What is a UFO - facts and conjectures, what is known about extraterrestrial civilizations at the moment? A UFO flew under a plane in Herne Bay. So what to do if you do encounter a UFO

It is easy to understand the laughter and skepticism of those people who have never been fortunate enough to encounter a UFO. After all, if their existence is still in doubt, who will prove that they exist? However, the reality of their existence can only be understood by those who have seen something completely unreal in the sky above them.

For writer Justin Sanders, it all started as a child in his parents' backyard. Noticing that his son became interested in astronomy, his parents bought him a telescope, in which he liked to examine the craters on the moon.

“One night, when I was all alone and looking at the moon, something on the right caught my eye. I stepped back from the telescope and raised my head. High above me hung three triangular objects, each with lights at its corners. They didn't move or make any sound."- Justin still remembers that fear and amazement, because of which he could not move and speak.

Looking at the illuminated ships, he realized that they were UFOs. As a child, he heard stories about aliens, and he always found the stories rather funny.

“Imagine my sudden surprise and disbelief when all this happened, Justin Sanders continued. - Needless to say, I packed up my telescope and went to bed. I turned on the radio in my room as I always listened to music to fall asleep. But what I heard destroyed all my resolve. There was no music, a robotic conversation in some foreign language sounded on the air. I quickly turned off the radio and from fear I could not sleep.

The next morning, fearing that he would be called a liar, Justin said nothing to his parents. Instead, he approached his younger brother who has always been his friend and confidant. He hoped that his brother would take what he heard with understanding and want to go see the ships that night, and although he agreed to do this, he still laughed for a long time.

"What to do if you see a UFO?"– Sanders brought out ten important rules, which must be observed when meeting with extraterrestrial ships:

Keep calm.

Be absolutely objective.

Film a UFO on your mobile phone.

Record everything you see on a voice recorder.

Ask other bystanders to do the same.

Do not approach the place where the UFO can land.

Try to determine its size.

Try to determine the distance to the UFO.

Be prepared to protect yourself from those who might come out of the UFO.

Report what you see research organization UFO.

Justin Sanders, reminding that almost all astronauts have encountered UFOs, hopes his advice will help ordinary people be more savvy in this matter.

In January 2008, in the small town of Stephenville, located in central Texas, a 30-year-old retired air force Steve Allen (Steve Allen) observed something that, in his words, contrary to logic - a strange aircraft one mile wide, the side lights of which "changed their configuration." According to Steve, the object moved silently at a speed of about 3,000 miles per hour.

“I don't know if it was a biblical vision or someone from another galaxy, but it's definitely not from our place,” Steve said when sharing his impressions with a reporter from the Empire-Tribune.

A little later, similar messages came from Erath County (Erath County). In fact, separate contacts took place in the same area until October. Thus, this region has become one of the last places ranked among the so-called "UFO hot spots" - geographical areas with the highest probability of encountering similar unexplained phenomena.

According to MUFON, an organization with more than 3,000 members and about 750 field researchers involved in UFO research in 25 countries around the world, the number of reports of visual encounters has increased significantly over last years. Of course, often people encounter something that can be rationally explained, but in about 20% of cases we are talking about unexplained phenomena.

On the other hand, with the improvement technical means the activity of participants in the SETI program is becoming more and more noticeable, trying to detect and establish contact with extraterrestrial intelligent beings using the signals sent. And yet, direct sightings of UFOs remain one of the most important sources of information. Below you are invited to familiarize yourself with several locations also known for unusual UFO activity.

Puerto Rico

Unlike similar places, this island in the northern Caribbean Sea is known for the so-called "NGOs" or "unidentified floating objects" that are observed from time to time in the vicinity of the El Yunque rainforest, covering about 28,000 acres of the west coast. One of the most recent contacts occurred on January 23, 2010, when strange UFO with four rocket-like engines was spotted by a girl driving from Utuado to Bayamon.

By the way, for many people who are interested in UFOs, Puerto Rico is also associated with a well-known hoax, which at one time stirred up a lot of controversy - it is she who is presented in the proposed video.

