Lordaeron, and therefore, at the end of the war, King Genn Greymane again became a direct opponent of Terenas. This time on the issue of establishing a new government in the defeated Alterac. Lordaeron is currently pushing for Aliden Perenold to be the new ruler of his father's lands. Gilneas supported Isiden, Aiden Perenold's nephew.

Gilneas is extremely negative about Terenas' decision to establish orc camps. King Genn has left the Alliance of Lordaeron and, apparently, seeks to gradually get rid of any influence of his neighbors on the situation within the state.

Stromgarde

T Horas Trollbane was once Terenas' best friend. However, their relationship began to crack after the events of the Second War. After defeating the orcs, the warrior king demanded that the eastern part of Alterac be turned over to Stromgarde as a reward for his efforts and sacrifices in the Second War. The King of Lordaeron found himself in a difficult position, choosing between Thoras and the son of the traitor king, the rightful heir of Alterac - Aliden. It is not yet clear how this conflict will play out in the future.

Despite tensions, Thoras, out of old friendship, accepted Terenas's offer to establish orc camps. What's more, the warrior-king took in most of the greenskins. On the territory of the Stromgarde kingdom is one of the largest orc camps - Helmhold (Fallen Hammer).

Kul Tiras

H Lordaeron retains its most stable relationship with its longtime ally, Lord Admiral Dalyn Proudmoore, who continues to openly support the Menethil policy in the region. However, even here not everything is so smooth. The main stumbling block is that the Sea Kingdom has hitherto been the trading hegemon in the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. With the establishment of Lordaeron as an empire, Kul Tiras' position in this field was shaken, but the merchant guilds were not going to give in. Supported by Daelin Proudmoore's invincible armada, the merchants of Kul Tiras continue to be the leaders in the territory of Baradin Bay and its environs, preventing Lordaeron from becoming the full master of the north.

Alterac

P After revealing the betrayal of Aiden Perenold, Alterac was defeated, and the fate of the fallen kingdom began to be decided by the remaining six kings. The people are not too fond of the invaders, despite the fact that their king made a deal with the orcs. People still want to see Aliden on the throne of the Mountain Kingdom.

Order of the Silver Hand

O The paladin clan is mostly based in the territory of the kingdom of Lordaeron. Many cities in the state are given over to the management of this organization, which is explained by the ardent religiosity of the local population and the high confidence of the Menethils in the current leadership of the Silver Hand. However, for now, paladins tend to be neutral on foreign policy, if not to mention some mistrust of mages.

Dalaran

M The Aghas of Dalaran have always liked to meddle in the affairs of their neighbors, seeing it as their natural obligation. Of course, this is unlikely to please others, but the kings of Lordaeron have little to oppose the agents of the Violet Eye. However, Lordaeron maintains good neighborly relations with the city of mages, while trying to keep the Council of Six at arm's length.
