Biographies Characteristics Analysis

Who is the "white crow"? Who is the "white crow" and how to help her.

"White crows" are those people who do not meet the generally accepted requirements of the social environment in which they rotate. Outwardly, they may not stand out in any way, but on an emotional level it is very well felt. Such a person perceives reality purely subjectively, and his internal state resembles a stretched string. She does not know how to adapt to circumstances and receives a label, which forms a further attitude towards her.

A person who has fallen out of the general row may seem arrogant and distant, constrained and tense to others. For others, it causes a feeling of discomfort next to him. But external manifestations are only a mask, which in no way reflects the true inner world. In fact, the "white crow" is a deeply lonely person, and his behavior becomes a serious obstacle to success and achieving some goals.

People are predisposed to choose friends and loved ones among those who are similar to them in their way of thinking. In this case, conflicts are minimized. The strongest friendship always arises between those individuals who do not skimp on praise to each other.

For example, a girl is talking to two young men. The topic of conversation may concern politics, religion, and personal likes or dislikes, but at the same time one man agrees with the interlocutor in everything, and the second allows this only occasionally. After the conversation, the girl will come to the conclusion that the interlocutor who does not contradict her in anything is very nice. She will even have a desire to meet him again.

This is not a fantasy, but an experiment that American psychologists once conducted among students. They were once again convinced that the more people's views coincide, the more sympathy they feel for each other. And this is observed not only in young people, but also in gray-haired professors, and in politicians, and in children playing in the sandbox.

In their experiment, psychologists went further. They asked the students to rate each other on an 8-point scale. At the same time, it turned out that the attitude towards those who in all 8 cases gave a positive assessment to their comrades became the most positive. But those who showed greater objectivity and indicated negative traits lost respect, and the attitude towards them became cooler.

From this it can be concluded that the person is extremely sensitive to criticism. Therefore, many prefer to remain silent or give false compliments to someone. Consequently, each individual forms an attitude towards himself through the social role that he chooses.

One of the main founders of theoretical sociology, Talcott Parsons, argued that the socialization of any individual is based on 3 basic principles:

cognitive mechanism which implies a constant need for new information.

Defense psychological mechanism. It is with its help that a decision is made when a conflict occurs between personal needs.

adaptation mechanism. It is a derivative of the defense mechanism and plays a fundamental role in the socialization of the individual.

In the case when all 3 mechanisms work normally, a person fits perfectly into the environment. If one of the mechanisms fails, then the person loses the opportunity to comfortably settle down among people. This provokes conflicts and friction with others. Over time, they begin to consider a person who is not like them a “black sheep”.

One of the main signs of the "outcast of society" is a long external and internal conflict. However, nothing is being done to reverse the situation. As a rule, such a person appears psychological protection. It smooths out constant tension by distorting the essence of what is happening. That is, a person does not seek to change himself in any way, but blames the surrounding cruel world for everything.

All this can be described as personality crisis. At the same time, one should not understand it too one-sidedly. Sometimes the social environment itself is unacceptable to the individual. An example of this is Abraham Lincoln. In his younger years, he had to work among rude and poorly educated people. For a young man striving for knowledge, such an environment was unacceptable. Therefore, he looked like a "black sheep" among hard workers who earn their bread by hard work. But Lincoln fit perfectly into a different environment in which journalists, entrepreneurs and politicians revolved.

In general, it should be noted that any person always provokes one or another attitude towards himself. In other words, as you look, so it will be reflected. Therefore, the best option is to remain yourself in any situation. Only in this case, you can finally part with psychological discomfort.

Of course, someone may not like the original image. But there are many like-minded people. That is, the person will no longer be lonely. He will become part of a group of people. And no one will dare to call him "an outcast of society" or "black sheep".

Everything in the world is relative, and capricious fate throws up some kind of test for each of us from time to time. This is not just done. Overcoming life's obstacles, we acquire wisdom and begin to feel the reality around us more subtly. Thanks to this, we get to know ourselves better and become more socially adapted. Therefore, "white crows" is a temporary phenomenon. Millions of people go through this and gain invaluable experience, which can later serve you well..

White crow - how often do we hear these words. But what do they mean, what lies behind this concept, is it good or bad, is it possible and necessary to change oneself, how to live with it? This and much more you will learn by reading our book.

* * *

The following excerpt from the book How not to be a black sheep (Milena Preobrazhenskaya, 2013) provided by our book partner - the company LitRes.

Chapter 1. White crow - who is she?

We are sure that you have heard the expression: "white crow" more than once. And you know what it means. Perhaps even among your acquaintances or friends there are representatives of this “species”. Or maybe you yourself are one. Then you will surely be interested in reading this book, and especially this chapter. From it you will find out who the “white crow” is from the point of view of psychologists, and what definition of such people is given by the youth party, that is, your peers and peers.

The opinion of psychologists on this issue is divided. So, from the point of view of some, such a thing as a “white crow” does not exist at all simply because there are no deviations in this phenomenon, this is a completely normal person from a mental point of view. It's just that his views on life do not always coincide with the views of others. And therefore, many believe that the “white crow” is something abnormal, incomprehensible, and therefore unacceptable.

Most people, both among young people and among the older generation, consider people who are different from themselves to be “black sheep”. But nevertheless, in response, the "white crow" does not consider other people the same. Although for the "white crow" all other people with a different way of thinking and living are also kind of "white crows". It’s just that none of the representatives of this “family” thinks that other people, who are at least somehow different from herself, are somehow not so strange and unusual.