Sochi, Russia

UFO hunting has practically become one of the new competitions in this city, which is preparing for the 2014 Winter Olympics. In a relatively short period of time, several hundred reports were received about the appearance of a UFO. In particular, according to one of the witnesses, undefined object flew over the Russian Riviera at very high speed and out of sight before merging with the sea horizon. Many people believe that Mount Bytkha hides an alien base or is something like a “gateway” between two worlds.

The attention of ufologists has also recently been drawn to another city in Russia: the appearance of a UFO over the Kremlin in Moscow in December 2009 was one of the most high-profile contacts in the history of the country.

Wiltshire, UK

It's hard to say what has aroused more interest among locals and visitors over the past 50+ years: Stonehenge or Silbury Hill - a 40-meter artificial mound that is a real magnet for UFOs.

The appearance of crop circles, as well as pulsing lights in the night sky and strange sounds have become unspoken attributes of this region. In turn, Warminster, a city in the west of Wiltshire, has a reputation as the "capital of UFOs." One recent contact occurred on February 20 of this year: an object with two lights was seen by a local woman, first flying low over the ground and almost immediately soaring into the sky.

mexico city

Probably the most massive UFO sighting took place here: on April 11, 2005, thousands of people saw first 7, and then about 200-300 luminous spheres that filled the sky. At first, the spheres moved in formation, then spread out and began to perform individual maneuvers. A similar phenomenon, and, moreover, disc-shaped and anthropomorphic objects were also observed in this area, including during the daytime.

Mount Adams

Mount Adams, located in Washington State, has been known since 1986 as the site of ECETI (Enlightened Contact with ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence) meetings. extraterrestrial intelligence) is an organization founded by James Gilliland. The appearance of UFOs here is far from uncommon: the most common phenomenon of this kind at this location was the strange moving lights observed in the night sky. One day, the number of such lights reached 50.

However, a much more famous contact near Mount Adams was the so-called "Cascade Mountains Incident" in 1947, when the term "flying saucer" was first used by businessman Kenneth Arnold.

The most recent UFO sighting in this region dates back to July 4, 2009 - then, during the ECETI conference, a triangular aircraft of unknown origin was seen in the sky by participants.

San Clemente, Chile

150 meters south of Santiago is the so-called "UFO trail" - a 19-mile route along which several hundred UFOs have been observed over the past 20 years - mostly shiny metal spheres. There are rumors that somewhere along the trail there are landing sites for these devices. In addition, it is known that a few days before the February 27, 2010 earthquake, people in this region observed a strange glow in the sky.

Falkirk Triangle, Scotland

The Falkirk Triangle is an area between Stirling, Fife and Edinburgh, almost completely coinciding with the borders of the Scottish region of Falkirk. Since the 1990s, more than 2,000 locals have reported strange objects in the sky: lights that change shape and color, shiny metal disks with windows, and flashes of light. Most similar phenomenon falls on Bonnybridge - the average annual number of contacts in this industrial town reaches 300.

The last videotaped contact in the Falkirk Triangle took place on November 29, 2009. Then, in the video camera frame of a resident of Maddiston, who was filming meteor Rain, hit two luminous objects: white and red.

Ladakh, Himalayas

From this region, located on the border of China and India, for several years there have been reports of silent flying triangular-shaped objects appearing from the ground. Locals claim that this area may contain underground bases, the existence of which is hidden by the governments of both countries. Not so long ago, "dancing" lights in the sky were seen by Hindu pilgrims over the Kongka Pass. In addition, it is noteworthy that during the drawing competition held in 2009 at a local school, more than half of the students drew strange lights in the sky.

Erath County, Texas

On January 8, 2008, one of the most massive visual encounters with UFOs in US history took place in this area. Dozens of people, including the local sheriff, saw an aircraft about a mile wide in the sky over Stephenville. Later, the same object was seen over Cleburne (Cleburne), Dublin (Dublin), Selden (Selden) and even over the ranch of George W. Bush, located near Crawford. Similar UFOs were observed in October of the same year; in turn, in March 2010, a trapezoid-shaped object consisting of four orange lights was seen over Cottonwood.

