Literature about the Nerussa River

Nerussa River - POEMS

Nerussa
Gennady Sobolev-Trubetskoy

1
Not in Andreevsky places
I go, but on my own,
covered with morning dew and dear from childhood.
The Nerussa River is like a thread of a magic ball:
in the beginning - childhood, and in the end -
see the old man

suddenly in his reflection, trying to draw water;
only the bushes will sadly run down my back...
All the pikes that are caught here, I remember in person,
at their behest always... away from fools

keep me a little aloof, trying to celebrate
like a willow leaf will fall into the silver surface,
and barely noticeable circles in an invisible wave
inexorably circled around the entire globe of the earth ...

2
Echoed back, silent sound
sing to me like Lel
about how the source hides at distant lands.
From those pagan lands that did not know the Cross,
your name has come to these places.

And by the river, in the dense forest, the robber Kudeyar
treasures hid a myriad treasure
under the quiet light of Stozhar.
Here everyone can find them, but there is one secret -
special advice to take with you:

“Look into all your eyes, but let the soul see”;
then you will understand this magical world, breathing a little:
and the silk of the grass, and the velvet of the moss, and the silver of the water,
evening dew pearls and diamond stars ...

3
Mound. The tract of the Slavs
with a strange name "Rum",
and Byzantine merchants come to my mind.
here is a clear face on silver ... and hundreds of years later
Porphyrogenitus Constantine looks here from the coins.

BUT new Age, hurrying forward, will bite the bit.
The water took everything with it: both time and deeds ...
With a Russian soul - its water is deep, pure ...
With a non-Russian name, the river is my treasure!

Heat
Gennady Sobolev-Trubetskoy

July, Nerussa and heat - three words like an etude ...
At the bottom, the lying ides puff, but do not peck.
It itches with laziness and therefore the midges are false,
And in the sky - faded blue color what a day… heat…

Once a fast stream is in no hurry today,
Curved shadows from willows - like sleepy snakes ...
And what to do if the brain boils already in the morning,
Poems have not been written for a long time ... what a hot day ...

Only the aromas of summer herbs on the wings of a dragonfly
It will take you to such a distance, where, closing your eyes,
Imagination will carry away not the body, but me ...
There is no heat, it is good there until the end of the day ..

But suddenly the float woke up and woke up the whole world.
And now my gaze is again ready to drill it to holes.
Instantly, a terrible heat rushed somewhere,
Leaving this frame in a hurry, in it only me and the ide ...

Nerussa in literature

Nerussa in the work of Daniil Andreev

« I wouldn’t even exchange the magnificent Volga for this unknown river. It flows in the middle of a virgin forest, where you don’t meet people all day long, where gigantic oaks, colossal ash and maple trees wash their roots in fast-flowing water, so transparent, so clean that the whole world of underwater plants and fish becomes accessible and clear. Only once a year, for a few days, these places are flooded with people; these are the days of haymaking, passing in a narrow strip along the coastal lawns. The hay is mowed, stacked in haystacks (very convenient, by the way, for overnight stays) - and again there is no one - for dozens of miles, only dragonflies dance over the vines drooping to the water.

Boris Romanov's book Journey with Daniil Andreev is dedicated to Nerussa and its environs.

In 2014, a museum of D.L. Andreeva.

Settlements on the Desna (from source to mouth)