"White crows" are sometimes born in the most ordinary, normal families, and become misunderstood and strangers even for their parents and close people. But this does not mean at all that they are really some kind of "not like that", "not of this world" as we all used to think. It's just that their worldview is somewhat different from the generally accepted one, but is this really a deviation? Why do all people have to think the same way, and is it interesting?

Don't you think that if all people were a kind of "white crows", life would be much more interesting, varied and eventful? Just imagine that each person thinks and lives differently from everyone around him. How many interesting things would be in our life! And when everyone thinks and looks the same, what's the point?

But among young people there is a strong rejection of such "white crows". They do not communicate with them, worse than that, they laugh at them, and sometimes they make rude jokes. They are ignored in every possible way, mocked at their appearance, way of thinking.

But no one bothers to understand them, to get to know them better, to communicate with them. After all, at its core, "white crows" are not so unusual and strange as rumor makes them. Modern teenagers tend to push away everything that, in their opinion, does not correspond to their own ideas about a modern girl or young man.

They believe that if you are not like everyone else, then you are generally wrong and, as a result, bad.

If the "white crow" has a more or less liberated way of thinking, then, as a rule, does not pay attention to such manifestations of intolerance on the part of peers. And if a teenager is notorious, if he himself is afraid of his qualities, his features that distinguish him from his peers, then such an attitude can become a huge problem for him, sometimes even developing into a tragedy of his whole life.

But none of the surrounding people notice this, do not try to help. And the ridicule is getting more and more unbearable. In extreme cases, such people withdraw into themselves, and peers who do not want to accept such a “black sheep” into their social circle become the culprits.

Young people now live according to the principle "who is not with us is against us." And no matter how bright and individual the personality of the “white crow” is, it is doomed in a close-knit group of “identical” teenagers to harassment and persecution.

But it happens that the “black sheep” is a person who is a leader by nature. And then he subjugates his peers, makes him follow his principles, adhere to his views and way of thinking. And if the general mass of peers is unable to resist such a bright individuality, then it turns out that it is not the “crowd” that controls the fate of the “black sheep”, but the “white crow” itself becomes the manager of the fate of its peers.

Psychological task "determining the type of behavior"

We offer you to solve a simple psychological task to determine your type of behavior. With the help of it, you can determine what type you are: ordinary (mass), extraordinary (individuality), extraordinary (“white crow”).

1. Your girlfriend invites you to a party in which you are the only one you know of all those present, you:

a) gladly accept the invitation;

b) you will hesitate to the last, not daring to agree;

c) refuse outright.

2. You find yourself in an unfamiliar company. After the evening is over, you leave:

a) getting to know everyone;

b) making new friends of interest;

c) in a depressed mood due to an unsuccessful evening.

3. When you form your opinion about a person, it most often turns out to be:

a) incorrect, except for a few cases;

b) one hundred percent correct;

c) always wrong.

4. When you have the opportunity to be the center of attention, you:

a) you are happy to take this place;

b) after some persuasion, you agree;

5. If a conversation comes up in a company about something fashionable and modern, then you:

a) always aware of all events;

b) know the news about what interests you;

c) you are surprised to find that you had no idea about it.

6. You are offered a choice of three ways to spend your free time. Would you prefer:

a) go to a disco

b) visit a club (circle) of interest;

c) stay at home.

7. When you make some plans, most often:

a) they are not carried out;

b) you implement them partially and in stages;

c) you always do what you plan.

8. In musical directions, in fashion, in demeanor, you:

a) are of the same opinion as the majority;

b) choose for yourself something that you like, and do not blindly follow the flow;

c) you don't care at all.

9. If you are given a trendy dress, you:

a) you immediately put it on with joy;

b) you put it on if it matches your style of dress;

c) don't wear it for anything.

10. Everything related to your appearance is for you:

a) the most important question in life;

b) you take care of yourself as needed;

c) you practically do not devote time to this.

The key to solving the problem

Give yourself one point for answer “a”, two points for answer “b”, and three points for answer “c”.

If you scored FROM 10 TO 20 POINTS, then you always follow the majority in everything. You consider it unnecessary stupidity to express your own opinion, or perhaps you are simply afraid to express it for fear of being misunderstood by acquaintances and friends. In any case, you should show more individuality. This will not only not harm you, but will also raise your authority in the eyes of your friends.

If the number of points scored by you is FROM 20 TO 30, then you can be congratulated. You have your own opinion, you are not afraid to criticize something that you consider worthy of criticism. You have a fairly bright personality, but sometimes you lack the determination to show character. Do not be afraid to enter into disputes, this will only raise your authority among peers.

If you scored 30 POINTS, then you are rightfully considered a "black sheep". You are unlikely to enjoy authority among your peers, but nevertheless, you have extraordinary mental abilities. You could be a leader, you just have to get rid of some complexes and communicate a little more with peers. Be bold.

"White Crow" - "Hooligan"

This type of "white crow" is quite common. Its main characteristic features are that a teenager tries to attract the attention of others to his person with his defiant behavior. Most often, this is not even a typical "white crow". It's just that such teenagers, as a rule, have a persistent inferiority complex, which they hide behind their deliberately rude behavior, trying not to look like they really are.

It is quite possible that such a teenager is inherently a vulnerable and sensitive person, but considers the manifestation of weakness unacceptable. Therefore, he tries to hide this, in his opinion, shortcoming, behind rude and defiant behavior.