Wycliff Well, Australia

Wycliff Well differs from other small Australian towns along the Stewart Highway with a large selection of different beers, as well as a huge number UFO sightings. The last recorded visual contact was in July 2009, when a strange flashing light was seen on the horizon by two locals near the Australian Air Force Base in Tindal, followed by a strong flash. According to witnesses, immediately after this outbreak, the base went out of light.

Desert in eastern Nevada

Approximately in the middle between the US Air Force bases Nellis (Nellis Air Force Range) and Hill (Hill Air Force Base) is another zone of increased UFO activity. Residents of the White Plains reported a wide variety of phenomena: green or orange spheres, vertical stationary lights that appeared and disappeared, and moving shining balls. In November 2009, the Nevada-based city of Ely attracted the attention of MUFON employees who wanted to investigate UFOs. A recent contact was recorded in December 2009 when a person driving on a highway north of Las Vegas saw two objects consisting of converging and divergent lights.

In order to send a rocket into space, you need whole line favorable conditions. As we shall see later, flights of unidentified flying objects, elusive UFOs, require the same favorable conditions.
With development computer technology When it became possible to process large arrays of ufological data, ufologists encountered a rather strange pattern in their statistical calculations. It turned out that there are periods of mini- and maxi-activity of UFOs. You have probably already heard such terms as "UFO activation", "UFO boom", "saucer boom", "UFO fever", "flap" ... This certain periods time (months, years) at which the largest number UFO. For the first time, time-limited bursts of a large number of reports of UFOs, both in individual countries and around the world, were recorded back in the 19th century (between November 1896 and April 1897, the first such surge was recorded in the United States - a large number of UFO sightings by millions Americans, as reported in the newspapers of the time).

ANNUAL RATE
Today, almost every country in the world knows about the most remarkable periods of UFO activations over their country. In Ukraine, for example, great UFO activity was noted in the middle of 1859, in 1892, in 1909 (in the USA, England, New Zealand and Russia as well), in 1912-1913, in 1978-1979 and, finally, in the period from 1989 to 1991.
In general, a table of the most remarkable periods of UFO activations throughout the globe looks something like this:
USA - 1881, 1883, 1885, 1897, 1905, 1909, 1913, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1957, 1965-1967, 1973; Central America- 1965; Chile - 1965; Brazil - 1957, 1962; Spain - 1950, 1968; Italy - 1978; Poland - 1966; Czechoslovakia - 1966; Europe - 1912-1913; Western Europe- 1954, 1968, 1973; UK - 1909, 1967-68, 1977, 1981; Scandinavia - 1933-1934, 1946, 1981; Russia - 1909, 1912-1913, 1962, 1966, 1977-78, 1988-89; Japan - 1958; China - 1966; New Guinea- 1959; Australia - 1909, 1965; New Zealand - 1909, 1960; South Africa - 1972; North Africa - 1950; Central Africa - 1966...
Ufologists also noticed another strange feature of the "UFO hats". Often they occurred at the end of each decade (periods of significant historical events such as war, trials nuclear weapons, large ecological disasters- also correspond to "UFO waves"). Statistical processing A huge number of reports of UFO sightings in independent ufological organizations and groups showed that the second half and especially the last years of each decade are years, figuratively speaking, of "UFO invasions". It should be especially emphasized that throughout the second half of the 20th century this trend has never been broken.
Most UFO-active 7-9 years in each decade. Thus, the next "flap" awaits us in 2007-2009.
In order to at least somehow clearly demonstrate UFO activity depending on the year, I bring to your attention a diagram that shows UFO activity from 1950 to 1990. The author received it on the basis of a generalization of the database on UFOs (300 messages) of the "UFODOS" society.

If you have the opportunity, compare this data with any others. Great will be your surprise, because in in general terms they will be identical. This, no doubt, is about the objective tendency of UFOs to appear in the Earth's atmosphere, taking into account certain "favorable" factors.

