Memorial complex frontier of glory in bullfinches. Tank Museum in Snegiry

In my articles about Dmitrovsky's work search party“The Frontier of Glory” I have already talked about the Soviet DB-3 bomber found this year near the village of Zhitnikovo in the Sergiev Posad region. On November 23, 1941, a plane flown by junior lieutenant Grigory Zamaraev flew out to bomb Zavidovo near Moscow, where the 3rd tank group of the Wehrmacht was concentrated. The Germans were preparing to attack Moscow. Of the 8 winged cars that day, only 7 returned ...

Commander DB-3 Grigory Zamaraev

The search engines accidentally came to the place of the fall of the combat vehicle. Helped locals the village of Zhitnikovo. Anatoly Aleksandrovich Kuzmin, born in 1931, witnessed a plane crash into a copse. For several days, search work continued at the crash site. To extract fragments of the car, a lot of water had to be pumped out, several cubes of wood had to be cut out. And here it is - the long-awaited piece of duralumin with the serial number of the aircraft (180416). It was found by a cadet of the Dmitrov School No. 7, Nikola Peshkov, who took part in the expedition for the first time. Using this number, the head of the detachment, Sergei Rybakov, using the archives, found the crew of the aircraft and established the details of the tragic death of the pilots.

Serial number DB-3

The aircraft was assigned to the 51st bomber regiment of the 52nd air division. long range and flew on a mission from the Gryazi airfield near Ryazan. The design of the DB-3 long-range bomber made it possible to take on board more than a ton of bombs. The plane of Grigory Zamaraev, loaded to the eyeballs, was apparently shot down, or one of the two engines simply failed in the car. An eyewitness to the disaster, Anatoly Kuzmin, who was only 10 years old in 1941, said that on that sunny autumn day he saw a burning aircraft engine. The commander decided to drop some of the bombs and tried to land the car. And when he realized that this would not work, he ordered the crew to jump with parachutes. Two pilots escaped, and the commander Grigory Zamaraev himself and the gunner-radio operator Nikolai But died like heroes.

Relatives of Zamaraev

The administration of the Pristensky district of the Kursk region, where the hero was born (the village of Maslovka), helped find the relatives of the vehicle commander Grigory Zamaraev. Today they live in Kaluga and immediately responded to a letter from Dmitrov. Arrival at Dmitrovsky district and travel to the crash site of the bomber helped organize the search detachment "Frontier of Glory" and the Dmitrov branch public organization"The Brotherhood of War". Three nephews (Eugene, Grigory, Vladimir) and their grandchildren (Sergey, Anatoly, Irina) laid flowers and took with them the land near Moscow, where Grigory Zamaraev died. Now we have to establish contact with another member of the crew - shooter Nikolai But. But it will be much more difficult to do this, since he was born in Ukraine.

Project "Aborted Flight"

Sergey Rybakov also spoke about a new project he called Interrupted Flight. The idea is that commemorative stones with photographs will be installed at the site of the crash. dead pilots. Behind the shoulders of the search detachment "Frontier of Glory" - dozens of excavations, hundreds of reburied fighters. This is hard work, because you need not only to unearth, inspect, find the aircraft number, the mortal medallion of a soldier, but to carry out thorough work with archival documents to get in touch with relatives. The bones of our warriors still lie in the damp soil near Moscow. And each of them must be reburied with full military honors. This is our sacred duty to the dead.

At the 41st kilometer of the Volokolamsk Highway, the legendary T-34 tank stands on a granite pedestal.

Under it, an inscription is inscribed in the stone: “Here, on the terrible days of the autumn of 1941, the valiant soldiers of the 16th Army stopped the enemy. From here, on December 6, 1941, they went on the offensive and began to rout Nazi German invaders".

The tank is facing from Moscow, showing the direction in which, after December 6, 1941, the Red Army drove the Nazis.

Behind the tank are concrete pyramids.

On one of the pyramids is attached a tablet with a poem:

Worth, zavyuzhen and weathered,
In all might and glory
At the forty-first mile
Volokolamsk highway.

That's why I got up, like a miracle,
That fought with all his might,
That in a terrible hour to Moscow from here
He didn't retreat an inch.

Yuri Melnikov

Behind the pedestal stands a sculptural group: the Mother of God with the Savior Not Made by Hands and two angels on her sides.

Under the sculpture is the inscription: "The Blessed Mother of God, the patroness of Holy Russia, who granted victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."

Nearby is Lenino-Snegirevsky military history museum, leading its history since May 9, 1967. The museum's collection includes more than 15,000 exhibits related to the events of the Great Patriotic War: documents, personal items, books, big collection awards, armored vehicles and artillery installations of the Second World War

Near the museum there are commemorative plaques with the names of the fallen in battles.