the right tributary - These are the Machines of God's people, - said Prince Andrei. They took us for their father. And this is the only thing in which she does not obey him: he orders to drive these wanderers, and she accepts them.
- What are God's people? Pierre asked.
Prince Andrei did not have time to answer him. The servants went out to meet him, and he asked where the old prince was and how soon they were waiting for him.
The old prince was still in the city, and they were waiting for him every minute.
Prince Andrei led Pierre to his quarters, which always awaited him in perfect order in his father's house, and he himself went to the nursery.
“Let's go to my sister,” said Prince Andrei, returning to Pierre; - I have not seen her yet, she is now hiding and sitting with her God people. Serve her right, she will be embarrassed, and you will see God's people. C "est curieux, ma parole. [This is curious, honestly.]
- Qu "est ce que c" est que [What is] God's people? Pierre asked.
- But you'll see.
Princess Mary was really embarrassed and blushed in spots when they entered her. In her cozy room with lamps in front of the icon cases, on the sofa, behind the samovar, sat next to her a young boy with long nose and long hair, and in a monastic cassock.
On an armchair, beside him, sat a wrinkled, thin old woman with a meek expression of a child's face.
- Andre, pourquoi ne pas m "avoir prevenu? [Andrey, why didn’t they warn me?] - she said with meek reproach, standing in front of her wanderers, like a hen in front of chickens.
– Charmee de vous voir. Je suis tres contente de vous voir, [Very glad to see you. I am so pleased to see you,] she said to Pierre, while he was kissing her hand. She knew him as a child, and now his friendship with Andrei, his misfortune with his wife, and most importantly, his kind, simple face, endeared her to him. She looked at him with her beautiful, radiant eyes and seemed to say: "I love you very much, but please don't laugh at mine." After exchanging the first phrases of greeting, they sat down.
“Ah, and Ivanushka is here,” said Prince Andrei, pointing with a smile at the young wanderer.
– Andrew! said Princess Mary pleadingly.
- Il faut que vous sachiez que c "est une femme, [Know that this is a woman] - said Andrei to Pierre.
Andre, au nom de Dieu! [Andrey, for God's sake!] - repeated Princess Marya.
It was evident that the mocking attitude of Prince Andrei towards the wanderers and the useless intercession for them by Princess Marya were habitual, established relations between them.
- Mais, ma bonne amie, - said Prince Andrei, - vous devriez au contraire m "etre reconaissante de ce que j" explique a Pierre votre intimite avec ce jeune homme ... [But, my friend, you should be grateful to me that I explain to Pierre your closeness to this young man.]
– Vrayment? [Really?] - Pierre said curiously and seriously (for which Princess Mary was especially grateful to him), peering through glasses at Ivanushka's face, who, realizing that it was about him, looked around at everyone with cunning eyes.
Princess Marya was quite unnecessarily embarrassed for her own people. They didn't hesitate at all. The old woman, lowering her eyes, but glancing askance at the newcomers, knocking her cup upside down on a saucer and placing a bitten piece of sugar beside her, calmly and motionlessly sat on her chair, waiting to be offered more tea. Ivanushka, drinking from a saucer, slyly from under her brows, woman's eyes looked at the young people.
- Where, in Kyiv was? Prince Andrei asked the old woman.
- There was, father, - the old woman answered loquaciously, - on Christmas itself, she was honored with the saints, heavenly secrets from the saints. And now from Kolyazin, father, great grace has opened ...
- Well, is Ivanushka with you?
“I’m walking on my own, breadwinner,” Ivanushka said, trying to speak in a bass voice. - Only in Yukhnov did they agree with Pelageyushka ...
Pelageyushka interrupted her comrade; She seemed to want to tell what she saw.
- In Kolyazin, father, great grace has opened.
- Well, new relics? asked Prince Andrew.
“Enough, Andrei,” said Princess Mary. - Don't tell me, Pelageushka.
- No ... what are you, mother, why not tell? I love him. He is kind, exacted by God, he gave me, a benefactor, rubles, I remember. As I was in Kyiv, Kiryusha the holy fool tells me - truly a man of God, he walks barefoot in winter and summer. Why are you walking, he says, out of your place, go to Kolyazin, there is a miraculous icon, Mother Blessed Virgin Mary has opened. With those words, I said goodbye to the saints and went ...

REPORT
about a water tourist trip along the Nerussa River, made by a group of tourists from the city of Orel in the period from July 31 to August 03, 2009.

Group leader: Kravchenko D.V.

1.1. general characteristics route
Travel area: Bryansk region

Travel duration - 4 days
The length of the water part of the route is 40 km.
Water level - medium

1.2. Route selection
The hike was conceived as a purely mattress event with the aim of relaxing in nature, swimming, sunbathing, fishing and rowing a little. Since there were two people in the group with no experience of water trips, another goal was to introduce people to water tourism. The choice of the route was determined by several criteria: first, the time limit; second, the absence of serious obstacles on the river; Kaluga region.

1.3. Distribution of the group by crew
1. Taimen-3 kayak No. 1: Denis and Oleg
2. Taimen-3 kayak No. 2: Sergey and Galina

