Priest Anduin Wrynn. Anduin Wrynn's Growth Stages Commented by Sora14

Comment from FuzzyFuzz9

Little Anduin has come a long way since his Vanilla days . Great kid! Don't get cocky!

Comment from Aster55

I just hope that blizz decides to give Anduin his fathers weapon, that is if its not missing after the battle at the broken shore.

(Update): As of the Broken shore being released, Anduin got Varian"s weapon at the broken shore through a small questline the alliance can go on with the King. This scene was absolutely beautiful and I am very happy to see he at least got the weapon instead of being lost.
Anduin, I hope in Battle for Azeroth puts the weapon to good use, as it is a powerful blade. We saw him use it quite a bit at the battle for Lordaeron and I hope to see him use it more!

Comment from EverGuardian

What a long way he has come and what an awesome theme song he has!

Comment from Sora14

Did a raid on him, on the Draenor realm. He seems to have the abilities of a disc priest. Had sort of hoped for a mix of a priest and a Paladin. Sadly, he doesn't wield his fathers sword(s) either. They should, in my personal opinion have given him that sort of Paladin/Battle priest mix they went for in the comic, "Son of the Wolf" (Which is a pretty good comic tbh - go read it if you haven't, it's free!).
His ability, atleast for what I know were something along the lines of:

Penance (He throws this around almost always like a maniac), did approximately 22k-25k damage pr "bolt".
-Holy Nova
-Psychic Scream

Now I don't know if Blizzard intended him to never die, but we encountered something rather bizarre mid fight. When we got him to 50%, he heals himself all the way up to 75%... he HEALS himself... When he casts the heal, it cannot be interrupted. In the end we had to give up. It may be a bug of some kind, but that heal is a bit too strong and the achievement for killing him (

This is not the first time Anduin Llane Wrynn has taken the throne. At the age of ten, he took over as king of Stormwind in his father's absence while Bolvar served as regent. In the years following his father's return, Anduin was involved in constant conflict. Not only military, but also family.

Varian tried his best to make his son the king of his own vision. He tried to prevent Anduin from going down a bad path, all the while teaching him the art of war. The father was always afraid that Anduin would be overtaken by the fate of his mother or grandfather, but he did everything with the best of intentions. But his well-intentioned control quickly escalated into "suffocation", and Anduin eventually rebelled, choosing his own path.

Of course, Varian and Anduin reconciled. But now Varian has left us, and Anduin has taken his place as ruler of Stormwind. But is he good enough for the throne? Can he be the kind of ruler the Alliance needs?

patronize

Even though Anduin became the interim king of Stormwind at the age of ten, he never had the opportunity to decide anything. In fact, the main reason he was appointed ruler was Lady Katrana Prestor. Prestor deftly noted that it was Anduin who should be king in the absence of his father in order to maintain order in the kingdom. In fact, the black dragon Onyxia just wanted the kingdom to be under her control.

This did not stop Anduin from expressing his thoughts, especially when his father returned and began to behave strangely. And it was the boy's ingenuity that helped reveal Prestor's deceit. He continued to use his skill to evade capture after being taken to Onyxia's lair. When all the dust had settled and Varian was whole again, Anduin was left with his father, who seemed to be healthy but exhibited very strange behavior.

Varian loved his son and cared deeply for his safety. And he's not to blame, is he? Before his eyes, his father died, and years later, it also happened to his wife when Anduin was just a child. Varian tried to protect his son. He tried to prepare him for a world that was harsh, evil, and full of danger.

But Anduin didn't believe it. In this he was more like his mother than his father. When Varian showed a somewhat justified distrust of the world at large, Anduin saw only the best in him.

Including Horde.

Diplomacy

This idealistic perception of the world continued to cling to Anduin throughout his childhood, and into his teenage years. And Varian continued to try to shape his son's future the way he saw fit. This led to years of bickering between the two, fueled by Varian's strange mood swings. Where the father saw enemies, the son saw alliances that could be made. Where Varian saw continuous conflict, Anduin saw attempts to find peace.

Anduin's diplomatic ideals found support in the person of Jaina Proudmoore, with whom they immediately became friends. A master of diplomacy, Jaina has spent years communicating calmly with the Horde and seeking peace between the factions with Warchief Thrall. In Jaina's view of the world, she was more like Anduin than his father. In the end, Anduin was allowed to spend more time with Jaina - she even gave him the stone of return so he could travel to Theramore immediately if he wanted to.

Meanwhile, Varian continued to push Anduin down a path he didn't want to follow. Kings needed to be able to protect themselves and their people - Anduin had to become a warrior. But Anduin's idealistic views made him soft in the eyes of Varian, and he sent his son Ironforge to temper his character. In Ironforge, he found his way... but not the way his father envisioned.

The Light called to Anduin, and he intended to answer that call. But how would his warrior father react if his only son took the path of a priest?

Collisions

He probably won't be happy. Varian's constant mood swings were becoming more frequent, and his son's safety was a constant concern. When Anduin showed interest in studying with the prophet Velen, Varian was furious. They often argued, but for the first time Anduin saw the fear in his father's eyes, and that was enough to escape from under his care.

While studying at the Exodar, Anduin gained enlightenment. But at the same time, he knew he was doing something his father would never approve of. And he will never live up to his father's ideals. Velen assured Adnuin that he would be a powerful priest and a wise king, but the news was not so sweet. Yes, he will become a powerful priest, but he lacks his father's approval.

