To get an injection in the ass, you first need to prepare in advance:

- drug for injection;
- cotton pads;

Step 1. Prepare everything you need

Gloves. At home, gloves are often neglected, but in vain. Since there is no question of any sterility, gloves are especially needed to protect both the patient and the one giving the injection from the transmission of infections.

Syringes. The volume of the syringe must match the volume of the medicine. If the medicine needs to be diluted, then keep in mind that it is better to take a larger syringe.

Needles. They will be needed if the medicine needs to be diluted. For example, if a dry preparation is sold in an ampoule with a rubber cap, then it is diluted as follows:

The solvent is drawn into the syringe.
The rubber cap is pierced with a needle, the solvent is released into the ampoule.
Shake the ampoule without removing the needle to dissolve the medicine.
Draw the solution back into the syringe.

After that, the needle must be changed, because the one that has already pierced the rubber cover is not suitable for an injection: it is not sharp enough.

Antiseptic or alcohol wipes. You need alcohol 70%, an antiseptic based on it or chlorhexidine. For the home, disposable alcohol wipes, which are sold at any pharmacy, are best.

Place for garbage. Somewhere you have to put the waste material: packaging, lids, napkins. It is better to immediately dump them into a separate box, basket, or wherever it is convenient for you, so that all this does not fall on a plate with clean tools.

Step 2. Learn to wash your hands

You will have to wash your hands three times: before collecting the instruments, before the injection and after the procedure. If that seems like a lot, then it seems to you.

Step 3. Prepare the site

Choose a convenient place so that you can put the plate with tools and easily reach it. Another essential attribute is good lighting.

It does not matter how the person who is given the injection is located. He can stand or lie down, whichever is more convenient for him. But the one who injects should also be comfortable so that the hands do not shake and do not have to pull the needle during the injection. So choose a position that suits everyone.

If you are afraid to prick in the wrong place, draw a hefty cross right on the buttock before the procedure.

First, draw a vertical line in the middle of the buttocks, then a horizontal one. The upper outer corner is where you can stab. If you're still scared, draw a circle in that corner. At least an old lipstick or a cosmetic pencil is suitable for artistic painting, just make sure that the particles of these products do not get into the injection site.

While the patient lies and is afraid, we begin the procedure.

Step 4. Do it right

Wash your hands and plate.
Clean your hands and plate with antiseptic. Throw away the cotton wool or napkin immediately after processing.
Open five alcohol wipes or make as many cotton balls with antiseptic. Put them on a plate.
Get the medicine vial and syringe, but don't open them yet.
Wash your hands.
Put on gloves and treat them with an antiseptic.
Take the ampoule with the medicine, treat it with an antiseptic and open it. Place the ampoule on a plate.
Open the syringe package.
Open the needle and draw the medicine into the syringe.
Turn the syringe with the needle up and release the air.
Treat the buttock of the patient with a napkin with alcohol or an antiseptic. First, a large area. Then take another napkin and wipe the place where you will inject. Movements for processing - from the center to the periphery or from the bottom up, in one direction.
Take the syringe in any way that suits you. The needle should be perpendicular to the skin. Insert the needle in one motion. It is not necessary to drive it all the way so as not to break it: 0.5–1 cm should remain outside.
Enter the medicine. Take your time, make sure that the syringe and needle do not dangle or twitch. You can hold the syringe with one hand and press the plunger with the other.
Take the last alcohol pad or cotton swab, apply it near the injection site and pull the needle out in one motion to quickly press the wound.
Do not rub anything with a napkin, just press and hold.
Throw away used tools.
Wash your hands.

If the injection is painful, inject the medicine slowly. It seems that the faster, the sooner the person is tormented, but in fact, a slow introduction is more comfortable. The average speed is 1 ml in 10 seconds.

Do not be afraid to once again treat the ampoule, hands or skin with an antiseptic. It's better to overdo it than underdo it.

If you need to change needles after taking medication, do not remove the cap from a new one until you have installed it on the syringe. Otherwise, you can get stuck. For the same reason, never try to cover the needle with a cap if you have already removed it.