Or it may be that his peers pushed him to this style of behavior, constantly laughing at his character traits or appearance, and then he decided to become such a “black sheep” that no one would suspect of softness and spinelessness.

Few people manage to find out the secret thoughts and hidden desires of such people. But if you still manage to penetrate into the holy of holies of this "white crow", then constant skirmishes and quarrels are inevitable here. The "White Crow" begins to show a kind of defensive reaction to the attempts of others to penetrate into his world and raise his true essence to the surface.

Such people need a subtle and patient approach. You have to be very careful and be patient with them. They rarely have friends, especially close ones. Many of the friends with whom they spend time are not friends, but only a company of the same as themselves, with the help of which such teenagers try to assert themselves.

Such "white crows" are often leaders in the classroom or in the yard. But leaders are not in the positive sense of the word. These are negative characters. But nevertheless, there are still teenagers who seek to imitate them, finding defiant behavior stylish and adult. Yes, this is understandable, because it does not take a lot of intelligence to be rude and intolerant, it is much easier than being kind, sympathetic and generous.

Over the years, such "white crows" most often change. But sometimes the changes are not for the better. Sometimes defiant and rude behavior only gets worse and worse, growing into a criminal passion. And it also happens that the “white crow” is reborn into a different type, becoming really quite an extraordinary person.

But most often a teenager, protesting against something in life with his behavior, grows up as an ordinary person, of course, not without his shortcomings, but also with certain virtues.

"White Crow" - "not of this world"

There is also such a type of "white crows". They are easy to recognize among the youth environment. They are not alienated from society, but they look and behave extraordinary. They are quite bright individuals and are not afraid to show it. They dress and look different from most of their peers, their interests and passions also differ from those of their peers. Nevertheless, such teenagers enjoy a certain authority in their environment. Although they are called "crazy" behind their backs, they still communicate with them, but it happens that they make fun of such "white crows".

People of this type are not afraid to express their opinion, although it almost always does not coincide with the opinion of the majority. Nevertheless, these people are not ashamed of their individuality and dissimilarity. And that's exactly what they are interested in comrades.

Some of the representatives of this type specifically lead this way of life. There may be two reasons for this. The first is that such "white crows" quite consciously strive to be different from their peers, they want to show their individuality in this way. And the second reason is the environment in which they grew up, which simply does not provide for a different style of behavior and lifestyle. They perceive this world in this way and not otherwise, and in turn express themselves in it in this way.

"White Crow" - "closed"

There is another type of "white crow". These are self-contained, unsociable individuals. They eschew society, do not go to companies, do not attend youth parties. At school, as a rule, everyone makes fun of them, and sometimes even mocks them, offensive nicknames and nicknames stick to them. Sometimes these teenagers just do not notice. But from this they are not at all embarrassed, they are not attracted to communication with peers, they are calm about the fact that they are ignored.

Even if they had the opportunity to make friends with one of their peers, then most likely they would refuse to do so. The world and the interests that their peers live by are alien to them, they do not understand and do not accept their entertainment, their life principles, etc. Most often, such “crows” are loners.

If it happens that they make a friend for themselves, then he, as a rule, is the same misunderstood and rejected by everyone "white crow". And then these two "crows" meet, communicate, and often become close friends, creating an impenetrable wall around themselves, through which peers and sometimes even parents cannot penetrate. Although most often few people seek to do this. Even relatives, having made one or two attempts to break the wall of mistrust and unsociableness, having failed, retreat.

Most often, the "white crow" syndrome occurs in such people due to some kind of hidden complexes. They can be very different. The reason can be both appearance, and some kind of physical or speech defect. Complexing about this, the teenager becomes withdrawn and unsociable. In addition, if peers also tease him, the unfortunate person has no choice but to withdraw into himself, become unsociable, and sometimes even embittered.

Not everyone has the courage to declare themselves as individuals, and society suppresses such shy and indecisive people, instead of giving a helping hand, trying to understand and accept them into their circle. And also help get rid of the complexes.

Everything is interconnected. The more a person is humiliated, the more he withdraws into himself. And the deeper he goes into himself, the more he is persecuted by his peers.

Not only do they not communicate with such "white crows", but sometimes they consider it shameful and humiliating to even sit at the same desk with them or be near them. Without expressing any protest about this, the rejected teenager continues to lead a secluded and secluded life, not only at school, but also at home. And he does this not so much out of necessity, but out of habit. And sometimes even afraid of being rejected and offended again.

It happens that such a “white crow” decides to make an attempt to enter the social circle of peers, somehow get closer to them, but most often such attempts end unsuccessfully. On the part of his classmates, the hermit not only does not meet with understanding and sympathy, but is also subjected to new, more sophisticated mockery and insulting humiliation. Naturally, such a rebuff knocks the ground out from under the feet of an already indecisive and shy teenager. It goes without saying that he is unlikely to make a second attempt to become like everyone else.

Most often, a teenager makes such attempts when he enters a new team, where no one knows anything about him yet - his troubles and problems, character traits and qualities. He decides to start a new life by making an attempt to show his good side. After all, no one here knows yet that he is a "white crow", and the teenager hopes that no one will know about it. He tries his best to make a positive impression on his peers, to show that he is the same as everyone else, that he is no different from the rest.