And back home in Stormwind, he finally got that approval after saving Varian's life. Everything was fine, but Varian's obsessive tutelage didn't come so easily to his son. And it seemed like his father had good reasons when Theramore was destroyed along with Jaina's diplomatic ideals. Where there had once been a beloved mentor, there was now a near-stranger filled with a hatred he did not understand.

Jaina lost Theramore, and Anduin, in turn, lost a friend who seemed to understand him better than anyone else.

Understanding

In later years, Anduin continued to go his own way. Pandaria tested his worldview and excellent diplomatic and leadership skills. Varian wanted Anduin to return to Stormwind, but Anduin insisted on staying, an act that nearly cost him his life. Bravely trying to stop Garrosh Hellscream from using the Divine Bell, he almost died in the orc's counterattack. Despite being wounded, Anduin insisted on staying and was introduced to one precocious black dragon.

Despite Wrathion having a prickly nature, the two eventually became friends - though it was clear that Wrathion's motives were beyond Anduin's understanding. But that didn't stop him from trying to understand them. In fact, Anduin spent a lot of time in Pandaria trying to make sense of everything he was facing. Pandaria, its citizens, the Alliance, the Horde... and Garrosh Hellscream.

During his trial, Garrosh asked for an opportunity to speak with Anduin. He could have refused, but he didn't. He returned again and again to try to understand the reasons for Garrosh's actions. And when he found out about the plot to poison Hellscream, he stopped him. Anduin could have let Hellscream die, and yet he intervened.

During these years, Anduin did not see Jaina. He was on his own. And perhaps that is why I was so focused on trying to look at the world from different angles, and understand all its inhabitants. No longer a child, Anduin had to stand firmly on his own two feet and make his own decisions...whether his father recognized them or not.

King

And the main question is what kind of king Anduin will be. He was trained to fight, to rule a kingdom. He learned the path of the Light from one of the oldest priests in Azeroth. But still, he became king too early, due to the bony hand of death that took his father away as soon as they began to understand each other.

At the same time, Anduin did not lose himself in grief. In fact, he immediately assumed the duties of king, ignoring Jaina's calls to fight the Horde in favor of focusing on the threat of the Legion. It's only when his father's compass returns to him that Anduin finally allows himself to mourn his death a little, watch the people of Stormwind, and find out what they think of him.

And the truth was bitter. The people of Stormwind loved and respected him, but not everyone believed in him. Anduin spent most of his life trying to get his father's approval, but he forgot to do the same for the rest of the kingdom. Velen believes in him, but Velen only sees a future in which Anduin has become a great leader, but he does not see how he achieved all this.

And yet... Anduin does not follow the old hatred and fear of his father. Yes, he saw moments of despair - but he also saw moments of hope. And this hope always burns in his heart, and with it - the last lesson of his father.

From you I learned patience, tolerance and faith. Anduin, now, like you, I believe that peace is the noblest aspiration. But to keep it, you must be ready to fight.

However, the real power in those days was wielded by Lord Bolvar Fordragon and Lady Katrana Prestor, the royal advisors. The disappearance of King Varian was kept secret, and his return (an impostor, it turned out) was met with a certain amount of skepticism.

Unlike his father, known for his determination and bluntness, Anduin is a calm and inquisitive diplomat, as well as an ardent follower of the Church of the Sacred Light. Like Jaina Proudmoore before the fall of Theramore, Anduin is trying to find a peaceful way to end the conflict between the Alliance and the Horde. During his travels, Anduin made many powerful friends outside the Alliance, including Baine Bloodhoof, the August Celestials, and Wrathion.

Description from the official site

The young prince Anduin bears a heavy burden, but his destiny is not military strategies, but the preservation of a fragile world.

Anduin Llane Wrynn, son of Tiffin and Varian Wrynn, is heir to the throne of Stormwind. Years ago, when his father disappeared, young Anduin was crowned ruler of Stormwind. As a child, he could not govern on his own, and so the illustrious paladin of the Alliance, Highlord Bolvar Fordragon, became his regent. When King Varian returned to the throne, the prince devoted himself to spiritual development and diplomacy. He traveled throughout Azeroth, hoping to learn how to cleanse the land and souls from the filth of war. Anduin's wisdom and compassion stood in stark contrast to his father's belligerence, and allowed the prince to get close to the draenei prophet Velen and even some members of the Horde.

When the world learned of the existence of Pandaria, the prince personally led the Alliance expedition to uncover the ancient secrets of this continent and prevent the flames of war from sweeping this outlandish land. Anduin's wisdom and sense of justice may be the last thing keeping the Horde and Alliance from monstrous disaster.

Boy King

Anduin in the Trading Card Game.

Some time after the Second War, King Varian Wrynn married a young, beautiful woman named Tiffin Ellerian in a prearranged marriage and fathered a son, Anduin, named after Lothar. When Arthas visited Stormwind, he also visited the newly born Anduin. The boy grabbed his finger.

From the WoW manual

"King Anduin is a wise ruler for his age. Recently, his father, King Varian Wrynn, went missing under suspicious circumstances en route to Theramore Isle. At the request of the royal adviser, Lady Prestor, young Anduin was crowned, so that order was The Kingdom of Stormwind. However, few citizens are aware that their real king has been missing for a long time. Anduin did his best to allay their fears. It is widely believed that the boy will one day grow up to be a shrewd leader."