Have a nice trip!

Special thanks to Peter Nikonov for organizing the trip to Snegiri.

"Frontier of Glory" - Memorial complex in Bullfinches. 42 km. Volokolamskoe highway.

This Saturday I went with a friend to New Jerusalem, because I promised that I would put this monastery on the site. Moreover, restoration work is underway there. By the way, they are almost completed, but that will be a separate issue. And not far from New Jerusalem, we saw an amazing memorial and decided to way back be sure to visit him. And we stopped by. This topic is the result.

On November 30, 1941, on the 42nd kilometer of the Volokolamsk highway, the 78th rifle division Colonel Afanasy Beloborodov. The enemy struck in this area with the forces of the 10th Panzer and motorized divisions of the SS "Das Reich", the 252nd and 87th infantry divisions along the Volokolamsk highway. (See map.) For bravery in battle, fortitude and courage, the 78th Infantry Division was awarded the title of 9th Guards on November 26, 1941.

On May 9, 1967, at the 42nd kilometer of the Volokolamsk highway, where the last line passed, on which the guardsmen of A.P. Beloborodov stopped the advance of the German troops, a memorial was opened.

A T-34-85 tank and concrete pyramids were installed on a high platform. The inscription on the granite pedestal reads: “Here, in the terrible days of the autumn of 1941, the valiant soldiers of the 16th Army stopped the enemy. From here, in December 1941, they launched a decisive offensive and began to crush the Nazi invaders. The authors of the memorial are architect S. Nekrasov, engineer R. Nesvizhskaya. Not only the allies of the USSR, but also the enemies recognized that the T-34 was the best tank of the WWII period. The Nazis encountered the T-34 on the first day of the war. “A miracle weapon,” wrote one German speaker to his superiors, “sowing fear and horror wherever it appears ...”.

Recently, a high hillock with an icon of saints was erected.

It is hard to see due to the position of the sun and I found a better picture on the Internet.

The exposition of the museum is dedicated to the 16th Army under the command of K. K. Rokossovsky. The museum complex includes two open-air exhibition sites: a tank platform (equipment from the Second World War) and a military memorial cemetery with the grave of twice Hero of the Soviet Union A.P. Beloborodov. There is a building in a small pine grove.

Long brick and unremarkable. Before the invasion of the German troops, this building was rural school, which the Nazis turned into a fortress. It is in this building that the museum is located, which stores the trophies of the war: military equipment, personal belongings of the soldiers found in the places where the battles took place. The founder of the museum is Usanevich Igor Vladimirovich, engineer of NPO Almaz, then director of the museum (he died on September 10, 2000). On the night of September 10, 2010, a fire broke out in the museum, as a result of which the main building of the museum was completely burned out. Only a third of the exhibits were saved - the rest, including the personal belongings of the participants in the Battle of Moscow and unique documents relating to the military history of the region and the country, were destroyed.

The main attraction of the museum is the tank platform in front of the main building. It is open around the clock. Near the museum building there is also a rare exhibit - one of the first Soviet tanks MS-1 of the 1930 model. Attention is drawn to the tank, for one person combining both the driver and the shooter. Already in the mid-30s, these vehicles were considered obsolete, but, nevertheless, 9 MS-1 tanks took part in the battle for the capital.

Behind this tank is the Field Kitchen. Conditional, of course, now there is an open-air cafe, but there is a field kitchen.

The pride of the exposition is the "tiger", the so-called German tank T-VI H, of which there are only 4 pieces left in the world.

The undercarriage of the combat vehicle is broken, the hull has many holes, but the tank still looks menacing. This is one of the few surviving German heavy tanks "Tiger", which the museum almost lost in 2001. The tank, discovered by Sergei Tsvetkov (the head of the group for the search and burial of the remains of participants in the Great Patriotic War "Ekipazh" at the Nakhabino training ground, became the cause of the conflict between the two heads of the Russian regions in 2001-2003 - the governor of the Moscow region Boris Gromov and the Saratov governor Dmitry Ayatskov.

It was believed that the tank was one of six "Tigers" shot down in the Leningrad direction on September 21, 1942 on the Mga-Sinyavino road, but this information is not true.

Next to him is a Sherman - an American M4-A2 tank,

German tank T-2B Germany 1938. Modernized in 1940. Such tanks were used in the attack on the USSR. This one was raised from the bottom of the Istra reservoir in 1995.

And several self-propelled units. And again tanks.

All vehicles are combat vehicles, they still have holes from hit shells and traces of bullets. There is a similar museum in Kubinka near Moscow, but there you can’t climb on tanks and climb inside, it’s allowed here.

Katyusha was also there, however, in a single copy.

And an anti-aircraft missile system.

Not far away is a stele with tablets listing the names of the front-line soldiers who died at this turn.