But doubting in the depths of his soul about luck, doing everything at random and wrong, he thereby already sets himself up for failure, and with his clumsy behavior and ostentatious bravado only shows his true essence. Attentive teenagers, as if possessing some kind of inner instinct, quickly recognize him as a “black sheep” and immediately begin to treat him accordingly.

"White Crow" - "zauchka"

This type is the most common in our time. Surely in every school, and possibly in every class, there is such a "white crow". This is an excellent student or an excellent student, in addition, he is fond of the computer or writing poetry or something else of that kind.

Classmates are not friends with such "ravens". And the representatives of this type themselves do not seek to get close to one of their peers. They lack communication with books or the Internet.

They are also often made fun of, not taken seriously, but nevertheless everyone recognizes their undoubted authority in the field of knowledge. They are not invited to parties, no one gets intimate with them. It is believed that such teenagers are simply not interesting to communicate with. And if it happens that someone calls such a “black sheep” to a party, then only to have an extra reason to play a joke on him and look at the reaction of the latter.

This type, in turn, is divided into two subtypes. One subtype deliberately flaunts his dissimilarity, thereby striving to assert himself among his peers, to show how smart and educated he is. It often happens that such a "white crow" likes to lie a little about his knowledge and skills. And he does it quite consciously, because he does not want to be like others at all, he tries to stand out in order to appear head and shoulders above his peers in mental development. And this, in turn, is a new reason for the jokes of classmates who are not at all embarrassed by the fact that their peers know and can do much more than they do.

And another type of "white crow" - "zauchka" is completely opposite to the first. Such teenagers not only do not seek to make public their deep knowledge on certain subjects, moreover, they are embarrassed by this, they do not want their peers to know about their abilities. But willy-nilly, these abilities of the “white crow” seep out, and in the class a nickname is assigned to her, something like “know-it-all”, “wise guy” or “nerd”.

If all your classmates consider you a “white crow”, and you think that this is unfair, then we invite you to solve one more problem in order to understand which of the above types of “white crow” you can be attributed to, and whether you are one at all .

Psychological task "determining the type of" white crow ""

1. If you have the opportunity to go to a youth party, do you:

a) you will definitely go and behave provocatively. You will show them who you really are;

b) you will gladly take the opportunity to make new acquaintances and draw attention to yourself with an extravagant outfit;

c) you will definitely refuse, why would you go where you don’t know anyone;

d) you are unlikely to go, you will simply not be interested there, it is not for you;

e) if there are many of your friends there, then most likely you will go.

2. In clothes you prefer:

a) defiant style that shocks others;

b) extravagant style, his own, which surprises everyone;

c) something simpler, you do not like to draw attention to yourself;

d) practical clothes that do not look defiant;

e) what the majority wears, what is fashionable at the moment.

3. Do you spend your free time:

a) in a company where you can make some noise, misbehave;

b) at alternative discos where a lot of extravagant young people gather;

c) at home with a book in hand or for needlework;

d) sitting at the computer;

e) for your favorite pastime or just chatting with friends.

4. At school you:

a) you constantly draw attention to yourself with your defiant behavior;

b) you often surprise everyone with your extraordinary appearance;

c) is practically not noticed by anyone, and you try not to attract attention to yourself;

d) you always attract the attention of teachers and classmates with your mental abilities;

e) you try not to stand out, but sometimes it happens that they still pay attention to you.

5. You will choose a profession that is related to:

a) with great power and money;

b) with fantasy, with fiction;

c) with the help of people, for example, a doctor or a teacher;

d) intellectual work;

e) you have not chosen yet, you have a lot of ideas about this.

The key to solving the problem

For each answer “a”, give yourself 5 points, for the answer “b” - 4 points, for the answer “c” - 3 points, for the answer “d” - 2 points, for the answer “d” - 1 point each.

Now count up the points.

If you got FROM 23 TO 25 POINTS, then you belong to the type of "white crow - hooligan".

If FROM 18 TO 23 POINTS, then your type is "a white crow - not of this world."

If the points make up the sum FROM 13 TO 18, then you are a "white crow - closed in yourself."

If you scored FROM 8 TO 13 POINTS, then you belong to the type of "white crow - nerd".

If the number of points you scored ranges from 5 to 8, then it is not at all clear why you solved the problem we proposed. You do not belong to any of the listed types of "white crows", and if you are considered as such, then this is unfair.

In general, the topic of the "white crow" among the representatives of modern youth is very interesting, you can talk about it for a long time and a lot. Over time, people's idea of \u200b\u200bthe "white crow" changes, its appearance and behavior change, but on the whole it remains the same dissimilar, the same standing out from the general mass, from the majority.

Despite the fact that the "white crows" differ in types, they still have one common quality: dissimilarity to others in a particular field of activity. They can think unconventionally, look extraordinary, perceive the world around them and people differently, but nevertheless they always remain “outsiders”, most often unrecognized and misunderstood by their peers.

Psychological task "definition of individuality"

Answer the questions on this test with “yes” or “no”.

1. Do you have your own style of dressing?

3. Do you express your own opinion about any act of friends or classmates?

4. Do you listen to the advice of your friends?

5. Do you think about your actions before you say or do something?

6. Are you sensitive to criticism from peers about your appearance or intelligence?

7. Do you have an idol that you strive to imitate in everything?

8. Do you think that imitating someone is stupid?

9. Do you often share plans and dreams with your friends?

Give yourself 1 point for each “yes” answer and 2 points for each “no” answer. Now add up your points.