When it is impossible to give an injection without specialists

If the drug was not prescribed by a doctor. In general, it is not necessary to engage in self-treatment, and even more so with injections, even if for some reason you want to “prick vitamins”. The drug, its dosage, how to dilute it - this is all set by the doctor, and only he.
If the patient has never taken this drug before. Many medicines have side effects and may cause unwanted reactions. Medicines that are administered through injections enter the blood faster, therefore, reactions to them appear quickly and strongly. Therefore, it is better to give the first injection in a medical facility and not rush to run away from there, but wait 5-10 minutes so that everything is in order. If something goes wrong, the clinic will help, but at home you can not cope.
When it is possible to use the services of doctors, but do not want to. An intramuscular injection is short and inexpensive, and homemade activities can end, so it will not be possible to save either money or time.
When the person requiring the injection has HIV, hepatitis, or other blood-borne infections, or if it is not known whether the person has these infections (no valid certificate). And one more important note: the needle must always be held so that it does not fall off the syringe itself.

1. At the beginning of the procedure, we disinfect our hands: we will wash them.

2. We open a sterile disposable syringe from the side of the piston and take a look at the photo: without pulling the needle out of the package, we immediately put it on the syringe.

9. Now let's remove the air from the syringe. Holding the base of the needle, raise the syringe up and slowly push the plunger, pushing out the air until droplets of medicine appear. The needle must be held, because with air pressure it can shoot, fly off the syringe.

First reception.

You need to put your hand on the area where you will inject, as if limiting the outer quadrant for yourself and holding this place in case the patient suddenly moves.

Feel with your hand so that the patient does not strain the buttocks. If the patient has strained the buttocks, then the injection at this moment is not necessary: it will be painful. Try to distract the patient in the following ways. Hold the syringe as you like.

Second take.

This is purely a psychological trick. We part the fabric as much as possible to the sides. When we spread the tissue, the patient feels it, is distracted, and the entrance of the needle may not even be felt.

Third take.

They are often used by nurses. They do not lay a hand, but slap the area around the injection site with their palm, and while the patient recovers from the slap, he is given an injection.

10. We will make a sharp injection, leaving about ¼ of the needle outside. Then, be sure to pull the needle slightly towards you to make sure that you do not hit the blood vessel. And if there is no blood, then you calmly, slowly inject the medicine.

11. After injecting the medicine, press the cotton swab with alcohol to the injection site to stop the blood flow.

An injection in the ass: a sequence of actions

1. Wash your hands well with soap.

2. Take the desired ampoule, shake it a little, lightly tap the tip of the ampoule with your fingernail so that no medicine remains in it. Moisten a cotton swab with alcohol and wipe the tip of the ampoule.

3. With a nail file for ampoules (as a rule, any medicine for injections is completed with it) and, by pressing, draw a couple of times along the tip of the ampoule. After that, it should break off easily and evenly (without splinters).

4. Remove the syringe from the sterile package. Put a needle on the syringe directly in the cap.

5. After removing the cap from the needle, draw the required dose of medication from the ampoule into the syringe.

6. Holding the syringe upright (needle up), tap it with your fingernail so that all air bubbles rise up. Then the air must be released from the syringe by gently pressing the plunger until droplets of medicine appear on the tip of the needle.

7. Close the needle with a cap.

8. Wipe the injection site with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.

9. Slightly stretch or squeeze the skin at the injection site, which will reduce pain. But it is not necessary to do so.

10. Insert the needle with a sharp movement into the skin for almost its entire length. If the needle is not inserted to its full length, then it may not reach the muscle, and the medicine will be injected under the skin, which will subsequently lead to inflammation.

11. Slowly (unless the type of medication requires otherwise) inject the contents of the syringe.

12. Sharply remove the needle from the buttock and press the pricked place with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Intramuscularly to oneself (process features)

Injecting yourself, especially in such a hard-to-see place as the buttock, may seem too difficult for many. It's not like that at all. The main thing here is to choose a comfortable position for yourself. Some believe that it is much easier in such a situation to simply inject into the arm or thigh (after all, there are muscles there as well). However, the muscle mass on the arm may not be enough, and the injection into the thigh often leads to the fact that it then begins to unpleasantly "pull" the leg.

Of course, if you have already injected other people in the ass many times, then it will not be difficult for you to inject yourself in a prone position. But beginners will need a mirror. Begin to take various postures in front of the mirror: lying on your left or right side, standing in half a turn, turning either to the right or to the left.