Return of the King

Prince Anduin Wrynn

The time has come when a great ceremony was held in Stormwind to celebrate the return of the king. But Varian, who returned to the throne, was arrogant, frivolous, and enamored with Katrana Prestor. The citizens of Stormwind were informed that the king had been bought back from the Defias, and a new tax was being introduced to supplement the execution. Varian, however, was not at all interested in state affairs and continued to squander the kingdom's money. Anduin was saddened by how his father had changed.

A few days later, King Magni Bronzebeard arrived in Stormwind and decided to discuss with Varian and Bolvar a military campaign against the Dark Iron dwarves and orcs. On the advice of Lady Prestor, Varian refused to send troops to help the Ironforge dwarves. Magni was frustrated with how easily Varian agreed to do Katrana's will and his dishonest behavior. On the way to the Underground Train, Magni met with Anduin, who told the dwarven king that something strange was happening to his father.

Anduin soon decided to practice shooting with his father and asked Varian how he was kidnapped by the Defias Defias. He began to ask how Varian later came to the naga, and his father told him that he did not remember any details of his past before his rescue. The king decided to reward his son for his success in shooting, and as a reward, Anduin asked that the investigation into the kidnapping continue.

Later, Anduin went for a walk in the countryside beyond Stormwind with Varian, Bolvar, and Katrana. Anduin begged his father to pay attention to the problems of the kingdom. But before the young prince could convince him, his horse suddenly bucked. He lost control and almost fell off the ledge, but Varian managed to catch him. Anduin, embracing his father, cast aside all doubts about him. The king began to talk about how, when touching his son, he remembered part of his past, but Lady Prestor touched him and told how she was struck by his nobility. Bolvar noticed that Varian had grown too close to Katrana and had lost honor and respect for others. He wanted to understand all the secrets that shrouded the kidnapping and return of the king.

One day, the second Varian, surrounded by new friends, passed through the gates of Stormwind. Katrana hurriedly gathered the soldiers, but the king told her that she had no right to lead them. Having fled to the fortress, the second Varian, now known as Lo "Gosh, announced that the masquerade was over and called Lady Prestor by her real name - Onyxia.

End of Curse

Anduin is captured by Onyxia.

Onyxia took the form of a dragon and turned several guards into dragonoids, after which Lo "Gosh and his companions entered the battle. The arrival of Bolvar Fordragon and Anduin Wrynn helped them in holding back the dragons, but Onyxia soon killed Reginald Windsor. Lo" Gosh shouted to his double that he threatens the stability of the kingdom, and because of him the Alliance almost lost the bridge of Tandol. The doppelgänger replied that he was only now beginning to resist Onyxia's magic and regained control of his actions. Anduin, surprised by the presence of the two fathers, urged them to stop arguing and fight against Onyxia. She grabbed Anduin and teleported to her lair with him. Saddened by the loss of his son, Lo "Gosh announced to his friends and allies that the last battle would take place in Onyxia's Lair.

Once in the lair, Anduin managed to untangle the ropes with which he was bound and elude the guards. He hid in a small crevice where the dragons could not reach him. As the two Varians entered the cave at the head of a band of warriors, Onyxia grabbed and flew up. She threatened to kill the hostage if Varian didn't hand over Stormwind to her. Anduin shouted that his father did not succumb to threats, and Lo "Gosh agreed to fight and die with his son, if necessary. He threw a dagger at Onyxia's claw, and she could not hold Anduin. He began to fall from a great height, but Broll Bearpelt took on the form of a raven and intercepted him in the air.Now that Anduin was safe, Stormwind's army entered the fray.

After a long battle in which fighters from both sides suffered, Onyxia began to weave a spell that would kill Varian. However, both Varians were about to sacrifice themselves, and the two-targeted spell broke and the two Varians merged into one. Onyxia, in desperation, tried to incinerate her enemy with fire, but Varian quickly reached her and impaled her on his sword. After Onyxia's death, Varian was reunited with his son and friends, promising that each of them would be rewarded for their noble deeds, and Stormwind could be reborn with renewed hope for the future.

Meeting in Theramore

Varian did visit Theramore, and Jaina Proudmoore persuaded him to meet with Warchief Thrall to discuss easing tensions between the Alliance and the Horde. However, Varian still remembered how the orcs destroyed Stormwind during the First War, and did not trust them enough to become allies. It also suited him that Stormwind and the Horde were no longer in a state of open Horde, and the king was reluctant to declare a truce. However, he still attended the meeting, because Anduin and Valeera stated that an alliance between humans and orcs could lead to the prosperity of the kingdom.

Scourge Invasion

After the awakening of the Lich King, the Scourge attacked Stormwind, and Varian and Bolvar came to the defense of the city. At first, Varian wanted to send his son to a safe place, but a moment later, the ghoul attacked him from behind, and Anduin threw a dagger at him, which saved his father from death. Later, Bolvar ordered Anduin to climb to the top of the tower and shoot the undead with his bow. The defenders of Stormwind were victorious, and Varian announced that the Alliance force, led by Bolvar, had gone to Northrend. Anduin was saddened by parting with Bolvar and the coming war. His father reassured him, saying that after the death of the Lich King, a long-awaited peace would come.

Wrath of the Lich King

A few weeks after the defeat of Arthas Menethil, the war against the Nightmare began, and Anduin became one of his victims. He couldn't wake up and was forced to face his worst nightmares.

Sundering: Prelude to Cataclysm

cataclysm

Anduin in Cataclysm.