SEASONS
As for the seasons, I will refer to the results of the same statistical studies held in the mid-1990s in the UFODOS society. From a huge number of messages (received from various parts of the then USSR), 200 of the most informative and credible. All of them date from the 1980s. The numbers are as follows:
Autumn - 40.2%
Winter - 19.5%
Spring - 15.9%
Summer - 24.4%
It happens that largest number UFO reports may refer to summer period. So, Phillip Imbrogno and Marienne Horrigan in the book "Contact of the Fifth Kind" give "Statistics of UFO Appearances by Month" based on 3432 reports from which it follows that most UFO appearances occur in June and July (considerable activity in autumn, especially in October). A lot of UFO activity in the summer is also observed in Ukraine and a number of other countries. But here one important detail should be taken into account. Summer is the month of holidays school holidays, people sleep less and mostly spend time under open sky. That is, the activity of UFOs in the summer months of the year can just be explained by the activity of people.
An analysis of the same 200 messages showed that 23.3% of UFO sightings occurred from the 1st to the 10th of the month, 41.1% - from the 10th to the 20th, 35.6% - from the 20th to the 30th. Thus, UFO activity is quite stormy in the middle of the month.

DAYS OF THE WEEK
As for the most UFO-active days of the week, strange as it may seem, such a pattern in the behavior of UFOs also exists. From the results of the analysis of these 200 messages, it became clear that mysterious objects are observed more often on Wednesday and Saturday (Mon-12.7%, Tue-17.2%, Wed-19.5%, Thu-9.2%, Fri-11 .5%, SB-18.4%, VS-11.5%). These data have been confirmed by other studies. J.Vandeman, for example, in the book "Beyond Miracles" referring to John Keel's book "UFO: operation" Trojan horse writes: "There is one strange feature: mysterious phenomena(meaning UFOs) are usually observed late in the evening on Wednesday or Saturday. "Vandeman adheres to a religious hypothesis: UFOs are the toys of a fallen angel, that is, the devil. Developing this idea further, I can add that for a long time in Lorraine, witches' sabbats usually took place on the indicated days , although Vandemann's version is absurd, like all religious interpretations of the UFO phenomenon.
So, UFOs either use our calendars, or Wednesday and Saturday - auspicious days to show them to people. Or maybe there are other "either"? It is difficult to answer, especially since UFOs are subject to a scheme that includes a number of such "favorable" factors.

TIMES OF DAY
The next factor is the time of day.
My research shows that UFO contacts (whether visual, intimate or telepathic) increase around 5 pm and culminate at 9 pm. Secondary activity is repeated from 1 am to 3 am, after which it decreases to the daytime level, which is very low. These estimates and this time confirm the studies of other ufologists. In particular, published by J. Valle, F. Merritt, J. Randles, F. Imbrogno and M. Horrigan. If you are a ufologist, then do not be too lazy to repeat the calculations to get ... the same result.
An important circumstance for choosing a place and time for observing a UFO, if you have already decided to hunt for elusive "flying saucers", is the fact that the probability of a UFO sighting increases sharply in clear weather, when there are no clouds in the sky, the air is clean and transparent. Many eyewitnesses describing weather at the time of the appearance of a UFO, indicate that nature at this time looks unusually bright and festive.
It should be noted that independent studies conducted at different times and in various countries, give similar distributions for all the factors that we talked about today (if there are any deviations, then they are insignificant).

HYPOTHESES AND ASSUMPTIONS
Some researchers believe that at certain periods of time the Earth enters those regions of space where the usual three-dimensional measurement does not "act" and we observe "UFO invasions".
Other researchers note (Aimé Michel, Raymond Weilit, Guy Kensi - in France, Buelta - in Spain, Olavo Fontes - in Brazil) that an increase in the number of UFO sightings is noted during periods of the closest approach of Mars to the Earth (perhaps 1957 falls out of this system - the year of the launch of the first satellite of the Earth), during periods of confrontation. Such confrontations are repeated every 15-17 years. Of course, I, like all sane humanity, do not believe in Martians (remember, from H.G. Wells: Martians attack the Earth in 1894 during the confrontation), but studies of the active periods of the appearance of UFOs indicate the approach of Mars to the Earth.
Some find a relationship between UFO sightings and lunar cycles(UFO activation increases during the new moon and full moon). As is known, gravitational force The moon is exerting on the earth a huge impact(this effect is easy to notice, taking into account the behavior of the oceans of our planet) and, perhaps, in the same way, the Moon also affects the opening of windows to another dimension?
Some people tend to associate UFO activity with solar activity. Indeed, the number of groups and sunspots on the Sun is usually large at the beginning and end of each decade (in years ending in "5" the activity of the Sun drops). I have to admit that to some extent this corresponds to periods of UFO activations, but we can only talk about a simple coincidence.
There are other assumptions and statistics, but one way or another, a firm answer about the reasons for UFO activations does not yet exist.