If you scored FROM 9 TO 13 POINTS, then you are quite independent in your judgments and have your own opinion. You have a pronounced individuality, your opinion is listened to. Some consider you a "black sheep", but most likely they are just jealous in their hearts.

If you scored FROM 13 TO 18 POINTS, then you should show more individuality. You are too dependent on the opinions of others, and you are afraid that you will be considered a "black sheep". But there is no need to be afraid of expressing your own thoughts and judgments. Try to say more often what you really think.

Whatever type of "white crow" you belong to, there are several degrees of depth and strength of this quality. Next, we offer you a task to determine how strong something extraordinary is in you, not like everyone else. The proposed questions must be answered “yes” or “no”.

1. Do you have an idol, someone you would like to be like?

2. Do you easily succumb to other people's influence, regardless of whether it is negative or positive?

3. Are you able to convince someone of anything?

4. Do you have a strong opinion on any issue that does not change no matter what?

5. Are you stubborn?

6. Can you defend your own opinion?

7. Do you think that you have your own individual style?

8. Are you embarrassed to express your opinion if it does not coincide with the opinion of the majority?

9. Do you often get into arguments about this or that issue?

10. Do you think that everyone has the right to their own opinion?

The key to solving the problem

1. YES - 1, NO - 2.

2. YES - 1, NO - 2.

3. YES - 2, NO - 1.

4. YES - 2, NO - 1.

5. YES - 2, NO - 1.

6. YES - 2, NO - 1.

7. YES - 2, NO - 1.

8. YES - 1, NO - 2.

9. YES - 2, NO - 1.

10. YES - 2, NO - 1.

If you scored FROM 10 TO 15 POINTS, this means that you are considered a "black sheep" only because you yourself like it, but you are still not individual enough and do not have a bright enough inner world in order to become a real "black sheep".

If you scored 15 POINTS AND MORE, then you really are an extraordinary person, and rightfully deserve the title of "white crow". Your inner world is very different from the inner world of the people around you.

And now let's return to the opinion of psychologists regarding the question of the "black sheep". We have already considered the opinion of one half of psychologists, but the second half of specialists in matters of psychology are inclined to believe that there are two varieties of the so-called "white crows". They do not deny the existence of the “white crow” species, as such, and believe that the essence of one of its varieties lies in the fact that a teenager is trying, with his inadequate behavior, to protest against the current regime, way of life, living conditions, against anything with which he disagree.

Psychologists also believe that most often this syndrome disappears with age. Teenagers who express themselves this way are not even true "black sheep". It's just that they are trying in this way to rebel against what they do not like, with which they do not agree. And this does not necessarily happen because of the rich inner world, because of the inconsistency of feelings with events, but simply because the teenager does not know where to put himself, how to behave, to be noticed, paid attention to him.

Sometimes this is a consequence of complexes that young people try to suppress or correct in such an inappropriate way, not knowing how to get rid of these very complexes. And instead of consulting with a specialist, they find such an extraordinary method of getting rid of complexes.

Every teenager has a desire to somehow stand out among their own kind, to express their individuality. Psychologists call this "youthful maximalism." And if a young man or girl does not have a sufficiently rich inner world or high mental abilities, then they choose a not quite traditional path of individualization - becoming a "black sheep" of the first variety.

That is, with his defiant behavior, a teenager tries to fulfill himself, to express himself, because he does not find other, more worthy and affordable ways to do this. And sometimes they just don’t look for these paths.

But there is another kind of “white crows”, when young people and girls internally feel their inconsistency with the time and conditions in which they were born and live. Some of them are ahead of their time, while others, on the contrary, are behind their time. They often say about such people: "were born at the wrong time." Such people subconsciously feel that they were not born in their era, that they do not meet the requirements of their contemporaries. They do not want and cannot live as the time and environment require.

And, willy-nilly, such teenagers become "white crows". This is not a way to show that they are better or worse than others, this is not a way to somehow stand out, to attract attention. They don't need it, they don't see it as necessary, they just really feel and think differently.

Most often, the spiritual world of such "white crows" is rich, they are intellectually developed and spiritually elevated. But unfortunately, their peers consider such qualities unacceptable and in every possible way belittle the dignity of such "white crows" and avoid their society.

But it is worth thinking about why such "white crows" are avoided by peers. The generally accepted opinion is that young people simply do not accept such qualities, ridiculing them, and therefore "white crows" become superfluous people.

But maybe that's not the whole point. The world of such "white crows" is so different, so different from the generally accepted and traditional, that in order to understand it, and then accept it, some efforts are needed on the part of other people. And this is just not always enough for others.

Such "white crows" do not try to prove anything to anyone, they simply live as they see fit, as they understand and feel life. They are fully aware that they are a little different from everyone who considers them "white crows", but they react to this calmly and even indifferently.

You can't say they like it or don't like it. Such "white crows" think in other categories. They don't divide the world into what they like and what they don't like. They simply live as their perception, upbringing and worldview allow them.

And the fact that they do not adhere to the opinion of the majority, do not live according to generally accepted rules, does not at all mean that they are somehow not what they should be. Rather, it suggests that the world around them is not like themselves, it does not fit them in one category or another. Such "white crows" for the most part live not in the external, but in their inner world.

Each person is individual in his own way, it's just that for the majority this individuality is either weakly manifested, or they do not want or are afraid to show it. And others, regardless of anyone's opinion, clearly demonstrate to the whole world their distinctive qualities, which they are endowed with by nature, which are inherent only to them, and they are proud of them.

