The university was created on the basis of the All-Union Order of the Red Banner of Labor Correspondence Polytechnic Institute by Government Decree Russian Federation dated February 20, 1992 No. 101. MGOU today is a wide educational network. It consists of 7 institutes (branches), 18 branches and 6 representative offices located throughout Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. The university trains specialists in engineering and humanitarian fields through full-time, part-time and part-time courses.