Almost half of Russians are inclined to believe that aliens exist. At the same time, every hundredth citizen of the country is afraid of aliens. But there are those who seek to see representatives of extraterrestrial civilization - they are no more than 20% of the total population. How to look for a UFO and is it possible to find it? Let's figure it out further.

What to do to get in touch

  1. To see a UFO, you should look at the sky more often! In this case, it is better to enroll in any ufological club or organization. AT different regions countries are different. In some cases, special communities monitor the sky around the clock in order to achieve a result. As a result, the statistics of the observed interesting objects they are much higher. Small clubs conduct observations only in dark time days.
  2. Interestingly, the time of year plays almost no role. And the fact that UFOs are encountered more often at night is due to the fact that dim objects are difficult to detect during the day.
  3. Special detection devices are not required. You can, of course, use the radar, but it will not bring much benefit. It also happens that people see UFOs, but the radar does not show anything. AT this case better to use binoculars. When working on the ground, more serious studies are carried out, requiring the use of infrared receivers, a dosimeter and a magnetometer.

How to get into a group that investigates UFOs

Since the places where you can see UFOs are known only to some groups of people. It is wise to join them. In fact, there are a lot of them in the world. Basically, these are people involved in dowsing and bioenergetics, research anomalous phenomena and zones, studying the influence of radiation on a person.

Those looking for UFOs are not necessarily ufologists. These are both cryptobiologists and parapsychologists. There are those who do research all alone. A number of people are trying to cash in on discoveries, others believe in the power of science and act without expecting a reward.

In any case, these people are sure that not all cases of flying saucers are a hoax. Although fake photos and videos come across. And in some cases, UFOs are confused with rocket stages that launch from spaceports. However, there are several signs by which an extraterrestrial object can be distinguished from an terrestrial one. All ufological organizations know them. Why are aliens in no hurry to make direct contact with humans? They just don't need it. Specialists involved in extraterrestrial civilizations are well aware of this and are in no hurry to meet with humanoids. They chose a position of observation from the side.

Flights into space are becoming more and more popular, and perhaps in the near future we will go in search of brothers in mind to the remote corners of the universe. However, you can try to meet with aliens today: in some regions of the world, strange, possibly belonging to them aircrafts appear especially frequently. Introducing the top ten the best places for encounters with UFOs.

Puerto Rico

If most of the Caribbean islands are known only for their beaches, then Puerto Rico is worth going to for a date with aliens. Unidentified aerial vehicles darting across the sky and shooting colorful lights into the air usually appear in El Yunque. Therefore, the tropical forests on the northeast coast have become a Mecca for ufologists from all over the world.

The last appearance of a UFO: on January 23, 2010, a couple of local residents - a girl and her aunt - saw "saucers" flying and shooting.

Sochi, Russia

In the future capital of the Winter Olympic Games appeared not too long ago the new kind sports - hunting for UFOs. Hundreds of cases of collisions with incomprehensible phenomena have already been recorded, and one of them even managed to be filmed with a video camera: something flies over the city for great speed and hides under water. According to the observations of researchers, Mount Bytkha has a special energy. In their opinion, it is there that the alien base is located, working as a gateway between the worlds.

Last appearance of UFOs: in this region, many encounters with objects that occurred in previous years However, other regions of Russia also deserve attention. In December 2009, eyewitnesses saw and filmed a pyramid-shaped UFO over the Kremlin in Moscow.