After the position for the injection in the buttock is chosen and the medicine is drawn into the syringe, you need to grab the injection tool itself in a special way. To do this, take the syringe in your working hand and remove the cap from the needle. With your other hand, grab a fairly large fold of skin, in the outer upper quarter of the buttocks. The resulting skin roller is the injection site. Bring the syringe perpendicular to it and insert the needle with a sharp movement (you can take a deep breath). Relax and, holding the syringe like a ballpoint pen (i.e. holding the needle at its base), inject the medicine slowly. After the drug is injected, abruptly remove the needle and press and massage the punctured area with a pre-prepared cotton swab with alcohol.

In principle, an injection in the ass is not so difficult, even if you are very far from medicine. If you are still overcome by fear, you can first practice (so to speak, "fill your hand") on your favorite pillow or large plush toy.

In many cases, the drug is recommended to be administered intramuscularly. With this method, the gastrointestinal tract is not injured, the drug is quickly spread by the blood throughout the body. The word “intramuscularly” in relation to adults means an injection in the gluteal muscle, but when it comes to children, everything is not so clear.

Injection technique for young children

How successfully the first injection will be made to the child depends on his attitude to this procedure for the rest of his life. Therefore, if you decide to make it for your baby yourself, be calm and confident. He will certainly feel any excitement. Act quickly, clearly and accurately. Then the procedure will be the least painful for you and the baby.

Choose syringes depending on the volume of the injected drug. Give preference to thin and short needles. If you need to inject 1 or 2 ml, you can purchase insulin syringes.

Psychological preparation of the baby

Preparing for an injection

Immediately before the procedure, do the following:

wash your hands with soap;
prepare a cotton swab, alcohol (or buy disposable wipes in advance at the pharmacy for treating injection sites), a syringe in a closed original packaging, an ampoule with the drug;
open the syringe and ampoule;
draw the drug into the syringe and bleed excess air;
treat the needle insertion site;
securely fix the child, be prepared for the fact that he will begin to resist;
quickly inject the needle, slowly inject the drug and remove it, pressing at the end with a cotton pad;
treat the wound.

If you make an injection in the leg, then put the child on your knees, with your hand press his hands to your chest, fix your legs. If in the buttock, then put the baby on your knees, butt up, while pressing his legs with one foot, and lightly press on his back with your hand.

If you are afraid that the child will twitch and you will not be able to immediately find the right place to insert the needle, first put a green dot. It's harmless and will make you feel better.

Where to prick?

The injection site depends on the age of the patient. In the first years of life, the injection is given only in the upper part of the thigh. As a rule, the phrase "the first years of life" means infancy up to 3 years. It depends not only on age, but also on physique and weight. Small and thin children will receive injections in the thigh for longer than their larger peers.

Such a place for kids was not chosen by chance. The thing is that in babies, the vessels and nerves are located closer to the skin simply because they are small both in age and in size. To reduce the risk of a needle entering the sciatic nerve or vein, injections are given in the thigh. It's safer that way.

An intramuscular injection in a child older than 3 years should be done in the buttock. To do this, the half of the priests is mentally divided into 4 squares, and the syringe needle is inserted into the center of the upper square, which is closer to the edge of the priests.

If you inject regularly, then alternate needle insertion sites. That is, if today you pricked your right leg or right buttock, then tomorrow you prick in the left side of the body. When you again inject into the right leg, then step back from the previous wound by 1-2 cm in different directions.

How to insert the needle and drug correctly?

Before inserting the needle, it is necessary to grab the skin with two fingers, as if you were trying to pinch a child. The distance between them should be about 3-4 cm. When you are already holding the child with one hand and giving an injection with the other, then ask someone to help you.

The needle should be inserted quickly and accurately, perpendicular to the baby's body part. If you delay, you will only increase the suffering of the patient. Press the piston slowly and smoothly so that the drug enters the body gradually.

Removing the syringe

Before removing the needle, press a cotton swab soaked in alcohol near the injection site, and then quickly withdraw the needle. Massage lightly around the wound. This will disinfect it and disperse the drug through the capillaries in the muscle, preventing it from accumulating at one point. Then you can seal the wound with a band-aid for 15 minutes so that dirt does not get into it.