When Varian was assembling a fleet to attack the Twilight Highlands, there were delays in the construction of the ships. He sent his son to the docks to inspire workers to labor exploits and remind them that they are doing this for a brighter future. Anduin was accompanied by an Alliance hero, and together they visited the fleet and helped gather the lost parts that caused the commotion. Guard Major Samuelson also ordered the workers to be interrogated about what they know about the Twilight's Hammer cult, whose members have stirred up the entire city.

Meanwhile, Anduin remembered that recently a farmer complained that his cows were disappearing. Although Varian promised to investigate, the guards didn't have time. After the docks, Anduin went to this farm, located north of the city. The farmer said that the kidnappers left a trail of cow entrails, but he himself was afraid to follow it. Anduin, accompanied by a hero, bravely follows the trail and finds an ominous altar, on which rituals are apparently being performed. The prince is attacked by the Twilight's Hammer cultists, but the hero manages to protect him. At the altar, Anduin finds a medallion, which depicts a crossed ax and hammer. He decides to find out what this symbol means.

Soon, a shipment of explosives disappears from the port, and it seems to Anduin that Samuelson is deliberately trying to slow down the progress of the investigation. He assumed that the major knew something about the Twilight's Hammer and did not want to share glory with anyone. The prince went to SI:7 headquarters and studied the major's file. However, the dossier does not contain any information about the cult, which Anduin finds suspicious. He also found a complete list of stolen explosives and a pendant with a similar symbol. The prince instructs the hero to continue the investigation and learn the details from Matthias Shaw, while he himself returns to the fortress to find Samuelson.

Soon, the hero finds evidence confirming that the major serves the Twilight's Hammer cult, and, entering the fortress, exposes him. Samuelson confirms that this is true and throws himself at the king with a dagger in his hand. Anduin manages to protect his father with a shield spell and saves him. Varian attacks him with his sword, Shalameyn, but the major rebounds and summons twilight energy. This turns him into a Faceless One, and the guards barely manage to defeat the servant of the Old Gods.

Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War

Anduin in Pandaria.

Anduin set sail on a royal ship called the Vanguard, and they were attacked by the Horde's southern fleet. During a naval battle, Admiral Taylor sent the prince into the hold, where he felt uneasy and could not help the wounded soldiers. The flagship ran aground near a mysterious land shrouded in dense fog - Pandaria. The Alliance heroes who arrived in the Jade Forest were sent to find the White Pawn, a codename given to Anduin for the sake of secrecy. As soon as the water began to fill the hold, the prince left the ship and went ashore.

When the hozen began to pursue him, a pandaren named Ren Whitepaw rescued the prince. The Alliance learned of Anduin's whereabouts through a vision bestowed by a special pandaren brew. After support arrived, Anduin helped Ren deal with his fever and began searching for more information about the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. SI:7 special agents were supposed to bring the prince back home, but he refused, wanting to see the sacred waters of the vale and learn their healing powers. He used Light spells to free himself from custody.

However, Anduin was soon captured by a Horde vanguard and taken to Grukin Hill, where General Nazgrim immediately recognized him. Luckily, he managed to elude his captors during the battle at the Serpent's Heart. He joined a family of merchants who were traveling west into the Krasarang Wilds. Arriving at Zhu's Watch, he met Mei Barrel Bottom.

Mei told him about the Order of the Crane Wing, and Anduin, heeding her advice, went to the Temple of the Red Crane and asked to see Chi-Ji. Together with the monks, he studied with the Red Crane, but this did not last long - the Sha of Despair attacked the temple. Anduin managed to escape to the Cranewing Sanctuary and, finding help among the Alliance and Horde adventurers, returned to the temple to free him from the Sha of Despair and his spawn.

In the future, Anduin reached the Temple of the White Tiger located in Kun-Lai Summit, where the Alliance and Horde were proving to Xuen, the Temple's Celestial, that they were worthy to enter the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Sunwalker Dezco, who also arrived here, was impressed by Anduin and said he could see why his leader, Baine, treated the prince with such reverence. Anduin and Dezco were present at the gate when Xuen and the rest of the Celestials opened a passage to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Along with other members of the Alliance, Anduin traveled to the Sanctuary of the Seven Stars.

Over time, the mogu, having accumulated enough strength, attacked the Golden Lotus and other defenders of the vale. Anduin was among the Lotus warriors and called upon the energy of Light to prevent the Mog from entering the Mogu'shan Palace.

disembarkation

After setting up Lion's Camp on the shores of the Krasarang Wilds, Anduin was reunited with his father. He tried to convince Varian that the war would poison the lands of Pandaria, but the king replied that he would fight the Horde not out of hatred, but in the name of love. Varian asked his son to trust him and provide support. Anduin and Varian decided to work together to protect Pandaria. When word reached them that Tyrande Whisperwind and the elven rangers had stumbled upon a horde force at the Temple of the Red Crane, Anduin told his father that the temple, which was just recovering from Sha's influence, should not be allowed to fight. Varian sensed that Garrosh was trying to take the Alliance away from the shore, and tried to sort out the situation with a small band of Alliance heroes. Anduin completely trusted his father to solve problems.

Later, Varian sent Anduin to Jaina to discuss with her the expulsion of the blood elves from Dalaran, as the Sunreavers serve the Horde and pose a serious threat during the military campaign. Jaina refused, stating that she wanted to remain neutral in Dalaran. Despite her hatred of Garrosh, Dalaran could influence the peace in the future. Inside the mage city, the Alliance and Horde could show themselves to be able to cooperate and trust each other.