There is also a memorial complex "To Siberian Warriors" on the territory of the museum. There are several monuments on the territory of the museum, among which is a memorial - something similar to a grave unknown soldier in the Alexander Garden. The second monument is a part of the Kremlin wall, against which the soldiers stand.

In 1941, when fierce battles were going on near the capital of the USSR, Moscow, Siberian soldiers made a huge contribution to the defeat of the Nazis. Many years after those terrible events, the Siberian compatriots of the capital had an idea - to erect a memorial near Moscow in memory of the exploits of those Siberians who bravely fought against the German troops and helped Soviet army defend Moscow. The governments of Moscow and the region supported the initiative of the compatriots, as a result of which, on December 5, 2001 (the days of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the start of the counteroffensive of the Soviet troops in the battle near the capital), the Lenino-Snegirevsky Memorial Complex to the Siberian soldiers "Frontier of Glory" was opened in the village. Lenino before entering Snegiri. There is also a Gort and an eternal flame.

Two armies, 26 divisions, 6 rifle brigades and a list of names of 19 Siberian soldiers awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the battle near Moscow are immortalized on the memorial plates of the Memorial.

That's not all memorial plaques. There are many more of them. Each time, the memory of those who died in those days is honored with a Minute of Silence. But that's not all. There are other monuments nearby.

And, including those who died in Afghanistan. But this is the Snegiri military memorial complex, which was built in 1997.

Including the Alley of memory of special forces of Russia.

And next to it is a chapel.

Well, here we are back to the car. And field daisies bloom, symbolizing peaceful life! Children sit behind gun carriages and walk next to formidable machines. And somewhere fascism reared its head again!

The Lenino-Snegirevsky Museum is not only interesting for its unique military exhibits, but also has historical meaning. It is located in the Istra district, at 42 km of the Volokolamsk highway in the village of Snegiri. The museum operates in former building schools in exactly the same place where Soviet troops stopped the German invaders.

History of the museum in Snegiry

In the battle for Moscow, the events that unfolded here played an important role. In 1941, the 78th Infantry Division (later the 9th Guards Division) under the command of A.P. Beloborodov took part in fierce battles, and the Nazis turned the school building in Snegiry into a fortress. Having held this line and stopped the enemy, the Red Army was able to go on the offensive. By the way, the events of 1941 are reflected in detail in feature film"Division Commander's Day", which is recommended to see before visiting the museum.

Anniversary Great Victory in 1966, it was decided to open a military history museum, and at the last frontier, from where the Soviet troops began their offensive, a memorial was created.

The Lenino-Snegirevsky Military History Museum was considered a national museum for many years. But in 1986, he received the status of the state, and the collection was replenished with new exhibits and expanded. In the 90s, they began to bring to the site in front of the museum military equipment. Later, a video hall was opened where visitors can watch newsreels.

Unfortunately, in 2010 a fire destroyed part of the collection, but a third of the exhibits were saved. And it should be noted, despite the heavy losses, the museum has become better and more interesting, especially for young people.

Museum collection

Over the years since its foundation, the museum has collected significant material and documentary material - more than 15,000 items. It became the only large repository of such valuable exhibits related to the war in the Istra region. Attention deserves the fact that 90% of things are originals.

The museum exhibits materials and documents on the history of the Istra region and the whole country during the war years. The collection includes an extensive library with author's inscriptions on books, personal belongings of Soviet and German soldiers, collection of awards, weapons, photographs, letters.

AT museum complex includes tank and artillery platforms in the open. Here is one of the few survivors German tanks"Tiger". He was shot down near Leningrad, then transported to the Moscow region and abandoned for a long time. In addition to it, you can see the Soviet T-34, T-26, a field gun, two rare american tank, anti-aircraft guns and self-propelled guns.

On the territory of the Lenino-Snegirevsky Military History Museum there is a complex dedicated to the memory of Siberian soldiers. This memorial with a sculptural composition and eternal flame immortalized the memory of several divisions, armies and rifle brigades that defended Moscow. In addition, the names of Siberians are carved on it - Heroes of the Soviet Union, who were awarded high rank after the battle for Moscow.

On the military memorial is the grave of A.P. Beloborodov, the famous military leader, whose division stopped the German offensive on the Volokolamsk highway.

The Lenino-Snegirevsky Military History Museum is one of the best museums of its kind not only in the Moscow region, but also in Russia. Detailed story about the Battle of Moscow and the battles in one of the main directions is very interesting, especially to the younger generation. The museum's tank collection is also unique and is sometimes referred to as the "tank museum". It should be noted that, unlike the "academic" collection of the museum in Kubinka, in Snegiry all the exhibits can be touched by hand. This is what young visitors use when conquering the heights of tank towers.