This is how psychologists interpret the concept of the second subspecies of "white crows", but teenagers explain their rejection of such people by the fact that they are simply not interested in them.

And in a way they are right. After all, if you figure out what interests most teenagers live in, and what are the "white crows" of the second subtype? It is interesting for the first to go to a disco, spend time in a nightclub, at a youth get-together.

And the second - "white crows" - do not understand such entertainment. They do not want to waste their time on unnecessary and worthless, in their opinion, things. Indeed, for such teenagers it is much more interesting to sit with a book or go to the theater, to the museum. "White Crows", even if they want to, will not be able to understand what kind of "high" you can get by squealing and shaking your head at a concert of a super trendy pop group. They are uninteresting and alien. No, we are not saying that such "white crows" do not follow modern youth fashion, do not listen to popular music. They do all this and they are very good at everything. But they never become fans.

So it turns out that the interests and life values of these teenagers not only do not coincide, but sometimes are simply diametrically opposed to the views and interests of their peers. They have nothing in common, they cannot, even if they want to, have an interesting time together.

Answer the questions "yes", "no" or "I don't care".

Test "Do you like being a "black sheep"?"

1. Do you enjoy being noticed because of your appearance, unconventional way of thinking or acting out of the ordinary?

2. Are you flattered to be called the "black sheep"?

3. Do you strive to please someone who commands your admiration and respect?

4. Do you make an effort to be different?

5. Is it nice when you notice that they are trying to imitate you?

6. Do you like to be constantly in sight, to do something so that everyone talks about you later?

Key to the test

1. YES - 2, NO - 1, ALL THE SAME - 3.

2. YES - 2, NO - 1, ALL THE SAME - 3.

3. YES - 2, NO - 3.

4. YES - 2, NO - 3.

5. YES - 2, NO - 1, ALL THE SAME - 3.

6. YES - 2, NO - 1, ALL THE SAME - 3.

Now add up your points.

If the number of points is FROM 8 TO 12, then you are a typical "white crow", which, moreover, also suffers from this. You shouldn't be so desperate. If you are a “white crow”, then this does not mean at all that you are worse or more stupid than others, it’s just that you are not like the majority, your way of life and thinking does not coincide with the opinion of the masses, that’s all.

If you scored FROM 12 TO 15 POINTS, then you are not a representative of the "white crows" family, but you just want to appear like that. It takes a lot of effort for you to get attention. Or maybe you should not do anything to win the attention and respect of others? Try to be who you really are, then there will be much more chances to stand out from the crowd.

If the number of points scored by you is FROM 15 TO 18, then you are the most “white crow” that neither is. Moreover, without any special effort, you are given what others succeed with difficulty. You are calm about the fact that you were nicknamed the "white crow", you have a pronounced personality, and you know about it, so you are not at all worried about anyone's opinion about your abilities, way of thinking, way of life and everything else. You are an individual who will be able to express himself brightly in very many ways.

If you belong to the first or the last species of the "white crow" (based on this test), then you are rightfully ranked as a member of this family. The only difference is that the first type does not realize that there is nothing wrong with being different from others in some way, rather, even being a winner.

But the second type of "white crow" feels great in this role, without feeling any discomfort. That's the way it should be. There is no trouble that you are different from others, the trouble is that you do not stand out in any way and do not even make efforts to somehow differ from the crowd. It is only necessary that the efforts that you will make come from the depths of your soul, so that they are sincere, and not far-fetched and tortured. Only then can you proudly bear the title of "white crow". After all, who said it was bad to be different from everyone else!?

Most young people are simply afraid of being different, so they try to imitate their idols, who are not worth it, hiding their true qualities under the guise of rudeness and callousness. In a society of young people, it is not customary to look and think differently than the majority. This causes criticism, and sometimes envy, which in turn sometimes gives rise to hatred.

In many cases, it is envy that becomes the main adviser of those people who attack the "white crows" in every possible way. When someone does something better than others, it naturally causes a negative reaction in some. And trying to somehow stand out from the rest, somehow attract attention, young people and girls assert themselves at the expense of the “white crows”, mocking them in front of everyone, and thus hoping to win the authority of the weaker ones.

The trouble is that they do not even suspect that in this case they themselves become "white crows", which we have already talked about above. Only with a different focus, trying to rise and gain authority with his defiant behavior.

So let's sum up all of the above. What is a "white crow"? This is a person who is strikingly different from other people, who is not like the rest. Interestingly, in nature, such a phenomenon as a "white crow" is quite common. It happens that completely normal parents give birth to a not quite ordinary cub. But the animals do not perceive this creature "with hostility", it is not subjected to persecution and humiliation. It is not eaten for lunch or dinner. And this happens among animals, which people consider to be lower beings in relation to themselves.

So why is a person - the crown of nature - not able to understand and accept another person, something different from everyone else. After all, we - people - are much smarter and wiser than our smaller brothers, why do we consider a person to be an outcast if he has a pronounced individuality?

Perhaps we should take an example from representatives of the animal world. They do not pay attention to the appearance of the "white crow", and accept only the internal qualities of an outwardly excellent individual.

A person should also perceive only the best qualities of other people, but this is probably only possible in the ideal. In fact, people are sometimes quite cruel creatures. They do not want to perceive something that is not like themselves.

But why is this happening? Why do people not want to put "white crows" on an equal footing with themselves?