At the Shrine of the Seven Stars, Anduin learned that the League of Explorers had returned from an expedition to Mogujia and had brought a sample of Sha with them for study. This specimen managed to break free and corrupt several of the Alliance soldiers in the shrine. Anduin, along with heroes not affected by corruption, cleanses the soldiers of corruption. Soon, the leaders of the peoples of the Alliance met in council to discuss the pros and cons of using Sha energy to their advantage.

Anduin and Saranya Skyglaive, a night elf druid, traveled to the Corun Ruins, where they discovered the Divine Bell and transported it to Darnassus. The Horde managed to steal the artifact with the help of the Sunreavers, and Jaina Proudmoore, overcome with malice, drove the blood elves from Dalaran. Afterwards, Anduin was present during a conversation between Jaina and Varian, where she revealed that the Kirin Tor had sided with the Alliance. However, after her act, it was out of the question for the blood elves to join the Alliance, although appropriate negotiations were planned.

Upon learning that the Horde had acquired the Divine Bell, Anduin immediately set about searching for something that could withstand its power. He learned of the existence of the Hammer of Harmony, whose last known owner was the Monkey King. The ruler of the hozen resides in the Tomb of the Conquerors, where long ago he and the mogu that attacked him were frozen in jade. According to legend, the Monkey King and the Jade Commander fought, and during the duel, they both turned into jade statues. Anduin cast a spell to free the hozen from the jade's captivity, but the Jade Warlord was also freed. After the battle with the commander, the Monkey King promised to solve three riddles to reveal the location of the Hammer of Harmony, an ancient artifact that the pandaren used in the distant past to counter the Divine Bell of the Mogu. When the riddles were solved, the hozen revealed that the hammer had been divided into several pieces, which were hidden in the far corners of Pandaria. Anduin went looking for it and eventually combined the artifact.

The Alliance soon learned that Horde troops had been sighted at the Emperor's Wing, and everyone expected Garrosh to finally test the power of the Divine Bell. Knowing that time was running out, Anduin took the Hammer of Harmony and went there alone to stop the leader of the Horde. In the Emperor's Wing, he witnessed how Garrosh hit the Bell, and this turned many Kor'kron warriors into Sha. Anduin intervened and tried to convince the orc not to use the mogu artifact. But Garrosh did not listen to him and appealed to his troops, demanding that they absorbed the energy of the Bell and learned to control it, but they all just turned into Sha.

Anduin uses the Hammer of Harmony to turn the chaos summoned by the Divine Bell into pure creative energy that stuns Garrosh. But the leader of the Horde managed to recover, and he hit the now useless Bell with force, destroying it. The fragments of the artifact fell on the young prince and broke his bones. Garrosh thought Anduin was dead and left the Emperor's Wing, but life still throbbed in the prince's body. He was taken to Lion's Landing, where Jaina and Varian furiously promised that Garrosh would pay for it. Although the king sent a messenger for Velen, Anduin was healed by Pandaren Mistweavers.

Awakening of the Thunder King

A conversation between Wrathion and Anduin.

The monks healed Anduin, but he had several weeks to recover from his injuries. Despite his father's objections, he decided to continue the journey in order to communicate with new people. He made his way to the Veiled Stairs and stopped at the Inn in the Mists, where he was guarded by Alliance guards and Sunwalker Dezco. There he met Wrathion and spent much time with him, playing the Pandaren board game and talking. They discussed Lei Shen, the Thunder King, and his reign, but did not agree on whether to respect him for what a cruel tyrant he was. Anduin disapproved of cruelty and ruthlessness, and Wrathion called him too soft. Although the prince understands that he should not trust the mysterious black dragon, he is interested in him.

When Wrathion gave the Crown of Heaven to the hero on his errand, Anduin warned him to think twice before using the stone. When the hero returned with the heart of the Lord of Thunder, Anduin immediately felt a chill inside him. Wrathion took the heart and ate it, causing the prince to wince in disgust. Later, Anduin says that he does not believe the visions that Wrathion saw, and he replies that not believing him is a wise decision.

timeless island

When the Timeless Isle appeared off the eastern coast of Pandaria, Anduin went there with two bodyguards. He was spotted near the Celestial Tournament Ground, where he was talking to Kairoz, Lorewalker Cho, and Wrathion. Anduin noticed that time stood still on this island, and asked what could be the reason for this. Kairoz replied that he was trying to find an answer to this question.

Siege of Orgrimmar

Along with the other leaders of the Alliance, Anduin attended the council that formed immediately after the defeat of Garrosh Hellscream. When Varian turned to the Alliance leaders, Jaina Proudmoore advised him to destroy the Horde. Varian ordered his warriors to head towards the Horde with him, and Anduin indignantly asked what he was going to do. Varian replied that he would do what a king must do. The prince witnessed how his father negotiated a truce.

I think my father did the right thing. If we tried to take Orgrimmar, the fighting would never end. And what about the rest of the Horde? Shall we set up camps for prisoners of war? We've done this before - it doesn't work! We have toppled the warmonger and replaced him with a leader we can work with. This is our only chance to achieve peace in the future.