1.4. Information about the travel area
Nerussa is a river flowing through the Oryol and Bryansk regions. It is the left tributary of the Desna, into which it flows 4 kilometers below the city of Trubchevsk. The length of the river is 161 kilometers, the basin area is 5630 sq. km.
Located on the river state reserve"Bryansk Forest" with an area of about 12 thousand hectares. The prohibited area for watercraft begins below the village of Yamnoye.
It is convenient to start the water part of the route from the bridge of the Moscow-Kyiv highway, and finish in three options:
Option 1 - stop before reaching the bridge of the railway road Moscow - Bryansk - Kyiv 2 kilometers and go along the path through the forest to the commuter train stop "480 km.", From where you can go to Bryansk or Suzemka.
Option 2 - the water part can be completed in the village of Denisovka (there is a road bridge and a road across the river). AT this case the route is extended by 14 kilometers. You can get from Denisovka to Suzemka or Trubchevsk by bus, which runs 3-4 times a week or by taxi (you can call from Suzemka by phone).
Option 3 - you can also finish the route in the village of Smeliz, this will lengthen the water part by another 11 km.
For the transfer to the river from Orel, we agreed with a familiar minibus driver, who took us to the river itself, and the drop from the river was carried out according to the first option.

1.5. Route Description

31.07.09.
We left Orel at 10:00. We drove through Dmitrovsk-Orlovsky and Komarichi, then along the Kyiv highway to the bridge over the Nerussa, before reaching the village of Lokot. At 12-15 we arrived at the river. Packing kayaks, packing and lunch took three hours. Our group set sail at 15-15, began water part route.
The family crew Sergei and Galya have no experience of water trips and the guys sit in a kayak for the first time in their lives. At first they did not manage to manage very well, but after our prompts with Oleg, the kayak began to slowly obey them. We showed the guys how some maneuvers are performed: turns and turns, although they don’t succeed in everything, Sergey and Galya like to swim. It is obvious that they are happy. I abandoned the spinning on the go and tried to catch on the track. As a result, I got a 350-400 gr.
Total time rafting was three and a half hours, including one stop to walk along the shore and stretch the stiff parts of the body. The weather is good, hot.
We stop for the night on the right bank at 18-45. The coast is high, more than 2 meters. They dragged kayaks up, and set up camp under a pine tree. We cooked supper and fried a bee-chuck that had been caught during the day. After dinner, Sergei and I tried to fish: he used a float rod, and I used a spinning rod. Unfortunately, the fish are not biting.
There are a lot of horseflies throughout the day, there are no mosquitoes. In the evening, when it got dark, the horseflies disappeared, but mosquitoes appeared.

01.08.09.
Breakfast at 8-30, then fees. We left at 10-10. The river winds strongly, the sun begins to bake. We sailed past some local peasant in camouflage, either a fisherman or a forester.
After a couple of hours of rowing, we found a good sandy beach at the bend of the river, where we stopped to warm up and sunbathe. Oleg did not waste time in vain and bathed.
After a little rest, we moved on. Sergey and Galina, today, manage to manage the kayak much better than yesterday. They slowly gain experience. Oleg and I tell them how best to maneuver when bypassing snags that come across in the riverbed. As a result, both crews successfully pass all obstacles in the form of snags and trees that have fallen into the water.
For lunch we stopped on the right bank opposite the confluence of the left tributary of the Usozha River into the Nerussa. There is a table, benches, a fire pit and a garbage pit. Along the river runs a slightly hackneyed country road. apparently locals sometimes they come here to rest. While we were having lunch, a man on a Belarus tractor drove past us.
The weather begins to deteriorate, the wind, the first clouds appeared in the sky.
After lunch, we set sail at 14-15, and soon sailed past the same Belarus tractor, the driver of which was sitting on the shore and fishing.
The wind picked up and soon it began to rain. We put on raincoats, but everyone is still wet. The rain intensified even more and both crews moored off the right bank under a sprawling bank hanging over the water. We waited about 15 minutes until the rain subsided a little and went on. I tried to fish on the track, but no bites. While sailing, they waited for the mouth of the Sev River to appear, from which mixed forests begin to the very railway. Finally, the long-awaited merger of Nerussa and Seva. Then the power lines passed. On the banks of the river there is a continuous forest, the banks are high.
You can already hear the noise of the railway. At the bend of the river, they moored to rest. After resting for 10-15 minutes, we moved longer. We need to find a parking lot on the left bank from which it would be convenient to walk to the suburban train stop "480 km.". The river makes one turn, then another, and now our group finds an excellent parking lot. Although the coast is quite high, but there is a convenient descent to the water and a sandy beach. At the top there is a large clearing, a bonfire, along the river there is a path that should go to the piece of iron.
We quickly unloaded the kayaks and set up camp. During this time, the weather cleared up completely and after dinner Sergey sat down on the shore to fish. He managed to catch a few roaches and scavengers, which means we have fried fish for dinner. The rest of the hikers go about their business and just relax.