There may be several reasons for this. And one of them is the most banal envy, as we have already said. They envy their eccentricity, because in the end we all would like to be different from others, original. But most of us are afraid to show individual traits of character and behavior. And the "white crows", at least one of its species, are not afraid to openly do this.

And people who are weaker and incapable of striking extraordinary deeds, but secretly dreaming about them, do not come up with anything better and more interesting than simply envying an individual personality.

This happens if the "white crow" is a person without complexes, if she is not ashamed of her otherness and originality. And a person who is notorious and clogged with circumstances is not able to do anything, he can only show a feeling of envy, at the same time trying to somehow prick and belittle the dignity of the “white crow”.

There is another explanation for why people do not accept the "white crow" into their circle. Here the position is reversed. The "White Crow" itself belongs to the type of notorious personalities.

And it is precisely her unresponsiveness that becomes an incentive that pushes the more “brave” people around the “white crow” to humiliate and insult.

And what could happen if the “white crow” began to respond to their offenders on their attacks? Modest representatives of this species most likely simply would not have dared to do such an act. And even if they did, it is unlikely that anything worthwhile would come of it. Most likely, they would try to “crush” the unfortunate “white crow” with even greater humiliations and insults.

But if an independent and spiritually strong representative of this species took up the matter, then he would probably be able to defend his interests, which are so ruthlessly infringed upon by those who do not want to understand him. If desired, such a "white crow" could win leadership among the less developed and weaker. But, unfortunately, such a desire does not wake up in the "white crows". They live in their own closed world, and are far from everything that the rest of humanity is interested in and lives.

As a rule, such people are self-sufficient and they do not need to join any groups in order to become stronger and look smarter. Everything that they lack, they are able to make up for on their own, without resorting to the help of others. Real "white crows" do not seek to assert themselves at the expense of someone. They have enough intelligence and inner strength to express themselves without outside help.

Summing up all that has been said, it is probably possible to make a division of "white crows" into two main types: real and fake. To the real ones, we, perhaps, will refer those "ravens" who are such from birth, by virtue of their worldview, and fake ones are those who, for some purpose, try to look different from everyone else, strive to attract everyone's attention to themselves by extraordinary, provocative behavior, with the help of some super-measures (provocative appearance, manner of communication, etc.).

The first kind of "white crows" does not consider themselves as such only because they do not divide the world into "white" and "black". And the latter, even if subconsciously, feel they are not like everyone else. It often happens that their sense of being different from other people is just a delusion. And then they begin to lead some special way of life, thereby standing out from the crowd.

And no matter how paradoxical it may seem, but the real "white crows" just do not feel "out of this world." They feel like fully-fledged individuals, not evaluating either themselves or anyone else. But those who are not real “black sheep” are trying to look somehow different from everyone else, trying at least somehow (not always with a plus sign) to stand out from the general mass of people whom they consider completely ordinary and ordinary.

Such fake "ravens" try to evaluate other people, and this is their main mistake. It is impossible to artificially become different from everyone else, originality and dissimilarity cannot be acquired, it either exists or it does not.

To paraphrase a well-known expression, one can say: “They don’t become real “white crows”, they are born!”.

Try to remain the way you were born, regardless of whether you are a black sheep or not. The fashion for such a phenomenon as the “white crow” can simply lead to the fact that the so-called “white crows” will become much more than ordinary people, and then normal people, with completely normal views and lifestyles, will become a curiosity. In this case, they will already turn into "white crows".

After reading this chapter, you probably already understood what a “white crow” is, how psychologists relate to this phenomenon, and how teenagers do. In a nutshell: a "white crow" is a person who is not like everyone else, something different from them.

But don't treat everyone with the same brush. Not every person who has something that the rest do not have is a representative of the “white crows” cohort. Thus, absolutely any person can be counted among their ranks.

After all, each person is individual in his own way, it’s just that for someone this individual feature is weakly manifested and others do not notice it. And someone is quite generously endowed by nature with such a distinctive feature, and sometimes more than one. That's when this person becomes a "white crow". It manifests some trait that no one else has, or it is not manifested so clearly.

A strong person does not need to come up with some definitions for other people, he is quite self-sufficient to waste his time on such nonsense. And a weak person, the same one who came up with this nickname, is offended by other people for calling him a "white crow", although he himself is trying his best to look like this very "white crow". True, this is not always quite conscious.

In conclusion, we want to advise you not to despair if this insulting, in your opinion, nickname has stuck to you. In the end, the world without the "white crows" would be boring and uninteresting. After all, it was they, if you understand and remember history, that moved humanity forward. It was they who created everything new, which has now become familiar and ordinary.

And if they were not there, it is still unknown what would have become of man, the planet.

Most of the time it starts at school. Some children feel uncomfortable in the company of classmates, do not like to play with peers, prefer to read or just walk alone. Many remain a black sheep in adulthood. Being "different" is not harmful in itself. It is harmful when it prevents you from being happy.

In the world of children, a white crow is not difficult to distinguish. It is worth noticing a child who does not participate in a common game or stands alone at the window at a school break. In the world of adults, things are somewhat more complicated. In the end, here everyone is trying to stand out, to be different from everyone else. However, the white crow retains its habits here too. She still does not like large gatherings of people, she does not participate in general conversations at work, she is dreamy, melancholic.