War crimes

Son of the Wolf

In seclusion, the new king reread the letter from his father and pondered his duties. As a child, he did not dream of such a reign at all, and now he had to send his subjects to a mortal battle with demons. He was interrupted by a soldier who creaked open the door and announced good news from the Broken Isles. The soldier declared that the war was over, and when Anduin was surprised, he explained that the war was over for him alone. Fel energy flashed in the soldier's eyes, and he charged at the king with a dagger in his hand. Anduin used the power that the Light granted him to weave magic into the Nathrezim, who had taken the form of a soldier. When other guards ran to the noise, Anduin said that everything was fine with him, and asked to inspect the castle in search of the demon's accomplices. Although Captain Rivers did not want to leave the king alone with the Nathrezim, Anduin demanded that he be allowed to speak with the demon in private.

He tried to find out what the lords of the Legion were trying to achieve by killing the young king. Anduin was sure that the Alliance would not fall due to the death of another leader or even several. The Nathrezim replied that the Alliance no longer exists after the death of the wolf. When Anduin self-confidently stated that the Legion had no idea what the Alliance was capable of, the Natrezim replied with a smirk that the demons knew everything, including that the new king was never a wolf, unlike the old one. The demons watched as Varian tried to raise a mighty warrior, but only got a fool who dreams of peace.

Nathrezim suggested that Anduin abandon the war, which would lead to collapse, and join the Burning Legion. The citizens of Stormwind could well serve the purposes of the demons. Anduin agreed that he was a peaceful man and that the wolf left the Alliance forever. He called himself the light left after the death of his father, and destroyed the demon with a stream of Light magic. The body of the Nathrezim broke into shimmering pieces.

Son of the Wolf (deep future)

Many years later, Anduin Wrynn, now an old man, once again reread Varian's letter written before the Battle of the Broken Shore. He told his long-dead father that he was ready for the last fight. Everything was supposed to end today. Anduin was enthroned in the Exodar, a draenei spaceship, and the prophet Velen, who stood nearby, informed him that the time had come. According to the prophet, they had no better opportunity to strike. They got the only chance, and Anduin would be ready to use it in the name of the fallen father and all those who gave their lives for the sake of the future world. Velen replied that today the Light would overcome the Darkness. Anduin announced the start of the battle.

The darkness in question could be the creatures of the Void Lords, or they themselves, who are no less of a threat than the Burning Legion.

Personality

Although only a teenager, Stormwind's prince, Anduin, has persevered through numerous trials and tribulations, such as being kidnapped by the scheming black dragon Onyxia. His greatest challenge, however, might lie in his relationship with Varian. Anduin is no stranger to his father "s love and affection, but he is constantly wary of sudden outbursts from Varian" s violent, gladiatorial side. Anduin has also struggled against his father "s insistence that he become a warrior. Events just prior to the Cataclysm signaled a new chapter in Anduin's life. While undergoing martial training in the dwarven bastion of Ironforge, Anduin witnessed as Moira Thaurissan-the estranged daughter of the late King Magni Bronzebeard-held the city hostage with a contingent of Dark Iron dwarves.Despite being the legal heir to Ironforge, she drew the ire of Varian for her heavy-handed tactics. Before long, the king and a team of SI:7 agents infiltrated the city, intent on killing the brash dwarf heiress . Only through Anduin's wise and resolute intervention did Varian stay his hand and spare Moira's life, thus averting a political disaster that might have ignited a dwarven civil war.

During his time in Ironforge, Anduin also discovered his true calling in life: to be a priest devoted to the tenets of the Holy Light. For those who know Anduin well, this discipline is a perfect fit for the prince, who has consistently proven himself to be compassionate and thoughtful. No longer the child-prince of Stormwind from years past, Anduin is fast becoming his own man with the courage to speak up for what he believes in. He does not share Varian's outright hatred and mistrust of the Horde. On one occasion, he even imparted sage advice to the tauren chieftain Baine Bloodhoof after the death of his father, Cairne. Yet in Azeroth's current state of turmoil, it is unknown whether Anduin's destiny with the Light will proceed on its current course, or whether his path will take a different turn.

Anduin Wrynn, the young prince of Stormwind, is a man of reason and mercy. In this, he is not at all like his father, the warrior-king Varian Wrynn. The king devoted his life to the art of combat, while Anduin found his calling in the service of the Light. That is why he happened to play such an important role in the recent events in Pandaria. Come closer and listen to the tale of Prince Anduin...

The history of the priest

The young prince was named Anduin Llane in honor of the two legendary heroes of Stormwind - King Llane Wrynn and Anduin Lothar, nicknamed the Lion of Azeroth.

King Varian earned a reputation as a proud and skilled swordsman, but his son Anduin was deprived of his father's warrior instincts and could not follow in his footsteps. However, unlike Varian, the young prince was distinguished by prudence and mercy. Discovering a talent for healing and a strong connection to the power of the Light, Anduin was trained by the High Priest of Rohan and the draenei prophet Velen. Thanks to their instructions, he became a real priest and peacemaker.

When the confrontation between the Alliance and the Horde broke out with renewed vigor, Anduin went as an ambassador to the mysterious new mainland Pandaria. There he hoped to put an end to the thoughtless bloodshed. Away from the stout walls of Stormwind, Anduin turned his attention to the ancient mysteries of Pandaria, maintaining calm and common sense even in the most dangerous situations. In his wanderings, the young prince selflessly helped everyone who needed help.

It was thanks to Anduin that the Alliance was able to establish friendly relations with various factions of Pandaria. In addition, without his participation, it would never have been possible to extinguish the flames of war that had almost swallowed up the new continent.