Wiltshire, UK

It's hard to say what most attracts tourists and surprises locals in this quiet rural corner of England: stone blocks of Stonehenge, pulsating skylights or mysterious sounds coming from the sky. Especially often, UFO hunters come to the Iron Age observatory site of Clay Hill and Cradle Hill.

Last UFO sighting: On February 20, 2010, a woman observed a large, silent, low-flying UFO with two white lights in Hilperton.

Mexico City, Mexico

A whole squadron of strange objects was lucky enough to see those who ended up in the Mexican capital on April 11, 2005. In the afternoon, thousands of people witnessed a strange phenomenon: first, seven, and then a couple of hundred luminous spheres filled the sky and began to perform strange maneuvers. Mysterious devices have been appearing over Mexico City for a long time, but not in such numbers. The locals called this UFO parade a "peaceful invasion".

Last UFO sighting: On December 13, 2009, a "sky worm" was seen over the city.

Mount Adams, Washington, USA

James Gilliland, who founded the Society for Contacts with Extraterrestrial Intelligence, has been hosting everyone who wants to touch the world of the unknown since 1986 at his ranch at the foot of the mountain. No one is left disappointed: inexplicable lights regularly put on a real show in the sky. And once over the earth appeared as many as 50 unidentified objects. By the way, it was after meeting with a strange phenomenon near Mount Adams in 1947 that the pilot Kenneth Arnold first used the expression "flying saucer".

Last UFO sighting: On July 4, 2009, participants at the World Conference on Contact with Extraterrestrial Intelligence saw triangles flying across the sky.

Sant Clemente, Chile

150 miles from Santiago is the main Chilean site of regular encounters with UFOs, in 2008 even officially recognized by the local tourism office. Shiny metallic spheres have been appearing over this region since the 1990s. As the locals say, if you climb deeper into the mountains, you will be able to see the alien base among the volcanic plateaus. The most dedicated observers can go to a real UFO "hot spot" - El Enladrillado.

Last UFO sighting: A few days before terrible earthquake, which happened on February 27, 2010, people from different regions countries have reported unexplained anomalous auroras in the sky.

Falker Triangle, Scotland

More than 2,000 residents of these places claim that since 1990 they have constantly seen something strange in the night sky: vague lights, shiny disks that change shape and color, clearly giving some kind of signals. Moreover, most objects fly over a small industrial city Bonnybridge - an average of about three hundred a year. This year, the Department of Defense released 6,000 pages of records of these meetings.

Last UFO sighting: November 29, 2009 local filmed a meteor shower from Maddison and saw a large red and white flashing ball flying in a straight line.

Ladakh, Himalayas

Villagers have long reported strange flying objects appearing from time to time in this hard-to-reach area on the border of India and China: luminous triangles silently appear from the ground and soar vertically upwards. Recently, Hindu pilgrims reported seeing glowing dancing lights in the sky.

Last appearance of a UFO: In 2009, a competition was held in local schools for best drawing. More than half of the children depicted strange objects rising into the sky from the mountains.

Erath County, Texas, USA

The largest UFO sighting in the United States took place here. Dozens of people, including as respected as the local sheriff, claim to have seen a huge object quietly flying across the sky on January 8, 2008. Then he appeared in the area of Cliburn, Dublin, Seldern and even over President Bush's ranch. Another wave of UFO sightings was recorded in October 2008, and since then the inhabitants of these areas have been carefully peering into the night sky, hoping for a continuation of the show.

Last UFO sighting: On March 3, 2010, eyewitnesses spotted four orange lights forming an inverted trapezoid over Cottonwood, Texas.

Wycliff Well, Northern Territories, Australia

Usually crystal clear skies in the desert north of the country are the best for observing flying objects. And so it is not surprising that a small roadside restaurant on a highway in the remote Australian outback is hung with newspaper clippings and photographs of UFOs. They say that the so far unrecognized UFO capital of the Green Continent is located at the intersection of special energy meridians of the planet. It is difficult to prove this, but it is known for sure that this place has the best selection of beer in the region.

Last appearance of a UFO: in July 2009, two witnesses saw a flashing light on the horizon, and then flashes illuminating the entire sky.