02.08.09.
Today we have a day. We woke up at 9-00, and Seryoga was already sitting on the shore with a fishing rod, but he was biting badly. The weather is great, although the sky was cloudy in the morning, but then the sky cleared of clouds and the sun came out.
After breakfast, Oleg and I went to scout the way to the train stop. There is a good path from the parking lot to the railway station, along which we reached the bus stop in about 40 minutes. There is a village near the platform, there is no shop in the village. On the map, it is marked as the village of Nerussa, and on the right bank of the river, 4 kilometers from the bridge, there is the Nerussa station.
We returned to the camp before lunch, began to dry the kayaks. Since it was very hot while the soup was being cooked, Oleg and I swam in the river, the water is excellent. After lunch, I went along the river to leave the spinning, Sergey Galya lay down in a tent to take a nap, and Oleg, having placed a rug on the grass, lies and bastards. While I was fishing, I met a fisherman with a spinning rod. He said he didn't catch anything either.
Wonderful weather. Clearly, there are small clouds in the sky. There are no mosquitoes, few horseflies.
At 6:30 p.m., the kayaks began to be packed. Then Oleg and I carried them to the forest along the path, while Sergey and Galya again remained in the camp. At 20-45 we returned, leaving the packages with the boats in the forest, hiding them not far from the trail and disguising them. We managed to carry them about 2/3 of the way. While we were gone, Galya baked pancakes with raisins and dried apricots.
After dinner, Oleg tried to fish with a spinning rod, and Sergey, as always, with a float. Cleve is not.
Mosquitoes appeared at sunset. Everyone gathered around the fire, boiled tea, sat and chatted for a long time. We went to bed at 23:50.

03.08.09.
Today we have to leave, so we got up at 8 o'clock in the morning. We had breakfast and started getting ready. We packed two backpacks, then sat in front of the road for about 20 minutes. At 11-52 our group set off. Backpacks were carried in turn, and Galya walked lightly. We overcame several blockages on the trail and finally reached the last blockage, where packages with kayaks are hidden not far from the trail. Here we rested and, taking the kayaks, moved on. Now everyone was carrying a load: Denis, Oleg and Sergey carried packages with boats and a heavy backpack, and Galya carried a light backpack.
The group reached the platform when there was still more than an hour left before our train. So we went to the village to draw water from the well and buy a loaf of bread for dinner. While waiting for the train, we dined on sandwiches with cod liver and raw smoked sausage, washed down with iced tea and well water.
The train to Bryansk arrived at 13-20, in Bryansk it should be at 15-17, but it was a little late, at the same time we bought beer and mineral water. We successfully boarded the Bryansk-Orel train, which departs from Bryansk at 15:50 and arrives in Orel at 18:58. While we were driving, we took a nap, several times the ticket inspectors checked our tickets. And here we are in Orel, as scheduled at 18-58. Our hike is over.

1.6 Conclusions and recommendations
1. The group passed the route completely, without incidents and accidents, according to the planned schedule.
2. Beginners got acquainted with water tourism, received initial skills in managing a kayak, got acquainted with camping life.
3. All participants of the trip had a good rest and received a lot of positive emotions.
4. The advantages of this route are:
- simple transfer to the river and throw out from the river;
- the opportunity to go on weekend water trips, tk. the water part is covered in 1-1.5 days;
- the absence of a population in this section of the river;
- lack of competition with other groups for parking, due to the rare attendance of the route;
- the absence of impassable blockages on this section of the river;
- berries in the forest: wild strawberries, stone berries, lingonberries;
- few mosquitoes (mostly appear after dark)
5. The disadvantages of this route are:
- high banks and, as a result, the lack of good approaches to the water, and therefore, it is difficult to find a place for parking;
- bad fishing;
- horseflies are active during the day.
6. In general, the river loses to the same Resseta, located in the Kaluga region, in terms of the beauty of places and the availability of convenient parking lots. But given river quite suitable for introducing beginners to water tourism, as well as for those who want to diversify their water trips in middle lane Russia.

1.7 Camping expenses
1. Delivery by motor transport Orel - r. Nerussa - 125.00 rubles per person;
2. Products, according to the layout - 400.00 rubles per person;
3. Train 480 km. - Bryansk - 132.00 rubles per person;
4. Electric train Bryansk - Orel - 168.00 rubles / person.
Total: RUB 825.00/person or 3300.00 rubles/group.

This estimate did not include individual expenses for beer, over-layout products and repellents, because these things did not affect the effectiveness of the route and were taken by the participants of the campaign based on personal desires and needs.