The brave and noble prince of Stormwind is ready to do anything to make his kingdom prosper and his subjects live in peace and tranquility. One day he will be a great king.

During the events of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Anduin had to call on the dark side of his cleric power to get someone to change their mind. In Hearthstone, you can use the Mind Control card to subjugate any enemy creature that will fight for you to the end!

But despite his young age, he himself was a leader, for the most part purely figuratively, but he was. And a lot of troubles and pains have already fallen to his lot. In early childhood, he lost his beloved mother, he survived the disappearance of his father and the return of his double, he experienced betrayal and arrogance, watched the triumph and suffering of his people. He is the heir to the throne of Stormwind, the prince of the Alliance - Anduin Wrynn.

Trials of fate

The second war is over, the Horde is defeated and King Varian returns home triumphantly. And after a while, a happy event happened in the family of the king of Stormwind. His beloved wife Tifin gave birth to a son. They named the young prince in honor of Varian's close friend and mentor - Anduin *. (Anduin Lothar rescued Varian from the ruined Stromgrad during the first Horde invasion) There was no limit to the joy of the king and his people, however, peacetime was shaken. The Stonecutters recruited to rebuild Stormwind after the battle, led by Edwan VanCleef, mutinied due to their low pay, and a small war broke out within the walls of Stormwind. It was here that grief came to the royal family. In one of the street skirmishes, Queen Typhin was stoned to death. All stonecutters caught were executed, and Van Cleef himself fled. Varian fell into a deep depression after the untimely death of Typhin, Lady Katrana Prestor, who was at the court of the king, took advantage of this moment of weakness, she invaded Varian's inner circle, in order to seize power. Time passed. Anduin grew up, and with him, his father's depression gradually passed. Varian raised and raised his son, trying to spend most of his free time with him. When Anduin was 10 years old, he was already beginning to study public affairs, a precocious and intelligent boy, he tried to give his father advice. His kind and disinterested thinking sometimes made it possible to find the most correct solutions. Anduin insisted on making peace with the orcs, these wars brought nothing but losses, these wars had no purpose, only blind fierce rivalry, however, Lady Prestor considered the little prince's statements stupid and insisted on tough measures regarding the "green infection". Varian accepted the decision to go to a meeting with the leader of the Horde and still negotiate, but after the negotiations he did not return.
Katrana immediately offered to hand over the reins of government to the young prince, intending to influence state affairs through the child, however, Bolvar Fordragon was named Anduin's adviser and mentor. But despite the experience and wisdom of the paladin, he succumbed to the charms of Lady Katrana, and made several fatal mistakes. As a result, chaos broke out in Stormwind. Anduin, who was crowned to uphold and maintain order, allowed confusion among his people. This certainly hit the boy's mind, he did not cope with the task assigned to him, and when Anduin had completely given up, his father returned.

Part of the king

Varian Wrynn entered the gates of Stormwind and thundered the triumphant applause of the people. According to Lady Prestor, he was held hostage and ransomed for a large sum. Since his return, his father had always shunned Anduin and stayed away from him, they talked little and did not spend time together at all. Varian's only goal was to run wild and spend public money. One day, the dwarven king Magni Bronzebeard arrived in Stormwind asking for help, his daughter was kidnapped. But Varian refused an old friend. At that moment, Anduin finally realized that something was wrong. His father would never refuse to help his allies. The young prince saw his father, heard his voice, but inwardly felt that it was not him. There was no that paternal warmth and that look that he was used to seeing from childhood.
Anduin was a smart kid—much smarter than many of the king's entourage. He went to Ironforge to Magni Bronzebeard and asked to help him find the truth, pointing out the strange behavior of the "father". King Magni also drew attention to Varian's strange behavior, but attributed it to changes after the kidnapping, perhaps something was breaking the king. Magni listened to the prince and promised to come up with something and look into this matter. Anduin hurried back. Already in the royal chambers, he met with his father and asked him to tell him what happened during the abduction, no matter how hard Varian tried, he could not remember anything. This fragment seemed to have been erased from memory.
One day, Prince Anduin was summoned by the dwarven king, and a third person was present at the meeting. This was Anduin's real father. Time left its marks on him, broad powerful shoulders, terrible deep scars on his face, rough hard skin, but the kind and warm look of a loving father. Together they planned to uncover Lady Prestor's plot and put an end to the fraud. Upon their arrival in Stormwind, the trio were captured by the guards, however, Varian was able to uncover Lady Prestor's secret. She turned out to be the mother of the black dragon family, Onyxia, having assumed her true form, Onyxia fled Stormwind, taking Anduin with her.