Sometimes, however, white crows become involuntarily. Everyone must remember how at school some child from the class was subjected to serious persecution, despite the fact that he sincerely wanted to be friends with everyone. The reason for such persecution can be both the banal hostility of other children to the appearance of the child, and the conflict based on nationality, religion, and many other reasons.

Children who have experienced such harassment at a young age may find it difficult to recover later. In all respects, even initially friendly ones, they see a catch, they hear ridicule behind their backs. It seems to them that something for which they were humiliated at school will haunt them all their lives.

Popular

White crows love to read, most often they are extremely smart and spiritually developed. Due to the fact that they spent their childhood alone, they developed a dreamy character. Often, instead of paying attention to the real world, they are carried away into the world of their fantasies. In romantic relationships, this, on the one hand, makes them devoted and selfless, on the other hand, demanding, selective. For a white crow, there are no frivolous relationships. If she chooses a partner for herself, then she does it for life and is guided by a true feeling.

Of course, such detachment from society and devotion to one's oddities is not something bad in itself. Each of us follows our inner call, and if the heart asks for loneliness, then there is no need to contradict it. However, being a black sheep does not always mean being on your own. Often this is not a conscious choice, but an internal weakness, an inability to overcome barriers that have been established since childhood.

Excessive shyness and isolation can interfere with the establishment of personal life, career advancement. Moreover - and perhaps much more important for those who can rightfully call themselves white crows - shyness and fearfulness do not allow you to fully develop your creative abilities, achieve serious success in any art, even the one closest to you.

Therefore, if you feel like a black sheep, then try to understand where the border between isolation and isolation lies. Do not try to adapt to the requirements of society. You are not an outcast, but a unique bird, of which there are few. But no one will know about this unique bird (maybe even you) if it drives itself into a cage. Unleash your deepest talents. Be even more unusual, even more original. “Dreaming a little can be dangerous. Therefore, you need to dream not less, but more, you need to dream all the time, ”wrote Marcel Proust. Show everyone what a real white crow can do. Let everyone who wanted to humiliate you begin to envy you.

The white crow is a very rare bird, therefore people who fall out of society and social norms of behavior are also called that. The Parable of the White Crow

The unique light plumage gave rise to an instructive parable about the white crow. Since childhood, she was not loved for her strange color, so she had to grow up quickly. This crow was hated by many, but she could not understand why and why. They did dirty tricks, but the bird responded kindly to insults, and in order to communicate less, it began to soar high in the sky, away from its relatives. The life of the white crow was difficult, but she grew up strong, hardy, for which she was envied even more.

And one day the white crow decided to fly away in search of the same white birds as her, so that she would be accepted into a new flock. And only after the disappearance of the white bird, others appreciated its qualities and began to regret their mistakes. The moral of this parable is that one should not be afraid to be oneself, maintain pride and dignity, be able to look for like-minded people and never try on someone else's fate.

To the question Do white crows exist in nature? given by the author User deleted the best answer is White crows in the truest sense of the word, that is, crows with white plumage, of course, are found. But you can rarely see them. Complete albinos are usually rejected by normally colored individuals of the same species and cannot exist for a long time in natural conditions. Among animals (including birds), occasionally there are albinos (from the Latin albus - white), which differ from normal individuals only in that they do not synthesize melanin at all due to the lack of an active form of tyrosinase. In humans, the frequency of birth of albinos is one in 20 - 40 thousand people. In birds, especially if they live in a city, aberrant forms of plumage coloration are more common. Sometimes their frequency reaches 1-2%. Albinos are found among a wide variety of bird species - among crows, rock doves, house sparrows, peacocks and even waxwings. So, in April 2005, in the Academgorodok of Krasnoyarsk, for several days, one individual was observed in a flock with usually colored birds (A. N. Baikalov).
From a genetic point of view, albinos are individuals homozygous for the recessive allele, in which the synthesis of the coloring pigment melanin is blocked. Pure lines of laboratory albino animals are used for genetic experiments.
Melanin is not a separate substance, but an amorphous mixture of polymer compounds, and the word itself comes from the Greek melas - black. Melanin stains the tissues of animals, plants, fungi and even microorganisms. In animals, they are used to color the iris of the eyes, wool and feathers.
The structure of melanin is complex, if you derive its average gross formula, then the composition will be as follows: C77H98O33N14S. The presence of unpaired electrons in melanin turned out to be unusual, which gives this substance the properties of stable free radicals. Unpaired electrons contribute to more efficient absorption of solar radiation. In addition, they easily capture and neutralize highly active free radicals that are dangerous for cells, which can be formed, for example, under the action of radioactive radiation. Thus, melanin performs two protective functions at once - an ultraviolet filter and an antioxidant.
The formation of melanin begins with the oxidation of the amino acid tyrosine. This reaction is catalyzed by a special enzyme called tyrosinase. After a series of complex transformations, melanin is formed. The whole process is regulated by special hormones that are produced in the pituitary gland and are called melanocyte-stimulating.
Images and stuffed animals of albino can be seen in the Darwin Museum.

Answer from luxury[guru]
They exist in nature, but few people probably saw it. A rarity. It rarely happens in zoos

Answer from Neurologist[master]
Of course they exist, but they are rare, otherwise there would be no expression "white crow". By the way, the "white crow" is
rather, a positive image of a being different from others and therefore persecuted, offended. White represents good rather than evil.
Both people and animals are equally prone to pursue someone who stands out among the "crowd".
But the negative symbol is still not a "white crow", but a "black sheep".