Stitched together

Onyxia dragged the young prince to her lair, taking advantage of her small stature, he managed to slip away from the dragon, hiding behind the ledges of stones. He hid under the dark low arches of the cave, trying to play for time and not in vain. Meanwhile, Jaina Proudmoore, having studied both Wrynn Variants, concluded that the double is part of the soul of the real king, a certain group of feelings and emotional components was materialized in a new body. To reunite, it was necessary to reset the dark spell of Onyxia, destroying her. Without thinking twice, both kings went to the dragon's lair. To kill the dragon, both Varians were armed with ancient elven blades, with magical power contained in them. Brol, Jaina, and the two kings set out for Onyxia's Lair. The fight got tough, when Brol and Jaina were unable to fight, the false Varian rushed forward to shield Lo'Gosh* from Onyxia's spell, but so did the true king. Having fallen under the wave of the spell, the two Varians became one, taking advantage of the confusion of the dragon, dodging the scorching flame, Rynn quickly reached her head and dealt a decisive crushing blow. The elven blades charged with magic easily pierced the dragon's flesh and cut off the mighty head of Onyxia. Deathwing's daughter fell, But that was only the beginning of Prince Anduin's troubles.
Returning to the ordinary way of life, Anduin again rushed to raise the topic of a peaceful alliance with the Horde, as previously planned. After some persuasion, the father finally succumbed. It was a peaceful meeting and everything went at the highest level, but the negotiations reached an impasse. The question arose about Garon, about the very half-orc who brought death to the former king of Stormwind, the orcs and people began to blame each other, the situation heated up and then the news came of the attack on Stormwind. Varian took his son and went to his own lands without concluding the planned alliance.

clash personalities

Anduin longs for peace, a world free from the senseless tragedies of war. On the other hand, King Varian wants his son to become a glorious slayer of enemies, a proud warrior capable of keeping Stormwind in strong hands. No matter how much Varian loved his son, the older he got, the more confrontations arose between them. Anduin did not grow up the way his father wanted to see him. This greatly infuriated and annoyed Varian, he practically lost control of his anger and became uncontrollable. Prince Anduin often witnessed his father's violent, aggressive displays, which quickly ended in a crushing apology. There was an idea that after the split personality, Varian never connected. Yes, he was in one body, but his personality was broken. The image of the fierce warrior Lo'Gosh, acquired in captivity, and the image of the calm, melancholic Varian, who is in Stormwind, were broken. In the end, his father got the better of him and sent Anduin to Ironforge for some time so that Varian could clean himself up. The prince happily left.
In Ironforge, Anduin found his true calling. He is not a warrior, he does not like waving a sword and chopping off heads, he directed his peace of mind and tolerance to teaching the Light. High Priest Rohan volunteered to be a mentor to the young prince on the path to the Light. King Magni gave the prince a gift, an excellent mace that had seen many battles, knowing the taste of blood. But it was the last gift from the Dwarf King. Anduin witnessed the terrible events in Ironforge and the petrification of Magni Bronzebeard.

Relations with the Horde

Anduin leans more towards Jaina's worldview than his father's. In contrast to the angry and furious attacks of his father, the prince resolves issues peacefully and diplomatically. When Moira came to Ironforge with the Dark Iron Clan, Anduin fled to Theramore, where he met Jaina and Baine Bloodhoof, who had been exiled from Thunder Bluff after his father's death. The Evil Totem tribe now ruled there. Both heirs looked with fear into their vague future, both were afraid that the day would come when all responsibility for their people would fall on their shoulders. And after the conversation, Anduin and Baine dispelled their fears and became friends, thereby laying the foundation for a potential peace between the Horde and the Alliance, a peace that may not come soon. It was only a gesture of goodwill from Anduin, and if his father found out about this, he would certainly be furious. Gathering his strength, he decided to return to Ironforge, and just in time. Anduin prevented his father from killing Moira Bronzebeard and thereby starting a civil war among the dwarves. Again, the son saved his father from a wrong decision. Varian installed the Council of Three Hammers at the head of Ironforge.

Education

Despite his son's support, Varian still suffered from a split personality. Every time the father attacked his son with prickly and soul-tearing words, offended him to tears and again fell to his knees and apologized, these moments weighed on Anduin. He wanted to find a way to save both his father and himself from this suffering. In the book Wolfheart, Prince Anduin witnessed Varian's cruel treatment of Genn Greymane, what he saw disappointed the prince, and he went to the draenei prophet Velen to find out when the atrocities and splits of his father would come to an end, however, the royal guard arrived next and forcibly took Anduin away back to the walls of Stormwind. Returning to the castle, Anduin came in to find an enraged Varian yelling Stormrage at Malfurion. What was the dispute is not clear, but it was the last straw in Anduin's patience. The young prince told his father that he did not want to become like him, that he chose the path of Light and would devote his life to studying the canons of the priesthood. Varian invited his son to study with the archbishop at the Shrine of Stormwind, but Anduin expressed a desire to study only with the prophet Velen.
Varian realized that his temper brought nothing but trouble and pain to his loved ones. He seriously engaged in self-control and was able to regain control over himself. He sent a letter to his son asking him to come home, promising that he would change for the better.
Anduin returned for Memorial Day, just in time to see his father take out his anger on a group of nobles. The prince was about to leave, when suddenly there was a complete attack. Wounded Varian lay on his last breath, Anduin hugged his father and heard his whisper, Varian said that he was madly in love and proud of his son and would believe in him until his last breath. The young prince decided to resist fate, with all his might he called for the help of the Holy Light to heal his father's wounds and bring him back to life. And he succeeded.

Unity

Unfortunately, almost nothing is known about what Velen taught the heir of Stormwind, where and how he was trained. But we know one thing, Velen accurately predicted that a war was coming between Light and Darkness, and if young Anduin did not go out of his way, he would become a worthy rival and defender of the Holy Light in the face of Darkness.
Now, the king of Stormwind is still Varian Wrynn, leader, warrior, protector, if a little insane at times. Nearby are his devoted servants and his beloved son Anduin. And he confidently looks to the future, not afraid of the fateful day when the reins of power will once again be in the hands of his son, ready to take responsibility for all the people of Stormwind, and for the Alliance as a whole.
